Anyone feeling increasingly anxious about Pfizer?

With all the news re the AZ & J&J vaccines I can’t help but feel a sense of dread when checking the news.

I am starting to think it’s only a matter of time until something horrific comes out about the Pfizer vaccine (which I had)

What a strange time to be alive. Sometimes I still can’t believe this is all happening.

I'm not. Had my first Pfizer jab last week, looking forward to my next one.

dementedpixie · 13/04/2021 17:56

If you had it and were OK then why are you worrying about it now?

Dowser · 13/04/2021 17:57

I’m feeling increasingly anxious about them all..and I don’t watch the news

If you had it a while ago and you’re fine now I wouldn’t worry about it.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 13/04/2021 17:58

I've had both and I don't care. It's better than being on a ventilator.

corlan · 13/04/2021 17:58

I had my second dose about a month ago and I'm fine and dandy. All the ailments I have are the same ones I had before getting vaccinated Wink

Doireallyneedaname · 13/04/2021 17:59

@dementedpixie Because I never expected I’d be seeing what’s happened with the other vaccines, so now I’m expecting the unexpected.

As more people are vaccinated and more data is released I feel worry that those “long term effects” I rolled my eyes at may be a reality.

I’m aware I’m a particularly anxious person but it’s actually quite hard not to be given the situation.

Horrific? Look at the actual numbers.

I hope you never travel by car if you are this worried about risk.

PotteringAlong · 13/04/2021 17:59

No.

Are you suffering from horrendous side effects? Then don’t worry about it.

TheFlis12345 · 13/04/2021 17:59

Nothing ‘horrific’ has come out about the other 2 vaccines so why would it about Pfizer? The blood clot hysteria is absolutely ridiculous, the risk is less than long haul flying and way, way less than taking the contraceptive pill or 101 other medications.

PoTheDog · 13/04/2021 18:01

Seriously?! I know I sound horrible saying this, but all these type of threads make me despair at this country's lack of scientific literacy.

herecomesthsun · 13/04/2021 18:01

Still very pleased we have Pfizer. I have my second jab on Saturday. It is a much much better prospect for me than getting covid.

I can't believe we have so many good vaccines in such a short time!

Doireallyneedaname · 13/04/2021 18:02

Right, let’s just clarify straight up that the clots with the vaccines are not “just clots” Hmm I’m so fed up of hearing that.

They’re potentially FATAL brain clots which are extremely dangerous and unusual in younger people normally.

OP posts:
Doireallyneedaname · 13/04/2021 18:04

@PoTheDog Ridiculous. Other countries have now got strict criteria and some have abandoned those vaccines all together because of the risk. I suppose you know better?

If people actually read the insert of any medicine you'd never take anything. OP these types of rare risks are no different to any other medicine. It's just high profile as it's under the spotlight in the media. Please assess your anxiety levels and seek help. Your risk in other areas of life are much greater. We live with risk every day.

Frequentflier · 13/04/2021 18:08

I am going to predict that every single vaccine will have some very rare side effects. If you are not willing to risk those, don't take the vaccine. Plenty others will want it.

Temp023 · 13/04/2021 18:08

I don’t feel particularly anxious about any of the vaccines licensed by the MHRA.
Worked with them for 30 years, best regulatory agency on the planet!

Doireallyneedaname · 13/04/2021 18:09

@Scottishgirl85 I can’t think of any medicine I’ve taken that has a risk of CVST after one dose.

OP posts:
Doireallyneedaname · 13/04/2021 18:10

@Frequentflier I already have. As a young and healthy 30 year old. My risk of Covid is supposedly low. I was worried about that too, though!

OP posts:
Temp023 · 13/04/2021 18:10

Oh but please have the vaccine, because that’s what stops the rise of these pesky variants.

Bluntness100 · 13/04/2021 18:10

Gosh op. It’s clear you’re not ok and struggling. All medicines have risks. Do you refuse nurofen in case you habe a stroke or a heart attack?

Can you try to calm down and put it into context?

Temp023 · 13/04/2021 18:12

What some people need is something real to worry about..

Frequentflier · 13/04/2021 18:14

I thought you still had your second dose? Id you have had both then maybe its time to stop watching the news.

Doireallyneedaname · 13/04/2021 18:15

Are people not allowed to be worried anymore?

OP posts:
ineedaholidaynow · 13/04/2021 18:17

Do you ever fly, a friend of my parents died as a result of DVT after flying.

Do you ever go in a car?

How did you travel to where you had your vaccine?

Doireallyneedaname · 13/04/2021 18:18

@ineedaholidaynow This isn’t DVT though, is it.
