Second time for me. First time was July of 2020 (asymptomatic then)

How are you doing? What symptoms do you have? How long ago did it start for you?

I tested positive this morning after I had an inkling that my 'cold' could possibly be covid.

I have a mild cough, bit pleghmy and my body aches. I was hot and cold throughout the night so didn't sleep well at all. Very scary dreams too Confused

I have 3 young children, two of which started feeling unwell on Monday but are alot better now bar some snot. I'm a little worried about my baby though, he's 4 months. He seems fine during the day but during the night he sounds quite croaky and congested.

If anybody wants to keep us company whilst we recover that would be lovely as I'm a tiny bit nervous.

Hello 👋 I'm on day 5. My 6yo has just had it and is back to school. My 2yo is still testing negative but has a vomiting bug instead.
I mostly feel like that bit of a hangover where you know the full force of it is approaching bit you might just have enough time to grab a glass of water!

Leftittothelastminute · 11/03/2022 13:07

Day 5 here...... thought I was feeling a bit better today so attempted to clean the bathroom. Big mistake- back on the sofa now! Lesson learnt!

That's a very good description and relatable Grin

My partner had a temperature on Monday but tested negative, until today.

Sorry to hear your toddler has a vomiting bug, poor little thing.

I haven't a clue what day I'm on to be honest, I was exhausted on Monday and needed to sleep for two hours at midday which is unusual for me but then I felt fine again until Wednesday.

I'm dosing up on vitamin D, C and hot Lemsip. The latter definitely takes the edge off Brew

Oh no, what symptoms do you have?

The house has descended into a bit of a mess since we've all been ill and I'm desperate to get the Hoover out.. I don't think I'll bother after reading that 😬

I hope you feel much better soon!

Day 6. Second time for me, first was May 2021.
I have been very tired with mild cold symptoms and a cough.
I think I’m on the mend though now.

That's really heartening to know you're getting better by day 6, hopefully it won't be too long for us.

Has anybody else had the body aches and shivering in the night? That was unpleasant. I hope I can get a better kip tonight.

DD10 tested positive yesterday morning.

Did the test because there are cases in her class and she woke up with a slightly sore throat.

Sore throat didn't last long but she developed a temperature and bad headache by lunchtime yesterday. Still the same today, except now also not eating and hasn't left her bed except to go to the loo all day. No cough or cold symptoms at all.

WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 11/03/2022 13:28

Day 5 for me. First day I’ve been able to get out of bed. Have cleaned my bathroom sink and toilet and am back to resting. Am hoping by the end of the day I can finish the bathroom, change my bed and have a shower and wash my hair.
Not convinced I’ll be back at work next week.

pooiepooie25 · 11/03/2022 13:42

Day three for me. Never had it before and was beginning to think I am immune. Primary teacher with my own child at secondary so constantly surrounded by germs. I have a bad cold and a sore throat but apart from that, not too bad.

I have been off school as we still have to isolate so I have been working at home until about 2pm when I get really tired.

Felt a lot worse before Xmas with a sinus infection. Hopefully it won't get any worse.

Frosty1000 · 11/03/2022 14:51

My 6 yr old tested positive this morning. He came home yesterday absolutely shattered then was really listless this morning. Positive line before control one. He's flaked out on sofa with a duvet, raging temperature, shivering, bad tummy, full of snot and coughing.

WhoWants2Know · 11/03/2022 15:05

Youngest tested positive on Sunday and didn't move from the sofa for two days, but she was cheerful as long as we kept up with painkillers and lucozade.

I tested positive last night and today I'm freezing cold, head and whole body aches, nauseous, retching and dizzy if I stand too long. My nose is going like a tap, and it's miserable. I know I will probably feel better if I take something but I'm afraid I'll just be sick.

Meanwhile oldest tested positive this morning and the pair of them are gleefully playing games on their phone.

ancientgran · 11/03/2022 17:24

I'm day 12 so hoped I'd be feeling better but I think I'm getting worse. It is like a bad dose of flu (I've had flu twice) plus a chest infection. I'm so tired and sore I feel really teary.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 11/03/2022 17:30

Tested positive this morning. Voice started going on Wednesday, test was clear Wed night. Developed into flu symptoms yesterday so tested again this morning and had a very clear positive. My temperature has been up and down all night, phlegmy cough, really sore throat, hardly any voice, headache, runny nose. Any exertion like nipping upstairs, grabbing laundry and putting it on is exhausting (I normally run around like a mad thing) Also can't take deep breaths without it catching and rattling. Generally feeling crap.

Whataboutno · 11/03/2022 17:32

I'm day 2, I feel so awful and hot and cold. Can't sleep for the aching. Feel like I'm going to be sick too. It's a lot worse than I imagined and doesn't feel "mild" like people have said.

HalloHello · 11/03/2022 17:53

Day 8 here, have had cough, congestion, sore throat, hot and cold, muscle aches and a head ache in various stages and strengths 🙈 caught it from my 4 year old who just have a fever for a few hours then been absolutely well since then! DH is day 6 and very congested and my poor 6 month old was absolutely fine, but has croup now so just watch for that. He is ok but has some steroids just in case! Hope you're ok!

Luckyme2 · 11/03/2022 18:01

Day 2 here and sounds like we’ve got very similar symptoms OP. Even down to the hot and cold during the night and scary dreams! I’m coughing a bit today but symptoms didn’t start with any cough at all. I’m exhausted!

Verity226 · 11/03/2022 18:02

Gosh a fair few of us (and our DC)

I hope you're all managing to get a decent amount of rest? I feel like I really, really need some. It's not very easy with young DC is it.

I've managed to grab half an hour to myself so I've run a hot bath and but a ton of epsom salts in it for the aching. It's strange because even when I've felt boiling hot I didn't have a readable fever, unlike the kids.

Interesting about croup! I thought baby DS had that, before we thought about covid, he sounded very croup-like but then it went away, only to return for about an hour or so in the middle of the night.

Wishing all of you and your little ones a speedy recovery

I'm on day 3. Day 1 was a headache and painful sinuses. Day 2 and last night it was aching legs, shivering - felt absolutely chilled to the bone - then suddenly started sweating for hours. Couldn't really sleep. Kept waking up every hour.

Today I'm up and about feeling a bit sniffly and a mild sore throat. My period has also started which is exactly what I needed alongside Covid Hmm

I'm feeling OK now but will see what tonight brings.

Can I ask what you dreamt of?

Mine was horrible. In it, I went to the opticians for a long overdue eye test and ended up being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour and told I had a few days to live! It was so surreal and I remember feeling so poorly in the dream and all of the emotions that I would feel if that were the case. Pure desperation and denial, eager to cling on to life.

So so weird. Never had a dream like it.

I'm due on tomorrow too, I always feel like crap for the first few days so it'll be a double whammy this month Envy

I hope you stay feeling semi ok!

I was being strangled by a former colleague who I actually get on really well with! I was so so frightened! Woke up feeling really disturbed. Hope you’re feeling better soon

Xanadu58 · 11/03/2022 18:08

Mine started with a sore throat on Tuesday, did a LFT and came up positive straightaway. Have had shivers , cough , headache , runny nose and sneezing . Have lost my sense of smell but not taste (yet)!

Verity226 · 11/03/2022 20:01

Lucky that's so frightening, you poor thing. I know exactly what you mean when you say you woke up feeling disturbed. Dreams like that tend to stay with you for a while. I hope we both have a much more restful night tonight.

I'm not holding out much hope on my end though, OH is a miserable git when he's ill and he keeps falling asleep on the sofa leaving me to juggle 3 little ones when every joint on my body feels like it's on fire Envy

I haven't lost my sense of taste or smell yet and I hope it stays that way, totally lost my appetite though

Second time around for me. First time was March 2020. Youngest (5) tested positive first and we have all caught off her so all 4 are isolating at home.

I'm on day 3/4. I've had pretty much all the symptoms but anyone else have sensation their sinuses are burning?

Today my lungs really ache and i just feel exhausted. Sooo over Covid!!

Whataboutno · 11/03/2022 21:13

I am so grateful for my partner today literally don't know how I would have got through today if he wasn't here.

@verity226 I have lost my appetite too the smell of food is making me nauseous.

Hope you all have a better night's sleep tonight.
