Well that was a weird one.

At east van Vluten picked up silver!

....even if she thought that she'd won Gold and had to be told that there was someone ahead of her out of sight

Even Lizzie thought that AVV had won

Ds' claim to fame is that he's raced against Anna Shackley (when he was 2nd year of an age group and she was 1st and when they weren't split into boys and girls) in both Crits and on track.

I could probably go and search my photos on my lap top to find some pictures of her. She always cycled with an incredibly flat back and low profile.

She also used to wear really thick glasses and has blossomed into a lovely young woman.

I wondered if van Vleuten thought she had won. Lizzie did.

I didn't realise they didn't know about the winner! I thought she was looking very happy with her silver.

Did she find out before she was interviewed??

I had to go out immediately after the race, so did see her cross the line and look incredibly happy for being beaten to gold. I did wonder if she knew.

Apparently when there is a breakaway of 3 and you catch 2 the it's a good idea to catch the third one. You don't even need Keisenhofer's PhD in maths to sort that one out.

From the interviews it seems that plenty of people knew she was out in front. Kopecky and Bourghini knew they were racing for bronze, and the other two in the break, Plichta and Shapira obviously knew. But no one told the Dutch or Lizzie Deignan.

Belated thanks to Felicity for the velogames league. Caught up with watching the men's mountain biking yesterday. A bit of a mystery how Van der Poel didn't know about the missing ramp, when everyone else seemed to manage ok. What a shame. Impressive performance from Tom Pidcock though.

Yep who are we jinxing? Most of my TdF team had a shocker. Except Cav, he did OK.

Aaaah, I did SO badly last time I don't know if I should even bother!
