Good morning Smile

Voting to leave the European Union was a monumental decision, and one that will change the direction of our Country for decades to come.
I see that as an exciting opportunity & something to be welcomed & celebrated.

So, if you see solutions instead of problems, if you see a better future for the citizens of U.K., free from the constraints of an organisation we had no control over, then this place is for you.
Of course not everything is going to run smoothly, maybe not for years, because leaving a union drowning in red tape was never going to be easy, but we are forward thinking progressive people who know the future doesn’t just mean next week.
So, here’s to our new future,
To the future of the U.K. Wine
The countdown begins.........

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/02/2018 08:50

Didn’t the countdown start 2 years ago?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/02/2018 08:52

Oh should have added Brexit deal will be “easiest in history” who said that?
Red tape, what red tape?

Globetrotter100 · 12/02/2018 09:00

Has someone come up with a plan at long last? Fantasic. Grin

Actually, really interested to hear your vision of our glorious post-Brexit future, surfer, as I'm sure you've given a great deal of thought to it. You mention 'exciting opportunity'. Can you give some examples of what this might be and where you think the country's 'new direction' will take us? Those of us that don't share your enthusiasm would love to have something concrete to look forward to.

Hmmmmm interesting reference to doing away with red tape. (Those jointly agreed regulations that ensured our food, pharmaceuticals, employers and environment met certain standards.)

But. we .are. being. positive.

So actually it’s all great. It is -it really is. The Tories are replacing that carefully debated and crafted red tape, with their own blue exit tape.

Tory Blue tape- it’s the new red tape dontcha know? A bottomless pit of it. Hopefully it will be drafted by the new inexperienced civil servants and then approved by the chosen few ministers like David Davies though, using Henry VIII powers, none of this Parliamentary debate business. That's a positive too, it's much quicker and more efficient circumventing parliamentary process.

There is a whole new government department. That’s positive. They have employed 3,000 new civil servants already including some 300 lawyers. That’s positive. Plus between 3,000 and 5,000 more civil servants to come!

The PM announced more than £400m for the mechanics of walking away including preparation for no trade deal scenarios. Plus a further £250m additional funding in 2017/18 announced later. But that’s so positive because it shows the government are really investing money and resources in what the people wanted.

So a whole new government department to create lovely blue Tory tape , its a win - win.

Good morning User Grin

Yes, beautiful sunny day here in London.

Oh, & also....EXPRESS COMMENT

AFTER quite literally years of scaremongering the Bank of England has admitted that not only will Britain’s financial system be untouched by Brexit but that even if we leave with no deal the core of the system will still be “robust
The Bank of England deputy governor Ben Broadbent said exactly that in a radio interview, vindicating everything that this newspaper has also been saying for years

With even the erstwhile prime minister David Cameron admitting that Brexit was not looking as bad as he feared, the impression is growing that the entire political establishment (with some honourable exceptions) was engaged in trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the British public

Project Fear was ramped up to the high heavens, dire warnings issued about what would happen if we reclaimed our independence – and now?

It seems this doom-mongering had about as much basis in stability as a house of cards

Could have c&p’d loads more positive news stories, but this one is from just a few days ago.

Looking forward to all the positive stories and solutions.

There're just that though; stories. Hey are not solutions to the issues

I can't wait to hear from all those Leavers 'who see solutions not problems'.

That's very different to people who just refuse to see the problems, which is what Leavers round here are.

Globetrotter100 · 12/02/2018 10:56

EXPRESS COMMENT

Not sure if that means a comment from the Daily Express or a comment typed out quickly without fact checking. Or both.

Either way, looking good 🎉

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/02/2018 10:59

So how are we controlling borders and maintaining the GFA? Positivity please!

Oh well, nice try Surfer - spectacularly unsurprised that the thread has been shit all over already by the same voices.

Anyhoo - Wine& vain hope that the remoaners start their own remoaner thread instead.

howabout · 12/02/2018 11:31
Brew Impossible to have a bit of positive friendly banter 'round here. Sad
Teetotal2018 · 12/02/2018 11:38

Gosh it surprises me how much people can’t cope with different opinions from thier own. A Few people on this thread having little fits already! 😴

I voted remain but I’m optimistic for the future and I hope it was a great decision for our country. I support democracy and I am accepting of other people’s points of view. Here’s to a brilliant Brexit 😊

LondonMum8 · 12/02/2018 11:42

"The Leavers Lagoon"... is that a place in Thailand Leavers are hoping to find a retreat in?

LondonMum8 · 12/02/2018 11:44

"I voted remain but I’m optimistic for the future and I hope it was a great decision for our country."

Either hopeless trolling or teetotalling didn't work out for @Teetotal2018 :(

LondonMum8 · 12/02/2018 11:46

"Impossible to have a bit of positive friendly"

Sure it is, just start a sensibly positive thread.

Teetotal2018 · 12/02/2018 11:48

LondonMum8 Just because you don’t like my opinion that means I’m not being truthful?

There is nothing wrong with me wanting to be optimistic and for things to turn out well for my country. You honestly want things to go badly just to prove that remain was the correct answer?

howabout · 12/02/2018 11:51

Why does positivity have to be "sensible"?
