We are up to 1000 posts on the other thread, so thought I'd start a new one. And also because as of today my feedback rating is 1000 & I now have a red star

Please keep posting, I love this thread; it's so friendly and interesting!

Yay! Wine for Seabright's new star and the new thread.

Tortoise · 19/10/2011 20:56

Well done seabright.

Carrotsandcelery · 19/10/2011 21:00

Tortoise you asked if your listings looked ok. Is there a link to them on the other thread?

I have one non payer from Sunday. If they don't pay tonight should I open a case?

Tortoise · 19/10/2011 21:01

Should be a link on other thread. Can't seem to link to them on my phone.

fergoose · 19/10/2011 21:05

Carrots you have to wait until day 4 to open a case, so it will be tomorrow night.

Carrotsandcelery · 19/10/2011 21:07

Thanks again fergoose

Carrotsandcelery · 19/10/2011 21:14

Tortoise I don't know if it is relevant, as you are no doubt painfully aware I am new to this, but a lot of your listings don't say girl or girls.

When I search I do something like, " Next girl age 14" so presumably none of your items would come up in my search as you don't have the word girl or girls.

I have started putting boy and boys in my titles and, maybe by coincidence, I am getting more traffic this week.

The photos are clear.

Does "yrs" do the same as "years" in a search. That might be a problem too.

fergoose · 19/10/2011 21:17

Carrots, I often find buyers do pay when they get the 4 day reminder. I agree it is annoying when you are all ready to dispatch, some folk just don't pay immediately like you or I may do.

Carrotsandcelery · 19/10/2011 21:21

Is the four day reminder automatic or do I need to send it fergoose?

fergoose · 19/10/2011 21:26

no, literally bang on 4 days, so 8.01pm if your auction ended at 8pm, next to the item click the arrow drop down box and select resolve a problem, then follow instructions from there to open a case.

then on day 7, so 3 days after the 8.01pm when you opened the case, you get the option to close the case and get fees back if they don't pay. Then you can relist.

Carrotsandcelery · 19/10/2011 21:29

Thanks - I almost hope they don't pay as it didn't go above the start price of £1.99.

HalleLouja · 19/10/2011 21:30

Marking my place!

Non payers are a pain in the backside.

mogs0 · 19/10/2011 21:39

Well done Seabright!!

Carrots - I've had a few payment reminders recently for items that I've collected in person so I'm assuming they're coming from ebay rather than the sellers.

Here are my latest listings.

5 of the 6 items listed on the weekend have watchers so fingers crossed they get a few bids too.

I've got two more big items to list because I am desperate for the space that they're taking up.

The new carpet went down in my new bedroom yesterday so I'm torn between listing more ebay stuff to free up some space and moving furniture back into the bedroom so that I've got somewhere to sleep Grin.

Carrotsandcelery · 19/10/2011 21:46

mogs do you have 32 watchers on your coat stand? I get excited if I have 7 watchers. How do I go about getting lots of watchers like that?

dizzyday07 · 19/10/2011 22:03

Found you all!

fergoose - following on from last night's bodywarmer message, I replied by just saying that I'm trying to get rid of stuff and good luck should they bid. They've replied tonight saying it was a joke meant for someone else!

Well done Seabright I remember how excited I was when I hit 1000 not too long ago

Tortoise · 19/10/2011 22:05

I sometimes put girls or boys in the title but when its a dress I felt silly putting girls dress. I tend to search for an item ie trousers then look by g

Tortoise · 19/10/2011 22:06

Somehow hit post!
By category, so search trousers then select girls clothn

Tortoise · 19/10/2011 22:07

Clothing. Bloody phone!
Not sure about yrs v years.

Carrotsandcelery · 19/10/2011 22:09

Well otherwise the posts look good to me.

mogs0 · 19/10/2011 22:28

Carrots - the counter is counting the number of ebayers who have viewed it. Only the seller can see how many watchers there are - which, btw, there are 11 at the moment Grin. It's doing far better than I'd expected.

Having used the ebay app tonight I'm not sure if I like it as much as I first thought. I have issues...

  1. I scheduled my items to start tonight but when I went to start them immediately it wouldn't let me. I had to put the PC on and revise them that way.

  2. Is it possible to change font style/size using the app?

  3. I didn't get the option to add a counter - did I just miss it or is it not possible to add it via the app?

Sorry for the questions but if anyone'll know it'll be MN-ebayers Grin Grin!

Carrotsandcelery · 19/10/2011 22:37

Blush mogs I am so daft. That explains SOOOOO much! On the flip side I don't feel so bad now. I thought everyone else had heaps of watchers and I was the only one with 3 or 4 (if I'm lucky).

Btw, I am one of the watchers, and on your advent calendar, and on the rocket storage pockets... Blush

mogs0 · 19/10/2011 22:55

Don't Blush - I offer very reasonable combined postage rates Grin

dizzyday07 · 20/10/2011 09:51

I had thought about listing some outgrown school uniform over half term - hoping that there had been some growth spurts since the start of school! - but not sure if people are more likely to be out and about and not buying [hmmm]

Carrotsandcelery · 20/10/2011 10:01

I have sold some outgrown school clothing over the last couple of weeks. It has only gone for £1.99 or similar though. That is Next stuff - I imagine M&S might sell a bit better. Have you looked at sold prices? The Scottish schools go back on Monday as well if that is at all relevant.

dizzyday07 · 20/10/2011 10:10

I don't expect a lot for it - not considering the price of new stuff in the supermarkets - it's more about clearing space! Maybe I'll list for them to finish mid week then they can be sent and arrive before school starts!
