Why can't he just answer a question straight?
And also if you have children did he just suggest you tell your employer and stay home? That is not going to go down well!

PMQs - I have set the link for 5 minutes in

The PM always does his engagements
Then there are 6 questions from the Leader of the Opposition

Then some sychophantic questions asking if the PM agrees that the Government are doing a great job

Nice review in the Guardian

www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/may/13/boris-johnson-resorts-to-bluster-under-keir-starmer-cross-examination

"Give it time and Boris may well cut to the chase and just plead guilty in advance to save him the torture of answering six questions, but we’re not there yet, so Starmer opened his folder and asked the court to consider Exhibit A."

Wow, the Spectator really going for him there!Shock

They even said that "Boris denied what official guidance said there in black and white" when talking about today's spat in PMQs .

They describe his approach as 'sloppy'.

I agree.

Even his old mag the Speccie sharpens the knives. Time to go Johnson and spend more time with your many families.

It was primarily Brexit that won over those red wall voters. That and their feeling that the Labour Party had abandoned them. The issues next time will all be about the state of the economy and how well the after effects of Covid and Brexit have been handled.

Backbenchers being more open about their disquiet, even ministers briefing to journalists about annoyance with the way things are being done. I doubt BJ actually likes being PM very much anyway. I don't think he'll last the term.

But ... it is the cult of his 'personality', that won over the red wall voters - someone else (Gove) may not retain that support. Although, I suppose Major and Cameron (in '15) won decently enough without those voters, and that's when the Lib Dems had a lot of what are now Tory seats, so maybe it doesn't matter all that much if the Tories lose the north.

That pretty much sums it up Vera. Both his big fan girls - Allison Pearson and Camilla Tominey - put the boot in today. If he’s lost them, he’s pretty much done.

A lot of the Tory establishment led by the Torygraph seem to want Johnson and his clique out - he will be the ultimate fall guy when we are in safer waters and hopefully soon. My monies on a resignation for 'health reasons' sooner rather than later so he can go back to what he does best. Bumming around, womanising and penning witty columns for the Telegraph/Spectator and doing after-dinner speeches. And making big bucks so he can live the life he wants to lead which I'm pretty sure isn't this one.

"Certainly Johnson was hit badly, admitting doctors had to give him ‘litres and litres’ of oxygen and that he was close to being put on a ventilator. He looked exhausted after returning to Downing Street and is, unsuprisingly, working fewer hours. It is said he gets fatigued, sometimes struggling with memory."

Every time a speaker makes out the decision has been made in the best interests of the children it makes my blood boil.

Mine too, it's all a load of bullshit and I doubt any of those saying it would be happy sending their child in.

The fact they can’t give a genuine reason as to why Reception and Year 1’s are going back first is very telling.*

Well anyone with any intelligence knows that it's because if they tell the truth and say its because they need to get their parents back to work instead of pretending its because these childrens education will suffer they all know it wouldn't look look good.

Like you say, everyone can see right through it, we know exactly why they’re doing it, it’s so frustrating.

In terms of getting parents back to work, I thought it more likely that children in Y3-6 would have both parents in work, than those younger - lots of infant school children may have babies and toddler siblings, so more likely to have a SAHP in the family than when all children of a family unit are aged 6+. If they want the maximum amount of parents freed up, you'd think those with older children would be the target group.

Obviously, there are thousands of families where both parents of small children will be in work from babyhood on, and that some people will have one Y6, one Y3 and one Reception, and all sorts of variables.
