I'm relieved. How about you?

OP posts:
Rosehip10 · 23/03/2020 20:45

Pleased - many people have been taking the absolute piss these past seven days.

WanderingTrolley1 · 23/03/2020 20:45

It’s for the best.

Emcont · 23/03/2020 20:45

Should have happened weeks ago! Yes it's shit, but it's needed. People didn't listen!

PegLegAntoine · 23/03/2020 20:46

I couldn’t really hear it properly due to noisy children but it seemed still quite wishy washy to me. I didn’t catch how they’ll enforce all these rules like the two people maximum?

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 23/03/2020 20:46

No. I work in a shop that will refuse to close. A lot of vulnerable people there and some coughing that have been told to get back to work.

AccidentsAhoy · 23/03/2020 20:46

He didn't actually call it a lockdown though did he? Or did he?

TobyeBella · 23/03/2020 20:46

Its a good thing.

Why no mention of some children going to school in the reasons for leaving the house?

TinyBarista · 23/03/2020 20:46

Relieved. This is serious and people have been far too blasé

Bouncingbomb · 23/03/2020 20:46

Pleased here I live opposite a big park that has been full of people since the schools closed.

peachypetite · 23/03/2020 20:47

Pleased. I thought it was crystal clear. Only leave your house if it’s for medical or food shopping unless you have to go to work eg NHS.

YahBasic · 23/03/2020 20:47

Relieved, but apprehensive.

We have been doing this since Tuesday. DH thought I was overreacting initially but has been fully onboard.

We need to do our weekly food shop tomorrow and now slightly dreading it.

TeddyIsaHe · 23/03/2020 20:47

So so relieved. This weekend was blindingly obvious how stupid British people can be. No one thinks the rules apply to them.

Stay safe all!

FallonSwift · 23/03/2020 20:47

Frightened. Which I realise is irrational - I know lockdown is the right thing to do, but I feel frightened for the first time ever since this started.

Blondiney · 23/03/2020 20:47

Fucking relieved!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 23/03/2020 20:47

Relieved. Some people just weren't getting it.

But it does mean I have to 'live' at work for two weeks at a time. Two weeks at wotk then two weeks at home until this is over.

It's going to be hard.

Bouncingbomb · 23/03/2020 20:47

No I don’t think he used the word.

safariboot · 23/03/2020 20:48

Well based on current information I'm fucked. I can't go out to MOT my car. I can't drive it or even leave it parked on the street without an MOT. And I can't even move it to an off-street parking location.

I suppose this will be regarded as my own fault because I didn't borrow money to get my MOT test sooner.

DM has cheques that need paying in. She cannot activate mobile banking without visiting a cashpoint or branch, which are now not permitted.

BeetrootRocks · 23/03/2020 20:48

I'm relieved that we are still allowed out for exercise once a day.

HowIrresponsible · 23/03/2020 20:49

It's fine.

The only question I have is are online retailers still allowed to deliver or is it just food?

I need to buy a chair to be able to comfortably work from home.

Strawberrycreamsundae · 23/03/2020 20:49

Great news, about time too.
Blame all those selfish idiots thinking recommendations didn’t apply to them, especially those over the weekend. That’ll sort them out!

lazylinguist · 23/03/2020 20:49

I think it's a good thing. I hope people abide by it without the need for enforcement though. I live in a fairly rural area with loads of small villages. A police officer is a rare sight round here.

YahBasic · 23/03/2020 20:49

Which bank is she with, safaribank?

There will be a workaround.

Lifesavesocialdistance · 23/03/2020 20:50

He said go to parks but social distance and excersise and walks.

But only with family members.
I agree it should have eased in weeks ago. Madrid Liverpool, Cheltenham should never have been allowed.

Funny though how only last week we were being told by Sir Partick that huge gatherings in the outdoors didn't really cause spread, but now we are not allowed gatherings above 2Confused

I'm happy to do it I'm just wondering what new information has been fed into his '' model ''

Jobseeker19 · 23/03/2020 20:50

Are banks open

GulliBelle · 23/03/2020 20:50

I'd like to know where all these police who will be issuing fines and dispersing crowds are going to come from. After years of cutbacks and being told that crimes won't be investigated the resources are suddenly available. Ok, Boris.
