35 min easy run, week 3 of hm training
647.66

Anglaise1 · 14/07/2015 17:08

Phlebas glad your feet are holding up OK now you have re-started running. emummy how long until your HM, are you doing a 12 week training plan?
Purpletoes good luck with your club session. Moving up a group will probably do you good and push you more.
15.7 miles from me from the last 2 days. Still pointless running with no speedwork, but as there is a bank holiday today there is no club training session.

Good to hear you are recovering Phlebas, hope it all continues to go well.

cinnamon running is so addictive. I can't believe how quickly I changed from grumpily totally hacked off with it to all bouncy and enthusiastic again once I'd stopped running and got a banana and some water into me Grin

sophie the toy giraffe totally bypassed my DC but Usual Suspects is one of my favourite films Smile

4.67 slow recovery run in the rain today, accompanied by DS1.

647.66 + 4.67= 652.33

familygermsareok · 14/07/2015 17:20

X post , 668.03

LornMowa · 14/07/2015 19:16

668.03 as I am adding my weekly total of 5.6.

I think one of my runs could be described as a Fartlek as I just randomly ran faster if I saw a lamp post or car in the distance that took my fancy!

cinnamongreyhound · 14/07/2015 21:20

4.2 from me, social club run. Got poured on but actually was cooling Smile 672.23

lastqueenofscotland · 14/07/2015 22:45

interval session with the club tonight, including jogging too and from the track i think about 4 miles. I paused bloody app at some lights and forgot to restart it so a guestimate! 676.23

Sparklepup · 14/07/2015 22:50

5k club race tonight so 679.33

Neeko · 15/07/2015 08:22

Envy of your sunshine neeko

TriJo · 15/07/2015 10:07

Craptacular run last night - legs were tired and it felt like I had two bowling balls strapped to my chest. Feck it, tis done though...

684.63

TriJo · 15/07/2015 10:08

That should be 686.63, need more coffee...

HalleLouja · 15/07/2015 11:23

About 4.5 miles to add here. We did a 5k run at club and had to run there and back makes 691.13.

Anglaise1 · 15/07/2015 17:18

11 miles from me first thing this morning when it was cooler, only 22°C Shock but better than 29°C this afternoon. I'm not complaining, guests are always much happier when the sun is shining....even if it is too hot for me.

Did a 7km club run last night. Did it on the group above feeling it today but it was good and I think I held my own. Was good to push myself. Also ran there and back so that's 5.5 miles from me.

I just need my lo to settle for her daddy when at club although I suppose it is at baby witching hour in the evening.

Can't figure out if I am a morning or evening run person. Each has it advantages.

Early morning at 22 still sounds hot to me! Grin anglaise

Name changed from MadMonkeys.

Just did 1.9 miles interval running tonight. I wish it wasn't so humid!

Well done everyone. I've been benched since Monday. Woke up at 4am on Tuesday with terrible earache. Drove to 24hr outpatients and diagnosed with middle ear infection and what they call "walking pneumonia" (basicaly bacterial chest infection), so now on antibiotics. Feel ok in myself (possibly due to cocktail of drugs. No scrimping on the codeine based cough suppressants in Asia) but told to take it easy for a few days.

purpletoes I've always been a morning runner just because "what gets done first gets done" and I usually run out of steam by the evening. Also, when i was younger and still had a social life, evening runs always lost out in a head to head with "going to the pub". Grin. That said, I do now do a couple of evening sessions and they're quite nice, especialy if I have some company. I also reckon they're better for weight loss as if you're running you cant also be eating crisps and drinking wine on the sofa.

suzannecanthecan · 16/07/2015 08:23

?I run in the morning before I've eaten anything...don't feel like doing anything strenuous at the other end of the day.
Too weighted down by all the food I've eaten.
I hope your chest infection clears up asap, Keyser!
never heard of walking pneumonia but any kind of pneumonia sounds serious ?

Neeko · 16/07/2015 08:38

I'm also a morning runner. I try to be organised so I am be up and out running before I know I'm doing it. If I plan to run I the evening I spend most of my day imagining twinges to talk myself out of it! Grin

Walking pneumonia sounds tough. Hope you are better soon. Take it easy.

emummy · 16/07/2015 09:02

Definitely a morning runner, no energy by evening! Intervals this morning, managed reasonable pace for me, and no rain for once.
Anglaise the hm is in September, so yes a 12 week plan, no doubt there will be a hiccup or two!

suzannecanthecan · 16/07/2015 09:11

oh yeah too knacked by evening on account of the earlier running

oh, wait...:o

Whowouldfardelsbear · 16/07/2015 09:48

A total of 8.39 from me over my last three runs. I'm working through a half marathon plan so hopefully will build up!

I've entered a half marathon in May next year which is run through a vineyard in a really nice area of the South Island of NZ. I'm going with a couple of friends and we're making a weekend of it. As well as water stations they have wine tasting tables along the way, so I will definitely be doing it as a run/walk event with no aiming for a PB . . .

722.67

TriJo · 16/07/2015 09:50

4 miles to work this morning, legs felt like lead for the first half. Wakey wakey body, we need you to work this weekend...

726.67

Anglaise1 · 16/07/2015 11:25

Whowouldfardelsbear your HM in the vineyards sounds fun! We have a similar marathon here in France, the Marathon of Médoc, no place for PBs and known as "the longest marathon in the world" because if often takes at least an hour longer than usual to do due to all the dégustations (food and drink) at the various chateaux on the route.
