Why can't he just answer a question straight?
And also if you have children did he just suggest you tell your employer and stay home? That is not going to go down well!

I've watched the press briefings and more than once Raab or Little Matty have said they are not sure, and they will look into it... more than once.

Roussette · 13/05/2020 11:22

Ooops I'm repeating myself 'more than once' Grin

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 13/05/2020 12:02

"Will The PM list his engagements for the day?"

.....Er. Hang on a minute, Mr Speaker. I've turned up at the last minuste and do not have my papers in order. .....Ah, here we are:

It's a small indication of a wider problem.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 13/05/2020 12:06

This is not a fair fight.

It's like watching a wolf tear the stuffing out of a teddy bear.

Humphriescushion · 13/05/2020 12:11

Yes! At last someone asks about those bloody graphs! And fhe government did the comparing all along, from the start - now you cant compare! Strange that

MarshaBradyo · 13/05/2020 12:14

Oh dear am listening.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 13/05/2020 12:15

He keeps looking round, hoping for support, but there's no one there.

Oh dear.

TinySleepThief · 13/05/2020 12:16

It's like watching a wolf tear the stuffing out of a teddy bear.

I think this is the best analogy I've seen so far.

Keir is super direct in his questioning again and Boris is again just chucking in loads of random irrelevant crap to pad out his answers out.

lyralalala · 13/05/2020 12:17

He reminds me a bit of a guy I worked for once. He’d inherited his Dad’s business and really, really wanted to be good at it and wanted to be as respected as his Dad was.

He was clueless though so it failed right, left and centre

MarshaBradyo · 13/05/2020 12:18

We could do with more of Starmer’s directness atm.

Roussette · 13/05/2020 12:18

He is on the rails. I do like Starmer's cool quiet questioning.

The graphs, yes! Show them to the public when they're good. Stop them when they're bad.

TinySleepThief · 13/05/2020 12:22

Do we really now test more than any other country in Europe? Or is he spouting more crap?

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 13/05/2020 12:22

The Good News is we are no longer the worst in Europe, thanks to Uncle Vlad's decisive leadership in Russia where the doctors fall out of windows and the ventilators expode and burn the hospitals down.

There's always someone worse off than yourself.

lyralalala · 13/05/2020 12:23

@TinySleepThief I’m assuming by the falter in Hancock’s vigorous nodding we do not

QueenofmyPrinces · 13/05/2020 12:28

I really wanted to watch this but haven’t been able to - does it get repeated??

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 13/05/2020 12:30

It will be repeated on the parliament channel. Check the schedules. And you can always watch it on iplayer.

MarshaBradyo · 13/05/2020 12:33

May was pretty good at PMQ, better than when she was in front of the media.

Johnson has had an easy ride so far with Corbyn and not being there. He didn’t take Corbyn seriously and was boisterous with his friends. Starmer is better at it than the others and it shows. I hope Johnson isn’t too tired he’s going to have to be more together.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 13/05/2020 12:34

And without all the farmyard noises we are done in 35 minutes when it usually takes over fifty.

chomalungma · 13/05/2020 12:40

Turns out Boris lied at PMQs about the care home advice

Maybe he didn't know - but didn't want to look like he didn't know so he lied.

lyralalala · 13/05/2020 12:44

Blimey, Gavin Williamson has a heck of a patronising tone on him. He's also completely ignored the question of why/how they've selected YR and Y1 as the first to go back whilst also talking about social distancing and safety,

Roussette · 13/05/2020 12:45

Do we really now test more than any other country in Europe? Or is he spouting more crap?

This is official figures - testing per million of population

Spain 52,781
Italy 44,241
UK 29,566
Germany 32,891

So to answer your question..... no.

jasjas1973 · 13/05/2020 12:46

Starmer asked about the 18,000 excess deaths in care homes and what the govt thought the 10,000 deaths where CV wasn't mentioned on the death certificate...
Johnson just repeated what Starmer had said on numbers and his concerns, then just sat down!

Appalling, Johnson has no grip on the crisis in care homes and doesn't seem to care either.

Roussette · 13/05/2020 12:48

Yes, and it was excess deaths as opposed to just deaths which matters.

There are averages out there for April. And the figures were triple for this April.

TinySleepThief · 13/05/2020 12:49

So to answer your question..... no.

Why does it no longer suprise me he lied again. That tells you all you need to know about how credible he is.

He's also completely ignored the question of why/how they've selected YR and Y1 as the first to go back whilst also talking about social distancing and safety

He has now ignored a similarly worded twice. I image if it was literally the only question he was asked by an MP he would still manage to ignore it.

lyralalala · 13/05/2020 12:49

Matt Hancock's face when Johnston said we test more than any other country in Europe was an absolute picture.

I imagine he's off trying to get as many tests as possible in the post tonight to bump up the numbers again.
