Over on the Parkrunners Anonomoyous thread there has been a cunning plan being hatched for a summer 10k meet up. Picking up on excellent suggestion from thenightsky here is a shiny new thread for us to use to plot.

ooooooohhh. I'm not on the very exclusive parkrunners thread but can I join you please? I've recently returned to athletics after a few 2-5 mile runs over the last year or so, now ds1 has joined our local athletics club for long distance competition training, and I have accidentally been sucked in as a coach (am qualified but desperately out of practice ) Needing focus tbh and this just might be it

I'm not on the Parkrunners thread either. I don't get to Parkrun much because DH won't get out of bed early on a Saturday Saturday mornings are busy for me.

I'd be up for a summer 10k though! Are we all going to raise money for the same charity? We could do a sort of MN running club maybe.

I'm going to start building up from 5k to 10k this spring.

I'm tentatively in!

Well given I'm the one who came up with this mad idea, I suppose I'd better make an effort to get myself up from 5k to 10k

Hooray! Lots of runners already!

Eau mentioned running for charity/a MN running club. This thread is the Woolly Running thread from earlier in year - a spin off (pardon the pun) from the Woolly Hugs blanket and crafting threads. A team of us ran the BUPA 10K, and other runners ran 5K, 10K and even a half marathon all over the UK over the course of the year for World Child Cancer. It would be great if we could keep this going .

Yes, where? Potentially would be in though somewhat ironically would be too lazy to travel far for it...

Could always look for a few around the country so people can do the one closest to them

Can anyone recommend 5-10k podcasts?

I use an iPod nano to run with and need someone telling me what to do!

I used the NHS choices couch 25k, but don't think that they've done one to get me up to 10k.

i used a zenlabs 10k app. week eight is the same as the nhs end of c25k. so.you can start at wk 7-8. then it builfs up to 20k. think.it was 14 or 16 wks in yotal? but wks 1-8 are couch to 5k iyswim? its free and i found it very good.

am also potentially in (subject to how far I can be bothered to travel)

We don't have a parkrun near us :(, but I'm in anyway!

I'd be interested in finding out more, again depends where.

Sirzy's idea of finding a few is a good one
