Adding 6.5 from this mornings hill session (+/- 1100m) so more climbing and technical descent practice than running really. Total now 126.81.
welcome back Louey especially with your mega mile backlog. I think I missed that you are pregnant Trijo- congratulations. Is it your first?
Re random races, that half sounds nice Anglaise and as you say, no harm in doing it. You know you can do the distance so it's just about time. There was a good tip in a trail running magazine for frequent racers whereby you basically divide the season into A,B and C races where A races are the ones you're genuinely racing, the ones where you want a PB or to do well, B races are a bit "see how I feel on the day/ see who else is there" races, and C are just really training runs.
I've just been given the opportunity to do the HK Oxfam Trailwalker in November (100k) which is really hard to get into here (think the UK one is as well). Those of us who have had shockers in team events will appreciate the exchange I had with my friend over it
Friend: Do you want to do Trailwalker with these 3 guys I know? They really need another team member and you'd be a good fit for time.
Me: Um, not sure. Might be a bit weird if I dont know them
Friend: Oh- way better to do it like that. It's not like you'll be friends by the end anyway.
Finally, I bought a Salomon skort. I always thought they were a bit gimmiky but I am a convert. Love it.
