Oops...

... Pick up nearer the marathon and once it is over!

cinnamongreyhound · 19/11/2015 21:24

All these long midweek runs, very impressed!

What an eventful run this morning! Big dog caught a rabbit after it run into my friends leg, little dog went in for the kill, poor rabbit Sad big dog was limping afterwards and turns out he cut his foot. Little dog got lost and came back the wrong side of a fence, she's bright enough to come and meet us at the gate but was minus collar! Still it was 4.2 miles and was light by the time we got back so lovely ending. 884.6

cinnamongreyhound · 20/11/2015 07:52

4 early morning miles with just little dog today 888.6

lastqueenofscotland · 20/11/2015 19:36

Harvey Yes, I think who your employer is massively affects how easy it is to raise the required £2k. My employer also has a matching scheme and my colleagues are well-off so I was lucky enough to raise the required amount just through a just giving page +matching. I see a lot of people on the RMR page who are doing all sorts like pub quizzes, bake sales, car washes, garage sales etc. which on top of the actual training is a huge commitment.

cinnamon It's horrible when they do that. We used to have a labrador who was adept at catching rabbits and then if you tried to take them away he'd swallow them whole, the beastly animal. Not much you can do though- it's just in their nature, and tbh there are more than enough rabbits in our neck of the woods.

Adding 18 from this mornings longish run and a gym commute on Thursday to make 910.6. This morning felt like hard work so was gratified to get 20 Strava cups. I am such a Strava whore now- the site was down on Thursday and I nearly had a nervous breakdown as it wouldn't retrospectively pick up my km from the Suunto app.

I'm traveling with work next week so nothing from me till my half marathon on 29th, unless by some miracle I manage to get out for a quick run tomorrow.

stilllearnin · 21/11/2015 08:28

Hello just 2.8 chilly mile from me. Sorry Ive not been chatty - moving out of my family home next week so either no miles or loadsa miles I think! Have I missed winter running gear chat - gloves or no gloves on short runs?

stilllearnin · 21/11/2015 08:44

913.4 soz

MyBlackCat · 21/11/2015 13:29

3.1 parkrun miles in very cold windy weather, my running jacket came out for first time this winter and I'm glad I wore it Smile

916.5

lastqueenofscotland · 21/11/2015 14:01

5.9 today I swear that run usually comes out just over six! Must have cut a corner or two somewhere
922.4

suzannecaravaggio · 21/11/2015 15:50

20 from me (today and Thursday)
942.4

so cold today I kept my hat and gloves on the whole time, I wore 3/4 length tights and while my calves weren't cold the tops of my legs and my behind felt numb, I wish I'd worn shorts over my tights

cinnamongreyhound · 21/11/2015 18:03

4.2 from me, including parkrun, to and from and putting signs out 946.6

lastqueenofscotland · 22/11/2015 10:55

4 from me. Was going to try and fit a long one in but still not feeling great and I swear I can't breathe properly when it's this cold

950.6

Anglaise1 · 22/11/2015 11:09

26 miles from that last 3 days. Out in hail yesterday, sunshine for the club session today but only 2°C. Wore long sleeve T shirt and gloves for the first time, but still in 3/4 tights. I hate wearing full length tights, it has to be really really cold.

8.70 for me today. I was aiming for 10miles but picked a route with roo many hills and turned back early. Very uncomfortable from the off - I'm hoping I haven't picked up the cough and colds my DDs have.

985.3

Tiredemma · 22/11/2015 15:56

I went and lost my mojo.

Its back again now.

3 miles this pm

988.3

cinnamongreyhound · 22/11/2015 17:07

I wore long sleeves and regretted it Anglaise1! I'm with you on 3/4's for along as possible, definitely sub zero, despite me having very pink legs yesterday!

Lovely run today, total opposite of last Sunday! Dh was working so my friend only did first 4 miles with me but we were quick and I did a total of 6.2, yay! 994.5

mudandmayhem01 · 22/11/2015 17:14

Lovely off road run in the peak district with an old friend and her new dog ( gorgeous pointer) forgot my Garmin but I guess about 8miles. The stunning sunset was worth more than the mileage!

Deliaskis · 22/11/2015 22:14

I have missed logging a few, so have 5 from this morning, 3 from Tuesday evening, 4 from last weekend and another 3 in the week. So 15 to add from me, plus mayhem did 8, makes New total 1017.5 I think

runtothehills · 23/11/2015 08:31

Lovely 10 miles up in the snowy hills on Saturday. It was -2 in the glen so about -4 up at 2500ft, probably about -6 with the windchill. Definitely had my full leg tights on for this one (plus LS top, jacket, buff, gloves and hood up!). Snow had drifted into the paths so at time was up past the knees and other times completely windblown. Stunning views, had to share, love Scotland in the winter Grin.

Jaw dropping view Runto Grin
Is it not hard to actually run on the snow though?
(I started running this time last year so not encountered any yet)

Anglaise1 · 23/11/2015 14:39

What a fabulous photo runtothehills thanks for sharing! I'm very jealous of your mountains, less so the snow, but I guess once you are used to running in it, it gets easier? Here we rarely have any, too flat and too near the coast.
7.7 from a lovely sunny (if chilly) dog run this morning.

13 from me
1048.2

sunny but cold, I think I must have become acclimatized to running in warmer weather, the cooler weather seems to make me feel colder than it did last winter.
Still quite exhilarating just to feel the cold after months and months of running through treacle in the warm weather :o

lastqueenofscotland · 23/11/2015 20:12

God hills I miss it up there!!!

5.4 from me getting a bit quicker but still off pace. Will do hills tomorrow then a rest day I think.

1053.6

emummy · 24/11/2015 10:49

First run back after last week's race. Lovely relaxing run in woods with dog, really enjoyed it and happily the rain has washed away all the snow and ice so I didn't fall over!
1057.8

MyBlackCat · 24/11/2015 15:13

7.2 miles in the wet mud this morning, I seem to be getting slower and slower, felt tough today.
