How long did your test results take?

I had the test at 12.30 Saturday lunchtime at a drive in centre and still nothing. They actually told me they should be back in 24 hours (though I was skeptical of this) but now I'm worried the test may have got lost.

Has anyone else had their results later than 48 hours?

Dd has hers 9.30 on Sat. Still nothing.

VeronicaVanHoopen · 21/09/2020 17:53

We had ours at 1pm on Friday. Nothing yet. Utterly ridiculous.

BlueGreyGreens · 21/09/2020 17:55

4pm yesterday at a walk in centre- nothing yet and I'm not feeling optimistic having read long waiting times on other threads.

My appointment confirmation email said 24-48 hrs for most, with some taking up to 5 days Confused

tigerbear · 21/09/2020 18:01

Oh god, DD had her yesterday, and we haven’t had the result.
DP so frustrated as he’s self employed and was booked up all this week but has obv had to cancel.

SaltyAndFresh · 21/09/2020 18:03

DS (week before last) was three days.

Fast90 · 21/09/2020 18:07

Mine - 24hrs.

DS’ - never arrived (it’s been 10 days)

AntiHop · 21/09/2020 18:07

I was pleasantly surprised. Had a home test as don't drive. Arrival was annoying- it arrived in the evening the day after I ordered it, so I couldn't get it in the post until the next day.

Posted it on Friday, so I presume it arrived on Saturday, and got the results very early this morning (Monday).

CheshireCats · 21/09/2020 18:08

Beginning of September- 75 hours 😠

norbert23 · 21/09/2020 18:13

Sunday morning test at a drive in one, got results at 2pm today (midlands)

Rosehassometoes · 21/09/2020 18:15

10.30 Saturday
2 people tested told 48 hours
1 heard at 3 today (Mon), other not heard yet.

Zebrasandfairytales · 21/09/2020 18:20

Took DD to be tested yesterday at 10:30am and haven’t heard back yet. My friend got her test done half an hour up the road at about 9am yesterday and got her results back at lunchtime today.

coronawonashona · 21/09/2020 18:41

Yes I've heard of quite a few people's results just not coming back I'm lucky that my boss is very understanding but I just hate letting people down! I feel fine for work just have an annoying cough and slightly breathless but I'm asthmatic so normally like this with a cough.

Just out of interest if you have a cough does your coughing mostly stop when sitting still or lying down? This is the case for me it just get really bad when I'm up and about doing stuff which is strange because I thought normally coughs are worse when your lying down?

BlueGreyGreens · 21/09/2020 19:02

I feel the same @coronawonashona, I feel a right fraud, but what can you do?

My cough is worse up and about, definitely. It's ok if I'm lying down or sat on the sofa, and kicks in when I get up and walk about. My chest hurts too. HOWEVER, I would faint with shock if I tested positive as I've been exposed to lots of coughing kids over the last 2 weeks and the school I work in has had zero positive cases. I'm assuming random non-Covid bug as I'm not sure where else I'd have picked anything up and the evidence points strongly to me having the same unexciting virus as the pupils.

missanony · 21/09/2020 19:06

Following as still waiting

CabernetSoWhat · 21/09/2020 19:07

Also 12:30pm on Saturday at a drive through.

Also nothing yet.

justasyouare · 21/09/2020 19:32

Ds tested at 12pm on Friday a a drive through (south east) . Results came at 11am today, so 71 hours . Was beginning to think they’d been lost.
The instruction booklet actually said up to 5 days Shock

coronawonashona · 21/09/2020 19:40

@justasyouare I'm also south east so that gives me some hope that they might come tomorrow! I'm a nanny and my boss started a new job last week and I'm also meant to be moving house tomorrow so this literally could not have come at a worse time! I'm literally checking my phone every minute waiting for the text!

Northern ireland here. Booked test at 2.05 on Saturday for 3pm same day. Had result for 10am next day

BertieDrapper · 21/09/2020 20:00

DD has test at 8am Saturday and we are still waiting!!
I know the cough is just related to her cold, I was trying to preempt any concerns from the school, thought at most she'd miss one day of school, looking like she will miss 2! And if it comes back as inconclusive then we are screwed as running out of time to get another done .
She's only started school last week! Really don't want her to miss loads of days for a cold!! 😫😫😫

justasyouare · 21/09/2020 20:04

I was also doing the mad refreshing of my email on my phone. In the end the text and email came at exactly the same time so I saw the text first.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 21/09/2020 20:08

26 hours. So relieved to have the result before work tomorrow

Thunderbolted · 21/09/2020 20:09

2.5 days (last week)

coronawonashona · 21/09/2020 20:19

Those of you that have got your results back what time did they come through?

OP posts:
whataboutbob · 21/09/2020 20:23

I’m in London and wondering if that means it will take longer as more people being tested, had test yesterday at 11 am, still waiting.

FastandLoose · 21/09/2020 20:25

DD and me - just inside 48hrs
