How long did your test results take?

I had the test at 12.30 Saturday lunchtime at a drive in centre and still nothing. They actually told me they should be back in 24 hours (though I was skeptical of this) but now I'm worried the test may have got lost.

Has anyone else had their results later than 48 hours?

96 hours. Phoned and escalated and the test results came around 12 hours after that phone call.

bellinisurge · 22/09/2020 07:35

Took a fucking age to get a test - over 36 hours of trying. Got my result in 24 hours.

OhDear2200 · 22/09/2020 07:37

Coming up to 70 hours.

Furious.

snackcurator · 22/09/2020 07:41

So glad you got your results Shona, still nothing for us, despite the "escalation".

BlueGreyGreens · 22/09/2020 09:11

Great news @coronawonashona! I am living the constant excitement/disappointment cycle every time I see a new email alert...

BertieDrapper · 22/09/2020 09:17

@coronawonashona ours must have all come out at the same time as we got ours too!
Just got DD ready so fast for school. Only 10 minutes late so now bad considering I thought she'd miss another day!

stuckagainhelpplease · 22/09/2020 09:20

10 days and still waiting

user1490814754 · 22/09/2020 09:24

Saturday tests seem to have been the most delayed?! We are still waiting after test sat am. In South west

Zebrasandfairytales · 22/09/2020 09:29

Good news about your test results coming back!

Still waiting for Sunday AM test results in Yorkshire.

BertieDrapper · 22/09/2020 09:36

Have you tried calling?
Press the option to book a test to actually speak to someone. They will forward your details to the "delayed test investigation" team...

yomommasmomma · 22/09/2020 09:40

We just got ours too!! All negative yay!

whataboutbob · 22/09/2020 10:44

Nothing here yet ( test at 10:30 Sunday). @glowworm93who did you ring to escalate? Have tried 119 they’re not taking any calls.

Giveronyoursausage · 22/09/2020 10:47

Tested 10am yesterday morning results back just after 6am this morning im in Yorkshire.

whatnow41 · 22/09/2020 11:30

NW tested on Sun at 2.30pm. Still waiting for results. Pretty sure it's not but we have to be cautious don't we?

missanony · 22/09/2020 11:53

I’ve just chased up 119 too who’ve assured me the end of the day. I really hope so.

sebanna · 22/09/2020 11:56

My DH was tested on Monday at midday results came back at 6:30am this morning.

whataboutbob · 22/09/2020 12:21

Have just tried 119 and they have said they will escalate, my husband is a key worker at a centre for people with LDs, which I dropped into the conversation- maybe cheeky but we need to get on with work and school, for the kids.

Idontbelieveit12 · 22/09/2020 12:23

Test was 12pm yesterday, no results yet. Lancashire

IHateCoronavirus · 22/09/2020 13:13

We’re still waiting Hmm I’ve tried 119 a few time’s but they keep saying due to high volumes using the service they no longer chase test results and to isolate for 10 days if you haven’t heard anything in 48 hours.

I wonder if that is the new plan. Just get everyone isolating instead of getting test results back.

The teenagers in the house are getting increasingly anxious missing out on school. Everyone jumps at the sound of each text in hope.

No way people can keep doing this everyone someone gets a temperature or a cough! The cumulative impact over the space of the winter will be immense!

Zebrasandfairytales · 22/09/2020 13:18

@whataboutbob I just rang and said the same thing (which is true for me too!) and they told me to call back tomorrow morning, didn’t even chase. I know they must be so busy but my husband works in a small school that is really short staffed, him being allowed back in would make a huge difference to them. I don’t know why I’m venting on here, just feel frustrated, I know everyone is in similar positions. I just feel so deflated today! Losing another days pay as my husband is self employed...

whataboutbob · 22/09/2020 14:58

It’s not sustainable for everyone to isolate if they have symptoms especially with winter coming, loads of people will get colds and lose sense of smell, maybe have a day where they have a temperature of 38C. They can’t all take 10 days off work and have their kids off school too. World beating indeed!
