Just wondering how it's going for you, what day you're on and what you're doing today.

I'm not really sure which day I'm on - iffy throat for an hour Monday (which isn't uncommon for me), had a really bad night Tuesday even/night, didn't feel great Wednesday, but only tested positive Thursday. I've done what could be a day 5 test and T line is brighter than C line. I have times when I can function, other times I just can't do or cope with anything. My symptoms are mild compared to DH who's really struggling - he had an iffy throat like me Sunday evening but didn't test positive until Tuesday. He's struggling to swallow, very red eyes, lots of sneezing and coughing still - he's done for.

We're both up (can't sleep anyway). The limit of our day is tv, internet and reading a couple of pages here and there. Bathroom needs cleaning and I can see bits and dust everywhere, but can't face that!

Tested positive early Wednesday morning. Felt tired and coldy on Wednesday, lots better on Thursday and back to work Friday. Bit bunged up today but otherwise fine. Hoping for a negative LFT on Sunday.

Himawarigirl · 05/02/2022 12:04

I haven’t felt great since Monday and had sore throat but nothing major and was able to keep going and had negative lateral flows. Then we all tested positive on Thursday and yesterday and today I feel really terrible and am in bed. Fortunately my husband had his worst day and was in bed on Thursday when I was still managing. He rallied pretty quickly thank goodness and was able to take over when I went downhill yesterday as we have three young kids. Feel achey, runny nose, cough, headache, very tired etc. It’s not fun is it?

Katya213 · 05/02/2022 12:05

That all sounds about right, after a few days you will start to feel better. I just couldn't do anything but sit on the sofa watching TV. Hope you get better soon!!

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 05/02/2022 12:06

Tested positive Sunday, had some initial fluey symptoms and an upset stomach and muscle aches on days 1-2 then fine apart from being really tired. I pottered around doing some housework yesterday, changing beds and getting the washing on and it exhausted me. Woke up this morning (day 6) full of cold, still really tired and my positives are stronger/come up faster than they were at the beginning.

Overall if it hadn't been covid I would have dosed up on lemsip and struggled on at work and been exhausted probably dragging the virus out. My line manager texted me telling me not to return until I felt up to it even if I had negatives which was very supportive. I suppose it helps that I got it from them and they struggled on their recent return to work. It makes such a difference being given the permission to be ill and recover properly instead of rushing back because your boss is angry at you as some posters on other threads have experienced.

BlueAbacus · 05/02/2022 12:06

Tested positive yesterday after developing a splitting headache out of nowhere. Coldy and bunged up today, fuzzy headed but all very ‘upper respiratory’ so far. I’m resting as DH is home and can handle the DCs, but would be able to cope with them if I had to. Fingers crossed it continues like this.

FlamingoYellow · 05/02/2022 12:06

I've no idea what day I'm on. I had itchy eyes and felt a bit congested mon/tues, sore throat on Wednesday/Thursday, faint positive lft yesterday, slightly stronger positive today. My plan is to test every day until I get two negatives or it's Friday, whichever comes soonest. I would love it if I could be free on Monday because I've spent all week isolating with my DS and I'm desperate to leave the house. Plus it's annoying with organising different people to do the school run for me for the second week running.
Today is day 5 or 4 or possibly 3 for me and I feel absolutely fine. A little tired maybe but nothing too awful.

whymewhyme · 05/02/2022 12:09

I'm on day 10 today, i had a banging head and the most awfull eye ache, shivering but no feever, aching all over, coughing, sneezing and totally exhausted. Like you i had moments wherebi could do stuff snd other
es where i just couldn't function and kept doing everything wrong, my ds was the same he kept having meltdowns! I do feel better now just exhaused!

shouldistop · 05/02/2022 12:10

My 5yo has Covid just now. He had 2 days of flu like symptoms; high fever, body aches & headache. He's on day 4 now and completely fine. Has never tested positive on a lateral flow and the rest of the household are well with negative lateral flows

Inmyownlittlecorner · 05/02/2022 12:15

Started a bit of a sore throat last Saturday (29th), felt like I had a bit of hay fever on Sunday, scratchy throat etc, went to work on Monday after taking an antihistamine & a negative LF, but that evening starting coughing & felt full of cold. Tested positive that evening. All I’ve had so far is mild sore throat & horrid sinus type headache, a few coughs but nothing of note, I’m quite fatigued but could easily function. DH has no symptoms at all & tested positive the day after me. I’m still testing (very faint) positive on day 7 from first symptoms (day 5 from positive test).

Snoopsnoggysnog · 05/02/2022 13:08

DD tested positive last Sunday and i started getting symptoms on Tuesday. LFT was negative but I had all the COVID symptoms so got a PCR on Wed which came back positive on Thursday.

Work was crazy Thursday and Friday so powered through but I felt shattered by yesterday evening.
Today I don’t have a lot of symptoms apart from a cough but I feel achy and very tired.

Yes to the shivers but no fever - what’s that about?
So I guess I’m on day 4 now. DD and I still testing positive on LFT.

Candyflosscrochet · 05/02/2022 13:44

Whole household (6 of us) have it at present. Me and 3 kids are now day 5 and I did a lft this morning which was brighter than the control line! DH and eldest on day 2.
Started as sore throats for us all and nasty colds....I've had no voice for the past 3 days and I didn't think a 7month old could produce so much snot!!! But overall, we've all faired well thankfully.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 05/02/2022 13:51

Husband tested positive last Friday after experiencing night sweats on Thursday evening. Son tested positive on Saturday, but then negative on Sunday and Monday, so we think he was asymptomatic and brought it home and we only caught his positive on the last day, so he's been going to school. I tested positive on Sunday. We've all been asymptomatic aside from my husbands night sweats And I had a scratchy throat for a few hours last Thursday and Friday, but once I tested positive I had no symptoms at all. I've been taking vitamin D 3x a day along with other vitamins including vit c 2x a day And zinc 2x a day. Honestly wouldn't have known any of us were positive had we not tested.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 05/02/2022 13:54

If your son is asymptomatic he should be isolating for 10 days from the day of the test unless he tests negative on day 5 and 6 surely

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 05/02/2022 14:04

We think we caught his positive on the last day, so essentially day 5. He's since tested negative 4 times. Only tested him because one of the other children in his class tested positive. He probably had it a week prior and we didn't know, so keeping him home to isolate wouldn't have served much purpose
Snoopsnoggysnog · 05/02/2022 14:06

Fair enough

ifonly4 · 05/02/2022 15:29

There's a few of us who've had symptoms before testing positive - the amount of times I heard people with cold symptoms saying they're negative because they've done a LFT! It took four tests before I had the slightest line 60 hours after feeling off.

12 Yr old DD just tested positive. It's a real shame as she's been really diligent at staying away from me, has done most of the cooking and cleaning, cat care, hasn't been in the same room as me all week, kept all the windows open as she had Covid previously and was really poorly with it temperature above 40 for five days etc and didn't want to catch it again. Hopefully she'll have similar symptoms to me this time around which have been fairly mild if exhausting.

GetTheGoodLookingGuy · 05/02/2022 16:41

I'm on Day 8 today, and had my first negative this morning! My initial positive was really faint, then two really strong positives on days 5 and 6, very faint postive yesterday and now negative.

I've had a few coldy symptoms - felt tired and rubbish last Saturday, but if it wasn't covid I would've been fine to to go work every other day. Yesterday and today I've felt fine - a bit of a residual cough, and an on-and-off headache which doesn't last long enough to need painkillers.

I think I've got off pretty lightly all told - I hope everyone who's ill with it right now feels better soon!

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 19:30

Tuesday - headache (negative)
Wednesday - headache and runny nose (negative)
Thursday - same (negative) with chesty cough
Friday - same (positive) with a bit of a heavy chest feeling
Today - same as yesterday

Live with two young sons and a husband. All negative so far.

Oti22 · 05/02/2022 19:42

I wouldn’t trust a negative LFT either! DP tested positive on Tuesday (we presume he picked it up on Saturday), I tested positive on a PCR on Thursday but not on a LFT till Friday...

According to my NHS dates my day 1 is Thursday based on the PCR but I didn’t feel 100% Wednesday and was in bed very early, felt awful Thursday (sore throat, nausea, whole body fatigue, rash), Friday and today a mild cough and a runny nose.

I’m pregnant so I didn’t know if my Wed/Thursday symptoms were pregnancy related or not but my midwife referred me to Telehealth for monitoring and they said the symptoms I had on Thursday were more common from their experience with omicron than a cough...

DP is still a strong positive on day 5 so not sure how likely early escape from isolation will be for us 😩

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 19:50

Sounds like your weds symptoms were covid x

BethDutton · 05/02/2022 19:56

I was fine on Monday when DS (teen) tested positive. Fine on Tuesday and tested negative.

Unwell since Wednesday, like the worst head cold. Certain I had it. Only tested positive today. Sneezing, tickly cough, blocked nose, struggling to sleep, headaches.

Oti22 · 05/02/2022 19:58

@mulberrybag5 I think so! Glad I went for the PCR x

BethDutton · 05/02/2022 20:01

If I’ve felt crap since Wednesday anyone want to guess when I’ll start to improve? No particular reason I just am tired of feeling unwell. Thanks.

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 20:02

@BethDutton It’s so odd that so many of us test positive several days after starting to feel unwell. How’s your chest feel? Mine feels a bit heavy but it could be anxiety!
