When do you put the heating on?

I’ve turned the heating on as it’s super chilly in the house. Already got warm socks and a blanket but got me thinking when do others put their heating on?

I swore I wouldn’t put it on before October but here I am…

But it will say that the likelihood of dying noticeably increases
Isn't that due to the increased risk that cold temperatures can have to people with chronic health conditions and other health issues that can happen as a result of a property being cold/poorly heated/poorly ventilated such as mould and damp?

I didn't know that.
I'd always thought the colder house deaths were due to underlying issues or secondary issues from housing problems. That's something I'm going to look into more now.

Healthy people can handle that stress but cold can pull trigger on those with underlying problems, it doesn't need to be the fabric of the house. So, heart attacks for instance, increase in number in the cold.

This is interesting too. Research here suggests that, controlling for all the obvious confounding factors, living in a cold home can cause mental distress too.
