I guarantee they will still be marching. It will just shift to israel being "held responsible for their crimes" or some such. What they really want is the end of israel so they arent going to stop.

Yes this. Batten down the hatches, those protestors aren’t going to be happy about peace.

SpaceRaccoon · 09/10/2025 23:57

Well Israel approved the ceasefire deal now. Fingers crossed that this holds, the hostages can come home and Gaza and can rebuilt into a peaceful and prosperous neighbour for Israel.

BelleHathor · 10/10/2025 00:28

Trump has apparently deployed 200 US soldiers to Israel to support the ceasefire.

https://www.wdbj7.com/2025/10/09/us-sending-about-200-troops-israel-help-support-monitor-ceasefire-deal-gaza/

"The United States is sending about 200 troops to Israel to help support and monitor the ceasefire deal in Gaza as part of a team that includes partner nations, nongovernmental organizations and private sector players, U.S. officials said Thursday.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details not authorized for release, said U.S. Central Command is going to establish a “civil-military coordination center” in Israel that will help facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid as well as logistical and security assistance into the territory wracked by two years of war.

The remarks provide some of the first details on how the ceasefire deal would be monitored and that the U.S. military would have a role in that effort. After Israel and Hamas agreed to the first phase of a Trump administration plan to halt the fighting, a litany of questions remain on next steps, including Hamas disarmament, a withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and a future government in the territory.

One of the officials said the new team will help monitor implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the transition to a civilian government in Gaza."

I don't want to be pessimistic but we can't just pretend that Gazans at heart (or at least some) will be in reality ecstatic about a map of Gaza which gives a little more territory to Israel as a security buffer and have to wait some time while their territory is rebuilt.....of course the instinct for revenge is strong.

when we see Gazans celebrate there is no praise for Trump but praise for God and many of the young men feel this is somehow a victory or a staging post for a new resistance. I suppose psychologically the Gazans don't want to add a surrender to the toll that they have endured over the last 2 years.

Fantastic!

The Israel government ratified the peace deal late last night & committed to a ceasefire within 24 hours, according to a government spokeswoman.

The live hostages should be released by Hamas on Monday or Tuesday and aid allowed to flood into Gaza once the ceasefire takes effect.

Well, I have just seen a video of Gazans happily singing Khaybar, Khaybar, ya Yehud, which is basically their way of saying it’s not over.

They all look very healthy and well fed when you’d expect the men to make sure the women and children are fed first in a ‘famine’.

I have noticed a lot of hysterical and angry posts this morning on X, full of Israel hatred. The pro-Pals Jew haters are really pissed that this war is coming to an end,

New allegations now that the IDF has been gang raping Palestinian women and videoing it and people actually believe it!

https://x.com/HeidiBachram/status/1976080716132970608

What a comment to make, saying the celebrating Palestinians look healthy and well fed. Basically totally denying the starvation that's been on going.
Shame on you.
Would you be happy to read some of the earlier released hostages looked healthy and well fed???
No of course not.
But you couldn't wait to say that about the Palestinians shown.
Awful, sneering and degrading comment, and so typical of the pro Israel support on here.

Alittlefeedbackwouldbenice · 10/10/2025 08:48

Urgh. The deal was supposed to be that the ceasefire would take place immediately, with the troops moving back within 24 hours.

Israel is still bombing Gaza and are basically giving themselves until 11pm tonight.

SpaceRaccoon · 10/10/2025 08:53

I mean we did have to repeatedly read that.

Standard operating procedure of the IDF, a military defined by the need to impose themselves to "show" that they're "strong".

Hamas equally are still engaged in fighting and presumably will do so up until the ceasefire ( 🙏🏻 both sides stop after that point).

No, they're not as far as I'm aware. Do you have any evidence they are for a start?

I checked about five different new sources this morning and they're all talking about continuation of Israeli aggression. None of them have mentioned the same from Hamas.

If you've got any evidence to the contrary, then I'd be happy to look.

Israel does targeted, evidence based attacks on Hamas.
It’s not, and has never been, indiscriminate attacking of civilians. We can’t say the same about Hamas.

Were these kids Hamas?

  • Zakariya Barbakh. 13 year old boy who was awaiting a lung transplant, which couldn't happen because of the war. He was excited by the ceasefire because he was hoping to get his new lungs! Shot and killed by an IDF sniper during the last ceasefire. They then opened fire and the people that try to retrieve his body. He'd been looking for wood so his family could cook food. This was the day after the ceasefire started.
  • 5 year old little girl Nadia Mohammed al-Amoudi who was killed whilst sitting on in a horse cart travelling towards Northern Gaza.

Over 100 Gazans were killed by the IDF during ceasefire. Many others injured. I've singled out these two because they have names, not because they are in any way unique.

The IDF is willing to kill a whole building full of people per single suspected Hamas.

They have also been known do evidence based ( of their own eyes), precise, discriminate sniping of young children.

Why do you find it so offensive when people state facts?

Why should I feel shame for doing so?

They do look healthy and well fed with clean clothes and fresh haircuts. Nothing likely people in a war I’ve ever seen before.

I have not seen any evidence of starving adults in Gaza, aside from the Israeli hostages, and a few with medical conditions like the children used as propaganda.

What has my post got to do with the Israeli hostages btw? Many of the hostages were starved, go look at some of the before and after pictures of Eli Sharabi, Evyatar David, Alon Otel, and Romi Gonen.

How is it awful, sneering and degrading to comment on something I could see with my own eyes?

Who the fuck are you to think you can police what people think, believe or even how they interpret what they see.

Just because you have fallen for disgusting terrorist propaganda, doesn’t mean everyone else has.

No they have not been known to snipe at young children. Or at least only via Hamas propaganda.

Not evidence based at all.

So Zakariya Barbakhm? The disabled kid awaiting a lung transplant who was shot in the last ceasefire?

I believe his murder by the IDF was on film if you want to dig it out. I've seen enough death personally.

Video evidence I believe (at least for the first boy) and it was published in the news. The IDF have not denied it.

What evidence are you expecting? I've given the name, age and date of the first kid for goodness sake.

58 years? I thought it was 77?

Nice to see someone actually remember the 19 years of illegal occupation under Egypt and the Jordan.

https://edition.cnn.com/2025/01/24/middleeast/gaza-israel-dead-ceasefire-child-intl

This article sorry talks about 3-year-old As’ad Khalifa. His parents and sister were killed during the ceasefire, by an airstrike which hit their home. Neighbours dug through the rubble finding As'ads's parents bodies. They heard the cry of a child, and after 30 minutes of digging they found a small hand reaching out of the rubble. This was the toddler lying next to his dead sister.

I can't imagine the terror he must have felt, and then there's the vomit inducing sword of how many thousands of children were in no situations and never made it out. This is why we need a ceasefire, but it needs to be a proper cease fire, and in time there needs to be justice for this.

Nothing in that video to prove the IDF killed that boy at all.

I think a big giveaway in these videos is that the camera is always focused on the alleged victim and never tries to film the perpetrator.

What evidence is in the video? It doesn’t even attempt to try to get the shooter on film.

So you believe the IDF should stop and respond to and investigate every allegation (and there are multiple, daily, allegations) made against them during a war?
