Why can't he just answer a question straight?
And also if you have children did he just suggest you tell your employer and stay home? That is not going to go down well!

People want excitement? Isn't a pandemic enough?

FelicisNox · 12/05/2020 18:01

I read on another forum that BJ is fond of the drinkies and it's his undoing. Is this true? I had no idea.

FliesandPies · 12/05/2020 18:09

Bet Rishi Sunak doesn't drink..

Noextremes2017 · 12/05/2020 18:11

Great new nickname for Johnson - 'Captain BirdsEye'.

Why the hell didn't we just leave him to rot when he got stuck on the zipline? It would have saved the country so much pain. We don't deserve him. Even his own MP's never wanted him as leader but were persuaded by the 'blue rinse' Tory party supporters that he was the man to save the economy from Corbyn. And now he has wrecked it with one bad decision after another.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 12/05/2020 18:25

As I said elsethread, Sharma is a begnign but essentially rubbish dalek, a speak your weight machine that is all sink plunger and no death ray.

With Johnson, we can perhaps thank the imaginary deity of our choice that we got off lightly in this parade of populist twonks. Not as bad as Trump, Bolsonaro, Erdogan, Duterte, Orban, Old Uncle Vlad and all.

Taliya · 12/05/2020 18:36

He was excruciating to watch on the Corona virus update yesterday. He was clearly out of his depth and this crisis is finding him out. He is not Prime Ministerial material!.

Threeoleary · 12/05/2020 18:36

Don’t know if this has already been posted but it’s a fascinating story.

StoorieHoose · 12/05/2020 19:36

"we voted for him"

I bloody didn't and neither did the rest of Scotland
Anyway this is not America we don't vote for the prime minister - that privilege was given to Tory Party Members

Alsohuman · 12/05/2020 19:41

If we must have a Tory PM, why oh why can’t it be Sunak?

Ferret27 · 12/05/2020 19:58

I’m sorry but did someone actually write that ‘ at least Trump is actually clear’ for f sake please direct me to any speech that either man has said that is clear or is not full of S...

ssd · 12/05/2020 20:00

Are you kidding? His voting record is appalling, might as well have Johnson.

lyralalala · 12/05/2020 20:02

Anyway, radio bloke said he thought the only thing DT could do that would lose him the support of these people would be to come out as gay.

Gay or anti-guns and he’d Be guaranteed to lose the next election

lyralalala · 12/05/2020 20:03

Sunak is no better than Johnson

His boring record is appalling when it comes to vulnerable people

The only reason he’s popular is because he’s the one announcing the money side. He’ll be the least popular person in the country when he announces tax hikes next year or the year after

JamieLeeCurtains · 12/05/2020 20:13

I remember being taxed a third of my salary. With a much, much lower personal allowance.

That is presumably where we're heading again.

Pembsgirl · 12/05/2020 20:14

I don't think anyone else has mentioned where, when asked to clarify about how they would decide if the brakes needed to be put on, and lockdown to be reinstated, he actually said something along the lines of 'well if we find that the virus is in the WATER waffle, waffle, waffle .............' I was like 'what on earth....', I rewound it, thinking I'd imagined what he said, but no, he actually did say WATER, I even got my DH back in the room (he'd wandered off, bored to tears by then), to check that I'd heard it correctly. So does anyone know what the hell was he talking about there?? The virus isn't water born, or is it? Does he know something else they're not telling us?? Or was he actually so juiced up that by that time he couldn't string two words together??

Please someone, tell me that you heard it too, and that I wasn't in some weird Boris shaped world!

JamieLeeCurtains · 12/05/2020 20:14

Should have said, that was the basic rate back then ^^. Tory govt.

StoorieHoose · 12/05/2020 20:18

Water.org.uk have tweeted to say that the water doesn't carry Covid on twitter. So you didn't imagine it

JamieLeeCurtains · 12/05/2020 20:20

Yes he did, @Pembsgirl, although apparently he 'misspoke' ie got it wrong again

fullfact.org/health/covid-19-not-in-water-supply/

ToftyAC · 12/05/2020 20:20

All I can say is that I hope Sir Keir sorts bloody Labour out in time for the next GE.

Pembsgirl · 12/05/2020 20:26

Phew! Thank goodness others heard it, I really thought that as no one else had mentioned it, that I'd made it all up in my head or something. Perhaps if he actually thought about what he said, instead of waffling so much, he might not have 'misspoken'!!!

I'm beginning to think he's not been taking his own advice again, and that the virus has crept up on him while he wasn't being ALERT, and has fried his brain!!

FliesandPies · 12/05/2020 20:29

The only reason he’s popular is because he’s the one announcing the money side

That's a big part of it true, but also he speaks clearly, he's not shifty, he is young and looks good, he's got a proper grasp of detail.

Smithtylater · 12/05/2020 20:55

Im having flashbacks of the Olympics....this is the man who couldnt even wave a flag properly!

BJ - Indecipherable waffle
Matt Hancock (Isn't his last name unfortunate, particularly given his boss's initials) - Haven't heard a complete sentence that made any sense, apart from the condescending one directed at
Rosena Alleyn-Khan.
Dominic Raab - Gives a straight answer but it's wrong ... no it's right ... no it's wrong again. Also, didn't understand about Dover.
Michael Gove - Intelligent but has the empathy of a Dalek.
Sunak - completely on board with Sunak. Understands exactly what he's talking about, and appears to genuinely care. I suspect he'll be sacked soon.

Namechangervaver · 12/05/2020 21:13

@JamieLeeCurtains we already get taxed a third of our income if we're not higher rate tax payers! NI is a tax too. Do you mean you got taxed 30% then NI on top?

Namechangervaver · 12/05/2020 21:15

I honestly think tax won't rise. They've found a magic money tree.
