Just wondering if there are many others out there. Was reading a political pamphlet and it was going on about self ID and how important it is. I just don't agree and think it's so damaging to change the definition of what a woman is. And the definition of a man too, I guess. Sex based rights are under threat in Ireland. Fed up with all the nonsense. Wondering what other Irish mumsnetters think.

@johnnytightlips omg that's too funny! I think he's getting publicity for all the wrong reasons now. Hope that tweet goes far & wide😂 it's not going to help Fine Gaels cause for re election, now the tide has turned 🤣🤣

Yes, they obsessively stalk these pages and then console themselves that the posters are prosecco drinking Brits who pretend to be Irish.
The comment that because we care about this issue we couldn't possibly care about housing or other issues 😂.
Richard Bruton voted to lift the eviction ban. The double think is quite amusing.
Of course they know that Irish women are comely maidens who dance at the crossroads at the weekend, who know their place and can only hold one thought at the time. There is no way that Irish women would have the temerity to say No.
The casual racism is eye opening though.

Leopardprintonsie · 01/04/2023 09:15

Maddens me to think Roderic o Gorman spoke in the UN a couple of weekend ago representing Ireland at the Commission on the status of women!!! Why send a man? Roderic o Gorman of all men.

I think Anna Conda as the Tweeter calls himself & his followers are getting rather worried the way the tide is shifting. There's a tone of desperation & worry now regarding all things "TERF" 😁 He doesn't seem to like the idea of us emailing our tds & is calling on his followers to email their tds in retaliation 🤣 The tds will be bombarded 😀

I said in my complaint that ROG is a regular contributor to RTE. I’ll be interested to see what they say.

Just wondering if you got a response from RTE yet?

I'm thinking of writing back and listing all the RTE programmes he has been on recently, including having a presenter slot on the Eurovision Special last year, along with DWTS. RTE also aired his documentary, and he had a 4 part radio series. How can they say he's nothing to do with them?!

I understand that most presenters aren't actually employees but contractors, so technically not employee - but c'mon, for most viewers these people are the face of RTE.

VaddaABeetch · 01/04/2023 14:18

I haven’t heard back from RTE yet. I got the standard we got your complaint.

I fully expect a word salad. I have a list of the programmes Pissy was associated with.

😂That's what I will call him in my head from now on.

Thanks, I will probably just send the reply because they annoyed me so much with their dismissal of any concerns. It's no secret that he's been all over RTE in the last few years.

VaddaABeetch · 01/04/2023 14:48

@Farmageddon send the reply. The more complaints the harder to ignore.

@MaeveofConnaught comely maidens with giant men feet, bad wigs & mad eyes?

Leopardprintonsie · 01/04/2023 14:53

The more complaints the better. The same with the TDs, they are getting more anti transgenderism emails than about the housing crisis. And they are replying. They know the tide is turning so we need to keep emailing & keep the momentum going.
I'm sure Roderic was inundated with angry emails this morning & rightly so🤣🤣

Leopardprintonsie · 01/04/2023 16:18

The woman hating womanphobes are not liking all the people in Ireland emailing the tds! Panti's knickers in a twist all day retweeting!
Lets up the ante & let ALL our TDs & Ministers know we want womens rights & spaces for biological women only.

The far right and Prosecco swilling Brits me arse.

Murphys stout more to my taste. Or Smithwicks on a warm day.

As for the TRAs suddenly going all Tiocfaidh , well I went on quite a few Troops Out marches in my time and don't recall seeing any of the Teni or PBP crowd.
Now I might be doing them a disservice. Maybe Panti was there and I didn't recognise him in his balaclava.

There were plenty of LGB ppl mind you . And one rather attractive lad in a red ball gown at one demo. His placard said ' Gay Revolutionary Caucus'. Despite my best efforts on Google I can't discover who or what that is! Despite his dress he was adamantly Gay ....not trans.

The ironic part is so many of these twits are Americans , Brits , Aussies etc themselves though they adopt mystical Celtic Goddess names. Agrees them as Gaeilge and it's béal dúnta.

Having said that I have in fact voted PBP , Green and Soc Dem as I thrash about in a futile attempt to elect a slightly less Thatcherite govt. I've never not voted or spoiled a ballot 🗳. But the options are looking a bit bleak.

Abhannmor · 02/04/2023 10:35

*address not agree grr..

Leopardprintonsie · 02/04/2023 10:40

Options are bleak but it was so heartwarming to see the united front between the lgb & straight community under Rodericks comical tweet.. The trans were too scared to comment, not a peep out of Panti or any of them in the comments 🤣

Richard Boyd-Barratt is in my constituency and I have voted for him before, but he is full on TWAW so I won't ever vote him again. The problem is, who is left?

Leopardprintonsie · 02/04/2023 11:36

Asked the same on a different thread. Who is going to stand up for women's rights for biological women?

Genesis1v27 · 02/04/2023 11:39

Aontú, some independents, and certain of the more independently-minded members of FF/FG seem the only options.

I have thought about this many times. There is no viable party to vote for on when you look at it. In reality most politicians in FF/FG are not fully committed to TWAW cause, especially if they deem it a threat to their reelection. The more people that speak to them about the changes to the curriculum the better.

There does appear to be quite a few politicians on the left who are true believers. The likes of Sinn Fein it’s hard to predict where they will go with this. The power structure doesn’t seem to be the same. I just don’t understand why so much of the left is in thrall to identity politics. It clearly doesn’t improve the lives of the ordinary voter. It’s such an elitist idea.

Leopardprintonsie · 02/04/2023 12:29

The only thing is a lot of the politician's have lost the lgb vote also. Just look at the comments under Roderics post.

butterfliesanddoves · 02/04/2023 12:40

The likes of Sinn Fein it’s hard to predict where they will go with this.

Mary Lou has a sibling who is transgender and who Mary Lou fully supports.
They don't say much about the topic, but as they are usually very vocal if they see an easy way to get votes, their silence on this one is ominous IMO.
A coalition with PBP, Labour, the Greens and the Social Democrats would be even worse than what we have now, and what we have now is bad enough.

I agree, I don't understand why so many politicians are going along with this. It's clearly not a vote winner. Many of them are shooting themselves in the foot for this (look at Nicola Sturgeon)and yet they plough on regardless. It's just weird.
The cynical part of me thinks there's brown envelopes at play from pharmaceutical companies or something. It just doesn't make sense - this wasn't a grassroots movement like the abortion referendum or even marriage equality - this was a curveball out of nowhere, and suddenly they are staking everything on it, despite knowing full well the majority of voters aren't on board.

Fianna Fáils Mary Butler has a trans child top. I think the agenda is to normalise transgenderism as much as possible to make society more comfortable for their loved ones. It's too close to home now. You can tell by Mehole's eyerollling..
Well I'm not comfortable with men invading my personal daughters space & mine. Why should we compromise.

Minister: I am so proud of my mother's reaction when my son transitioned

Fianna Fáil junior minister Mary Butler said supports for children who are transgender are 'very poor' in this country and 'are not where they should be'

Genesis1v27 · 02/04/2023 13:55

The US State Department, the EU, the UN, international and domestic NGOs all push this heavily.

Politicians here must be made to account by their voters for the consequences of what they are doing. Questions at clinics, open letters to the papers, area leaflets, and so on.

Make Jennifer Carroll McNeill, Richard Boyd Barrett and the rest state on record where sex offenders like BK should be held. Make them state their position on mixed-sex hospital wards and school toilets. Make them say whether they support or oppose the graphic education materials being pushed on young children. They need to see and be told that this is a vote loser.

Leopardprintonsie · 02/04/2023 14:08

Don't forget that fool Paul Murphy!

Genesis1v27 · 02/04/2023 14:23

He's a lost cause, but having his voters hear him defend his positions would be a good thing.
