I've often discussed an idea similar to that with dh lljkk - usually after ranting about the inappropriateness of the "hostesses" accompanying the jersey presentations.

Making it one male and one female doesn't really address the objectification - just makes it equally distributed

My team has lost a couple of people but is more plagued by under performers.

When I came up with my thread title. I never imagined that by stage 19 the only sprinters left would be Cav and Greipel!

It's interesting listening to Cav's pre-stage comments in the highlights show and already having watched the stage: he was signalling their strategy/he was tired even before the stage and wanted his team mates to re-gather their strength for Sunday.

I'd have preferred him to have won his 35th today though so that I he could enjoy the race on the Champs-Elysées without the pressure of still "needing" it.

I'd even suggested to ds that if he'd won today, wouldn't it have been brilliant if he'd helped/led out Mørkøv to a win? Not in the equation now but it would've have been a brilliant "re-paying" of his team.

It's certainly going to be nail biting and it bugs me that Gary Imlach talks as though it's a done deal!

All a bit down in the dumps here....but as I reminded my DS, if anyone had predicted 6 months ago that Cav would be even riding the Tour, never mind taking home the green jersey and equalling the record they would have been laughed at. Yes, it would have been fantastic for him to hit 35 in Paris, but the fact he didn't doesn't detract from his phenomenal performance at this Tour. And something tells me he wont be retiring just yet....

Yeah i'm a bit gutted too. Honestly, the sprint competition was weak this year so even if he is back next year, another year older with a full competitive field....

Well that was a jolly interesting Tour all things considered, esp after the mayhem of the first week.
And chapeau to JessFD, whoso ever she or he is. I had 3 of my team wander off tour duties. Did LottoSoudal really end with only 4 riders??
