Be honest, would you self isolate now?

If you got a message saying you had been in contact with someone who has tested positive and were asked to self isolate, would you?

Yes

Wherediditgo · 07/07/2021 21:01

I don’t have the app for this reason, so no.

Contacted by NHS test and trace? Yes.
Told to by my son’s nursery? Yes

UpSlyDown · 07/07/2021 21:01

I don’t think so. I definitely won’t be making my children self isolate without so much as a walk outside again.

Haggisfish3 · 07/07/2021 21:02

Yes-this variant seems much more transmissible to me.

IvorHughJarrs · 07/07/2021 21:02

Ilikewinter · 07/07/2021 21:03

HalzTangz · 07/07/2021 21:03

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 07/07/2021 21:04

Test and trace - yes.
School or nursery bubble bursting - yes
App ping - no (though I now have this turned off).

Whyarewehardofthinking · 07/07/2021 21:04

Yes, as I have students who are CEV and have not been vaccinated (although one parent is working in it). I'd rather not be responsible for someone catching it from me.

MoMuntervary · 07/07/2021 21:05

Yes.

Blankspace4 · 07/07/2021 21:06

I’ve been double jabbed, so no. I would take a lateral flow test each day though.

It seems important people can find a multitude of exemptions now, so why should it be one rule for one and one for another.

Hyacinth88 · 07/07/2021 21:06

Yes
I know of two double vaccinated people who have caught the delta variant and are moderately unwell.
So 100% yes

Southwestrunningmum · 07/07/2021 21:06

You don’t have a burner phone like everyone else….???

DaisyWaldron · 07/07/2021 21:07

Definitely yes. I work in a public facing job, in close proximity to several other people. Three of my colleagues are carers for disabled relatives. No way would I risk passing Covid on to them. Two of my colleagues have recently had to isolate - one of them went on to develop Covid. If he hadn't isolated, the whole business would have had to shut for 10 days. The Delta variant can be spread in 15 seconds of indirect contact between unmasked people, and lots of people, including clinically vulnerable children and adults with serious health conditions don't have immunity. I'm not prepared to risk other people's health, or cause the inconvenience of isolation for other people if I don't have to.

ItsSnowJokes · 07/07/2021 21:09

Yes cos I'm not a selfish wanker.

Spekoppar · 07/07/2021 21:11

Yes, currently am

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 07/07/2021 21:11

Nope !

Zampa · 07/07/2021 21:12

Yes. I'm double vaccinated but a close contact of a positive case and currently isolating. It's grim but I'm not being the one to pass Covid 19 to someone who might be vulnerable.

I completely sympathise with those burying their heads in the sand but 10 days is nothing compared to someone's life/quality of life with long Covid.

I get why people are
