AIBU to ask how many toilet rolls you currently have in your house?!

After being accused of panic buying and enabling/encouraging panic buying on another thread I’m curious as to what’s the norm.
As toilet roll seems to have sold out everywhere or most places at least - do you have a big stock of them normally?

We currently have 18 left over from one of the big packs of 40 from Costco we bought a while ago - always do our big shopping there so also have wipes and antibac laundry in volume for the same reason!

Take a look in different places. I got some from Viking the stationery company, arrived next day.

Lordamighty · 19/03/2020 18:44

I have about 15 left, I haven’t bought one toilet roll since this all kicked off, these are left over from my last Costco shop.
Problem is I have a 97 year old incontinent parent.

Lweji · 19/03/2020 19:27

I usually keep one big pack or 2-3 medium packs (about 12) in the house. I'm a bit lower than my usual at the moment, and only bought a 12 pack last week.

I will probably hold buying any until next week.

WyomingWoman · 19/03/2020 19:33

I pack of 16 bought last week. One 24 pack bought yesterday. The rest we already had.

NemophilistRebel · 19/03/2020 21:31

Fuck! Do you run a hotel or B&B?!

Otherwise seems totally selfish

Thepigeonsarecoming · 20/03/2020 00:58

Normally I wait until the last roll is being used, hubby laughed at me for buying one pack of twelve last week when we still had four rolls left (I did panic but but I don’t think one pack of twelve makes me evil!). Haven’t seen any in shops since.

TangoWhisky · 20/03/2020 01:03

About 100...

But only because we always bulk buy from groupon..

And we had done an order afew days before all this CV kicked off

Same with kitchen roll - About 20 rolls

Hand soap about 30

We have bulk bought for atleast 3 years.

The other day we had a tesco delivery, we got someone elses toilet roll and soap, i rang tesco and they come to collect it for the other customer, i added 9 andrex rolls and 2 hand soaps...

We are self isolating....

Shockers · 20/03/2020 05:18

I now have 26, because the only packs of loo rolls they had in Aldi were packs of 24!

SoFuckingAnnoyed · 20/03/2020 05:48

We have 20 odd.

There are countries that don’t use/sell toilet roll. I visited one years ago and you just do as they do. Use water to clean your arse whilst in the toilet (which was a hole in the floor).

I also have old materials that will be used as arse rags for DH who is horrified at the prospect of arse washing. He can deal with his smelly shit rags while my arse will be sparkly clean.

blindmusicmum · 20/03/2020 06:24

We have about 40.

Twasbambam · 20/03/2020 06:30

98 and a bit.

Prepper though so haven't actually bought any since the end of December. Didn't want to contribute to the empty shelves.

timetest · 20/03/2020 11:59

18 left from a 24 pack.

sadmumbecauseofson · 20/03/2020 12:05

About 36. I have a delivery of 48 every few months.

DGRossetti · 20/03/2020 12:09

OhMsBeliever · 20/03/2020 12:11

I had 4 left and was slightly panicking (there's 6 of us) but managed to get some so are now up to 14. I will relax for a bit.

I prepped for food, way before all this started, in case I was ever short of money, but didn't think shortage of loo roll would be a thing.

Bookworm83 · 20/03/2020 12:22

Around 100 but that's my Brexit stash that's been built up gradually over the past year.

User18492725204065241 · 20/03/2020 12:24

We only have 3, I'm feverish with an awful cough and DP now also coughing so can't send him out to hunt for some. A good proportion of our neighbours have left London in the last few days so no one we know to ask, bar a very elderly lady who I'm not encouraging to outside for my sake. Not the end of the world to have to clean ourselves without loo roll, but not great when you're feeling as ill as I currently do and with a 3 year old who hates the shower.

Thankfully we have enough food for a week or two. And the illness has killed my appetite so I'm barely eating anyway, which makes me less stressed as then there is more for DD.

mogtheexcellent · 20/03/2020 12:25

About 20 left over from our last pre panic Costco shop.

FishingPaws · 20/03/2020 12:31

150+ because I messed up an order before Christmas. I did have a lot more but I've given some away to people who haven't been able to get any.

Illbeagransoon · 20/03/2020 17:29

I have a pack of 12 that I've just opened, but my lovely neighbour rang my doorbell an hour or so ago and proudly presented me with a 9 pack. He was coming out of Waitrose when he caught sight of a woman with two packs so he raced back in bought two, and gave me one. I don't know him that well, he's quite shy, but I left him some milk and bread yesterday. What goes around comes around...

okiedokieme · 20/03/2020 17:46

Just got 24 so now have 40 or so, 6 adults so use 1-2 rolls a day

H1978 · 20/03/2020 17:50

I actually counted ours the other week when I got a groupon delivery so about 120 toilet rolls and 30 kitchen rolls, all bought before this madness started which I’m very glad for especially because if anyone I know needs any I can share them

thistimeofyear · 23/03/2020 12:56

You grabby people depress me so much! It’s not like toilet rolls are that expensive you have to bulk buy 100 fgs!! I’m ashamed to be British sometimes. If we all just night sensibly those poor NHS staff wouldn’t be crying on the news about not being able to get fresh stuff. How can you be so Cruel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NemophilistRebel · 23/03/2020 13:58

That’s how I feel too reading this thread shows the epitome of the selfishness of mn’s

pourmeanotherglass · 23/03/2020 14:01

About 8. We get through about 4 per week and are self isolating due to DD having a cough. We normally just buy a 4 pack with the weekly shop but bought an extra pack last week.
