Over on the Parkrunners Anonomoyous thread there has been a cunning plan being hatched for a summer 10k meet up. Picking up on excellent suggestion from thenightsky here is a shiny new thread for us to use to plot.

So who's in?

Just signed me and SH up for the 10k stampede, and both DS for the 2k kids run :)

SH? DH :)

How about the Birth Trauma Association? I'm raising money for them for my half marathon and they desperately need more funds.

So if we're doing the Autumn Wolef, I could also do the Stampede... It'll have to wait until payday though! I wonder how quickly each of them sells out.

Tiredemma · 12/01/2014 09:02

we must each have one of these for keeping our bodies warm pre and post event

Grin Good idea, we'll be soaking wet afterwards.

HalleLouja · 12/01/2014 11:38

Have just signed up for Whipsinade 10k. 5 months to train.... I can do 5k now so definitely doable.

jellybrain · 12/01/2014 23:06

Would love to do the Autumn Wolf run if I'm not too late. I'ma 'fairly oldie too.
Am going to sign up to the Women's Running 10k in Milton Keynes on July 5th too Grin
Btw have any of you seen the Brooks shoe promotion at www.brooks.co.uk ? You get to try out a pair of shoes from the Pure Project range for a week and then get a £25 voucher twds a pair if you decide to buy. I get to pick mine up on 2nd of Feb.

thenightsky · 12/01/2014 23:35

If I do Wolef I'll have to book a hotel/motel/travelodge either side of it. Does anyone have the exact location so I could be close by?

Tiredemma · 13/01/2014 08:29

thenightsky-

Just had a mooch around the website and it looks as if they do the autumn one just outside Leamington Spa (about 4 miles out)

Blatherskite · 13/01/2014 15:59

Looks like my running club are doing the June Wolf run so I can definitely be on team Wolef for the September one :)

Jelly, I'll come and cheer you on for the Women's 10k as I live in MK :)

Standingonlego · 13/01/2014 17:38

so who do we have now for team Wolef in September? Enough for 2 teams of 5 yet? Do we have to group up by age or anything weird like that?

OP posts:
Tiredemma · 13/01/2014 20:01

Yes- can we have a roll call for the Wolef?

Im in.

AARRRRGH!!! Just realised it falls on DD's birthday weekend Sad

feetheart · 13/01/2014 20:55

Can't let you know about Wolef Run until sometime in February when results of GNR ballot come out but I'm definitely up for it. Would need to be in 'old wolef team' if we do it by age, don't tend to act it though - hence contemplating mad wolef run :o

Tempted by MK Women's 10k as well as I'm not far away.
There is also a 5 and 10k in Knebworth in February but it is DD and DH's birthday w/e (one on Sat, one on Sun) so I think that one is out for me.

EauRouge · 13/01/2014 21:26

Can we not have a mixed age team then? I don't know what the age categories are. I won't be able to pay for it until payday anyway.

Do you think we should start a separate thread for it?

Tiredemma · 13/01/2014 22:11

Bloody phone.

Separate thread good idea Eau.

We can't pay for it until around apr/may anyway which is when they open up registration

HalleLouja · 14/01/2014 09:51

Could do Knebworth 5k. There is no way I could do 10k by then by can do 5k now.

Blatherskite · 14/01/2014 11:25

Yes, registration isn't open for the Spring or Summer WOLF runs yet so no need to pay for it for ages. Have liked their page on FB though so I should get advance warning of when it will be open.

Blatherskite · 14/01/2014 11:28

I looked at the MK Women's run but it's expensive for a 10k! It's the same lake as our parkrun course so it's not like I don't run round there a lot anyway - but for free. I meet one of my running clubs there twice a week too!

EauRouge · 14/01/2014 11:34

I'm still thinking about the Whipsnade one, I'd love to do it but it gets expensive after paying for DH and the DDs to come along as well.

I've set up a new thread for the Wolf Run here.

feetheart · 14/01/2014 11:40

Eaurouge - you reminded me - we are members at Whipsnade and have a few half-price tickets left if you want those (we get an allocation each year).
Have to wait until there is cash in the bank before signing up for Whipsnade but have told DS it is on so we have to do it now - 10k for me, 2k for him (though I be doing that with him as my warm-up Hmm)

feetheart · 14/01/2014 11:44

may - I sound like some country bumpkin Hmm

Blatherskite · 14/01/2014 11:45

Zoo tickets for the day are included in the race entry price so I'm just treating it as a day out with a run at the beginning :)

The DC's will love the zoo and as we'll be there early for the run, they'll have a full day to make the most of it. You get a 15% off voucher when you sign up for the race too. My brother and his girlfriend are talking about signing up too and my Mum will probably come and watch so it should be a nice family day out. At least I won't be the only stinky one there Wink
