Damn - it's the weekend and it's warm. AIBU to think this will lead to further restrictions

Because some people will be fed up of their house and will go to the park

Or the beach
Or congregate in large groups
Or take their car on long journeys to places of beauty

I think this weekend is going to see guidance severely broken because of the weather - and this will lead to a crackdown

Bring on April showers

I live in between beaches and countryside & I can guarantee that everybody will be out tomorrow. Today, my twit of a neighbour had friends round for a bbq as 2 car loads turned up at his house. Last weekend, the other twit across the road had a bbq & had deck chairs out in the front garden. They were all sat out drinking beer till late & treated the lock down like a bank holiday.

As an aside, my DP has just been to Aldi and the assistant was telling him that they’re about to start furlowing staff because they’re so quiet.

CorianderLord · 04/04/2020 21:06

There were lots of people at the park opposite my house

Exercise limited to 1hour a day alone and within 1km of your home address

I know this was a post about France and not the UK, but if you can only exercise alone how do young children get exercise outdoors?

Bornfreebutincovidchains · 04/04/2020 22:39

People are allowed out with the their families to get excersise.

Greenpop21 · 04/04/2020 22:49

@Kastanien you can exercise with your household outside. No limit on numbers if you live together.

Kastanien · 05/04/2020 08:03

Sorry, my question was to @Poppadopilis

We are in France and it is broadly similar:

Exercise limited to 1hour a day alone and within 1km of your home address.

I know that a family group can exercise together in the UK, I was wonder how the exercise alone rule in France worked if you have children!

SquirmOfEels · 05/04/2020 08:08

Further restrictions have begun or are clearly coming

Lambeth council has closed Brockwell Park from today because of the numbers sunbathing and the number in large groups

Wandsworth have issued a polite 'locals only please' notice to ask people from other parts of London to refrain from travelling there. I expect that will be followed by limited access or complete closure.

poppadopolis · 05/04/2020 10:27

@Kastanien

As @Greenpop21 kindly clarified it is OK to be out with children but the 1km restriction still applies. Sorry if I wasn't clear - we don't have kids at home any longer.

You can go for a walk with people from your own household.

We are in the middle of nowhere, but there are still Gendarmes stopping and checking people and they won't hesitate to fine you if you are trying to circumvent the rules.

I can only speak from our experience where we are - I am sure some town/city dwellers can paint a broader picture.

Kastanien · 05/04/2020 10:55

Ah ok, thanks Poppadopolis!

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 05/04/2020 11:02

It's inevitable because people are still ripping the piss - 'I'm allowed! I need a bike ride or run on top of walking my kids because I have kids and that's not exercise to go walk with them! I don't have a garden! My dog/puppy is way more important that peoples' lives! Vitamin D is essential for the immune system! Mental health will kill more people than coronavirus (who cares about the mental health fallout to the families of those who die from it)!'
