Over on the Parkrunners Anonomoyous thread there has been a cunning plan being hatched for a summer 10k meet up. Picking up on excellent suggestion from thenightsky here is a shiny new thread for us to use to plot.

So who's in?

Thanks, feetheart, that's really kind of you. I'll ask DH tonight and work out the figures. I'm sure he'll say we can afford it- he says that about everything, that's why we're so broke Grin

Blatherskite - def not, the hippos really stink :)

EauRouge · 14/01/2014 13:07

Hippos can spray poo. Don't get too close!

DH says we can afford it but then tried to steal my idea and said he could do it while I look after the DDs Angry I told him to find his own 10k. He might do the 2k with DD1 if it's not at the same time as the 10k.

I have lots of happy memories of visiting Whipsnade as a child so it'll be lovely to run around there.

So we have a growing posse of runners at Whipsnade Stampede...I need to invite some grandparents along as have entered me and DH :) It is really nice that there is a kids 2k - we are treating it in the same way as blathers...a nice day at the zoo with a stealthy run included Grin

We also have a growing band for the wolf run in september on the new thread over here ---> www.mumsnet.com/Talk/exercise/1966510-Who-fancies-10km-of-mud-and-obstacles-Come-and-join-Team-Wolef?pg=2

There seem to be a few folk doing Womens 10k at MK, and I am sure I saw a few other things up thread too.

A happy summer of running and training ahead for us all then!

The whipsnade 2k has an age limit of 4-14, i guess we cheer on the kids from the sidelines all the way around? Anyone done it before that can shed any light on how it actually works???/

I guess that must be how it works. DD1 is only 5 but will be fine on her own, she'll probably make 83 new best friends who will know her entire life story before she finishes. I need to read all the blurb on the website first.

feetheart · 14/01/2014 19:53

2k and 10k were at different times last year though we didn't make it so can't fill in any more details. However if anyone needs zoo info I'm your woman, have been members since DD was 16mths old and she's now nearly 11 Shock
:o at 83 new best friends EauRouge. DS(8) will hare off after the big boys and then wonder why he can't keep up though he did do the local Santa run in 28mins and beat me!! He is VERY determined.
