I hope it’s not too soon to be heartened by this news.

Did Trump just bless himself, though, using the words of Jesus? His delusional manner is very concerning, so much so that I worry about the truth of his truth about a peace deal.

But a glimmer of hope is welcome.

BelleHathor · 09/10/2025 00:23

I'm still skeptical, but yes I was agog at the "blessed be the peacemakers" but if it brings peace then so what!

At least this phase is guaranteed by America, Qatar, Turkey and Egypt and both sides will get their people back within 72 hours.

Great news. I hope this one sticks and this war can finally be over 🙏🙏 although at this point I feel a bit hesitant to get my hopes up

sosorryimnotsorry · 09/10/2025 01:28

It’s really positive news. Room for cautious optimism I guess. I just hope it happens and lasts for all parties.

TicklishMauveSquid · 09/10/2025 01:38

Let’s hope Hamas don’t fuck it up.

Trump should get his Nobel Prize if he pulls this off.

Praying all the known living hostages all come out alive and the dead are treated with dignity, not the grotesque carnival of last time.

Does anyone what the reaction of Gazans has been to this news? Hopefully positive.

Firealarm1414 · 09/10/2025 01:40

I think the majority of gazans were urging hamas to take the deal and end the war. Those are the ones I saw anyway.

The useful idiots in the West, not so much. The disappointment that a deal has been agreed is almost palpable.

We can only hope out of all this death and suffering, this terrible war is a turning point to Gazans starting to form a political party who are sick of this conflict and want their kids to live in peace and have a normal childhood without guns, rockets, death, destruction and green headbands.

mids2019 · 09/10/2025 06:08

Blessed are the peacemakers

this is good news but I hope to see Hamas disarm. There will be a contact between the joy of ordinary Gazans and Israelis and the quiet despair of the pro pal jobs who now will have to find a new cause.

mids2019 · 09/10/2025 06:25

I do think Trunpnis a little naieve thinking Hamas want lasting peqce.....leaving remnants of Hamas in any sort of power just paves the way for future hostilities. We also have a new PR branch of Hamas marching in the streets of Britain and I don't think this will stop. The great fear is thatv'cause' and the Jew hate is here to stay......

HellsBalls · 09/10/2025 06:39

It’s fantastic news, and shows just how much Israel wants their people back, to release 2,000 prisoners for only 20 hostages.

Trump deserves the prize if this comes off. I do hope that this weekends Pro-Palestine marches are celebrating the end of the war and cheering the Trump Peace Plan, though somehow I doubt it.

We have been here before though with the Oslo Accord, and many other agreements.

RealDiscussionNotHate · 09/10/2025 06:42

Let's hope its tge end of the war and peace lasts

PaxAeterna · 09/10/2025 07:00

Trump is blessing himself! Oh my, god wept.

Great news. The best plan that could happen with these awful people involved. It shows what can happen when international governments start working together to achieve something.

Covers reactions in both Israel and Gaza.

Celebration and trepidation in Gaza and Israel following ceasefire plan agreement | CNN

News of the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hamas was met with celebrations and joyous scenes in both Gaza and Israel, though residents on both sides of the devastating war expressed trepidation that a deal may still fall through.

Just great news. I can't imagine the joy of the hostages family at the news or the Palestinian people. ❤️

What about the 65 000 or so Palestinian people that have been killed by Israel? Kind of makes the hostage numbers pale in comparison.

Trump does not deserve a Nobel Peace Prize. His country is on the brink of civil war and he’s mobilising the military against their own citizens. That’s not the actions of a peace maker.

EasternStandard · 09/10/2025 07:18

Really good to hear. Lovely to hear dancing in the streets on both sides. Well done to Trump and everyone I hope it sticks.

Yes I agree it's lovely to see the dancing in the street & happiness in Gaza and Tel Aviv. The people want peace!

Well done to all the mediators from America, Israel, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.

I'm just watching the scenes now, both Israelis and Palestinians celebrating and full of hope. I just hope this doesn't get derailed, there's been too much suffering ❤️.

OctopusFriend · 09/10/2025 08:16

Hostage release may be as early as Saturday 🤞

I don't think we need to find a 'new cause'. This hopefully stops the genocide from continuing, but this 'cause' as you call it existed before the latest war, and it will exist after, but with much more public attention.

The Palestinians need a safe independent state, where they are free from Israeli control, aggression an invasion. There also needs to be justice for those behind the genocide and for those found to have committed war crimes.
