Then it not at you is it.
It’s all the people making rationalisations up to break the rules. As cumulatively they cause this.
I know 15 people who have caught it. Plus another 21 in DH's place of work. They all caught it whilst working despite following the rules. They are HCP's, bus driver, teachers, school pupils, supermarket staff, bin lorry crew, 2 policemen.

It's not black and white OP. Infection is not simply driven by rule breakers.

Lots of people including me are following the rules and in doing so suffering in the extreme.
@Msmcc1212 no I won't report. I don't agree with it and won't go but I'm not about to start calling police
Why not?

Wasn’t me saying I wouldn’t report. I wrote that I assumed the PP would. I think it’s a crime (it is illegal) and could cost lives so I would feel a duty to report it to prevent loss of life.

SpnBaby1967 · 23/01/2021 19:14

All those people in hospital must have broken the rules to catch covid.....they should be ashamed of themselves!!

Clearly I jest, but I dont understand why everyone is guilty of spreading covid but never guilty of catching it. You inadvertently catch and spread a microscopic virus that is just going around doing what viruses do best and you're some kind of criminal, but if you're out and about and catch covid and end up in hospital you're some poor unsuspecting victim.

It's all fucking bonkers!!!

That is a fair and valid point. Scientifically those with severe Covid that requires hospitalisation are technically both infected from another human vector and would be also highly likely to have spread it too to others hence why it starts with one human vector source and spreads exponentially so much so that not only is the globe infected (possibly guesstimate at least 10% but obviously no daily compulsory and accurate testing to know for sure!) but in high Covid density environments it super mutates faster too into more deadly and infectious variants.

Moral of the story as ever is check your potential Covid footprint and if possible stay out of or severely limit potential human to human close proximity environments if at all possible. The science is now widely known and agreed as to spread hence the hands, face and trace number. Of course this is not always possible but being out for the first time for a fortnight (as although not medically vulnerable I am connected to those with less health privilege) and note there was a sense of no quasi lockdown whatsoever. Food shops be it groceries supermarkets or cafes (offering take out) were noticeably packed with no social distancing plus many unmasked. It’s no wonder why this is super spreading and mutating. Why is waiting in a massive queue for coffee essential when the pandemic is so serious? This is possibly life changing but not in the way you may think as although a big coffee person myself it’s something you just have to skip in a pandemic! The more we collectively moderate our combined behaviours with incremental steps the more we can kiss good bye to all these restrictions for good! I am not suggesting hundreds of people in a queue waiting for coffee is going to kill anyone/many - but scientifically that’s a likely cause and not a part of the solution!

I am back to hibernating and doing my bit! Although I was previously frequently (privately) asymptomatic tested (always negative but still anxious to know for sure) but now just given up as unless out and about daily I hope be safe in my home fortress environment.

We could all watch a UNICEF video of babies dying...that’s just as tragic.

You're right. Nobody needs a drink when they're out and about. Drinking and eating? Double how very dare people! Hmm People are allowed to get a drink if they need/want one. Honestly, it's getting ridiculous - you might feel more comfortable holing up in your "fortress" but you can't expect people to never go out - they're not doing anything wrong.

@ Quaagars

No one is technically breaking the current emergency criminal laws BUT do you think pushing the boundaries of such laws based on science has any correlation with overall community health outcomes?!

Is not what you are suggesting the very reason why we are collectively in this mess?

No one is asking you to anything than moderate your pre pandemic behaviour - stay home until this mutating virus can be contained (a bit) and finally be under some sort of control while vaccines are being administered.

Are you truly suggesting that it is ridiculous to not be a small part of the solution than forever another reason for the cause?

Would you behave that way if you or your loved ones end up hospitalised or worse as with a former 100000 Brits already? Plus probably as many with ongoing long post Covid syndrome which will further challenge already overwhelmed NHS. Tell me you do not know even one person - friend, family, neighbour, work colleague has been or knows someone directly impacted by this pandemic either health if not wealth?

If you think it is fine to be in mass gatherings (just for drink) then that is your legal choice. However as much as it may be legal (unless laws change further by necessity) - would you think these forthcoming actions will result in more liberties being taken away on health and safety grounds? How many fellow Brits need to die or suffer life long post Covid syndrome before you think about moderating your potential Covid footprint?

You come across as if there is no pandemic in your bubble/locality (brilliant if true!) but I am in central London with family and neighbours who are doctors on the front line literally saving lives (not guaranteed!) tell a very very different story.

Have you come across the new television and media Covid “advertisements?” Possibly designed to address the indifferent and Covidiots who yes started the super spreading through their combined actions. This can include joining a huge queue just to grab coffee. I love coffee but Covid not so much! Good coffee will always be on tap if we get through this pandemic and that starts with a mindset recalibration followed by Covid awareness behaviour. What you suggest is just prolonging the pandemic and quasi lockdowns not shortening it! Some people just don’t and will not get it!

As you were....and stay safe.

So what do you want me to do after watching that, OP? I feel numb, tbh.

Covidiots part of the perpetual problems not the solution:

Police injured breaking up 200-strong party in Knightsbridge as revellers fled

Is there an agenda here, of civil unrest? The new strain is seeing young fit people going through weeks of hell in icu now. Or do you think it is fake news? Have you watched the videos?

We could all watch a UNICEF video of babies dying...that’s just as tragic the videos are to try to get people in the uk to take action to stop things getting worse so their aim is different from the tragic videos you mention

Where on earth do you get parties from what I said?! Not a clue what you're talking about, sorry - civil unrest? Agenda?! I was talking about getting a coffee which people are perfectly OK to do
