@roarfeckingroarr

I would share what emails sms’s etc you have on this party with the police.

If you don’t you are effectively supporting a crime.

Why can’t you just say what it’s about?

Xerochrysum · 20/01/2021 07:59

What do you want us to know? Shouting down at people won't do any good. It definitely put me off clicking your link, since I don't know what I will be watching.

TheGreatWave · 20/01/2021 07:59

@Feedingthebirds1

The OP was very clear that her thread is aimed at those who don't stick to the rules, who find excuses why the rules don't apply to them and will take advantage of any perceived loophole to do what the hell they want.

So why are lots of people who are sticking to the rules piling in and being facetious?

No they weren't. We were told we all had to watch it, and I'd imagine that they are the type of person who has made up a load of rules anyway.
Skipsurvey · 20/01/2021 08:07

you are not going to reach our desired audience.
do the best yourself op

Londonnight · 20/01/2021 08:09

This was on the BBC news last night, it is absolutely heartbreaking.

Unfortunately I don't think you will change the way people behave. We will get the ones who abide by rules and the opposite who feel it isn't a risk to them. You won't change that mindset.

HerrWanksock · 20/01/2021 08:17

What a sanctimonious twatty thing to post. Learn? Be ashamed? Catch yourself on.

You were either the prefect at school that everyone hated or, more likely, you were desperate to be a prefect but weren't picked.

LemmysAceCard · 20/01/2021 08:22

I am following the rules, i hardly set foot outside the door. I have nothing to be ashamed of, anybody i know who has got Covid has caught it from work and not because they were out partying.

GnomeDePlume · 20/01/2021 08:25

@Skipsurvey do the best yourself op

Sound words not just for the OP but for everyone. Just keep wearing your mask (if you possibly can), washing your hands, staying home (except where you absolutely cant), not meeting up with others.

It is dull but it is this 'Home Front' of fighting the virus which will bring the end to the current situation. The parties/raves, major rule breaks bring the virus into households but it is the minor infractions which then spread it on and out again.

Fembot123 · 20/01/2021 08:26

@Justa47

So all the people who rationalise their breaking of rules watch!!!

Learn!!! Be ashamed!!!

As if they will, you’re just preaching to people who are already following the fucking rules.
TwelvePaws · 20/01/2021 08:26

Heartbreaking video, so so hard for the patients, family and staff.

I follow the rules and don’t feel annoyed at how OP has worded it. I think a bit more straight talking, harsher words and punishment for those who are breaking rules for no good reason should probably have been in place from the start. Some people will always fight against the advice and laws in whatever situation they’re in as they’re like badly behaved children. Punishments for those people are the answer.

Timeontimeoff · 20/01/2021 08:28

@Justa47

Why should I be ashamed for something I didn't do. I didn't watch but imagine it is someone breaking some rule or another. I don't froth up about them because it won't really help. I just carry on following the guidelines and waiting for my vaccine since I'm CEV.

TwelvePaws · 20/01/2021 08:29

I agree but maybe with seeing things like this, some people may be a bit less tolerant of others breaking rules. Maybe next time their neighbour has a party for 15 people on Friday night, they’ll report them.

Skipsurvey · 20/01/2021 08:37

preaching to the converted.

i dont think any of my colleagues watch the news anymore, and havent for ages.
they rule break but not on a grand scale, just going out in pairs for lunch.
you would say that is not breaking the rules but it is the small things that need changing, not the large house parties, those holding parties are absolutely not watching the news or reading mumsnet

Livelovebehappy · 20/01/2021 08:42

People saying ‘I’ve had enough of lockdown, I’m no longer following rules’, don’t you think we’re all beyond fed up with lockdown? What’s the alternative? Letting this hell continue for years? Because if we don’t sort it now, the reality is that this will become the norm for years rather than a few months. I’ve been waiting for an operation for 18 months, postponed three times because of covid. It’s easy to not care when you don’t need access to the NHS, and the fact a lot of hospitals are at capacity doesn’t affect your life, but why can’t people see the bigger picture here? We all have to be singing from the same page, however tough it is.

Anotherdates · 20/01/2021 08:45

@MaxNormal

Learn!!! Be ashamed!!!

I'm sorry but this site is becoming more deranged by the day.

@MaxNormal isn’t it just...

OP I wonder, what did you do before covid?

Presumably you’re not in the government or the police, get a tea and calm yourself.

Anotherdates · 20/01/2021 08:46

@Livelovebehappy people breaking the rules isn’t extending the presence of covid, it makes it spread faster.

Not sure how many times this needs to be said.

Iamsodonewith2020 · 20/01/2021 08:50

Thank you OP. This DID make me think. I am not breaking the rules, am a critical worker and only send my children to school the one day a week my husband is in the office but all this doesn’t matter. it reminded me that although I am struggling and am angry and upset for my children, there are bigger things at stake here. Hopefully those declaring “ No I won’t watch as I’m not breaking rules” could at least have some empathy for those working in NHS covid wards who would give anything to be stuck at home, struggling with home learning and working. Who are witnessing horrors every day that we can’t even imagine

Quaagars · 20/01/2021 08:52

@InterfectoremVulpes

Any chance of a summary or are you expecting people just to click on random links?
This!! Or are we just expected to!! Click on random excitable links!! That tell us to watch!! And be ashamed!! What it's about would be nice
RhubarbAndRoses · 20/01/2021 08:55

@vera99 WAKE UP SHEEPLE !!!!!

Are you serious?! This thread is about people dying. Young, healthy people. Disgusting.

Livelovebehappy · 20/01/2021 08:55

anotherdates it is extending covid. Because we don’t even yet know how effective the vaccine is going to be, or whether people can get it more than once, doesn’t take account of the variants - a few have been identified already, and we don’t know if the vaccine is going to be affective for all variants. Currently the virus is swamping the NHS. Surely following the rules will stem this as will reduce infections. Infections are already falling since lockdown.

TwelvePaws · 20/01/2021 08:58

No, but they’re neighbours might be so maybe those neighbours will see more things like this, feel angrier and report.

2BDIs · 20/01/2021 08:59

Surely the people that have caught it have not been following the rules (apart from the poor souls who caught it in hospital or care homes) . Should they learn!!! And be ashamed!!! Op.
Surely if they were social distancing, wearing masks, never leaving the house and having their shopping delivered they wouldn't have caught it.
Makes you think, doesn't it?

Tiramisuzie · 20/01/2021 09:05

i see rule breakers daily but not allowed to call them out on it

You shouldn't have to. Crime is down all over the country as a result of people staying home and not being out on the piss. Police should be in every town on the beat and should be driving round and stopping people in and out of town.

Why aren't they?

It is not YOUR job to enforce Coronavirus restrictions. It is the states to which you pay huge amounts of tax.
