Yes, I'm thinking of the Harvard students who shit a brick when they realised their radical pro-jihadi stance might get them blacklisted from Wall Street and hedge funds and didn't even have the courage of their awful beliefs. Then there's the people on kibbutzes who've managed to find a way of living collectively and truly community-mindedly but who apparently deserved a horrible death.

I was away on 7 Oct and didn't check in on MN until recently. The stubborn, blind antisemitism has knocked me for six, honestly. (I'm not Jewish, by the way.) I gather things were even worse just after the attacks. I can't imagine. I feel ashamed of the human race.

Currently the worst offender are on several threads just shouting about how right they are about everything. Whilst seeming to only realised there was a conflict since October or 2021. They literally tell people not to refer to the pogrom or that the facts released are not real. I have seen on here the same posters say most the people killed were soldiers and not children etc. Sickening.

It will probably get worse again in the next few months. I see it coming in waves and the waves will get bigger each time. The whole conflict plays into Hamas and Jew haters hands really.

Jews are very resilient and we have survived a long time because we refuse to convert or die out. I am sure we can take a few idiot haters on mumsnet too. Even if the odd one makes us want to puck at their rancidness.

To anyone affected directly, I send my heartfelt sympathy and support. I never normally take an interest in news events, but the past couple of weeks have been an eye-opener, and not in a good way. The 7 October attacks were appalling enough... The reactions to them, including on MN, unfathomable. Can't help thinking about that old cliché, "History always repeats itself. Why? Because no one listens."

I saw a documentary made about a year ago where progressive lesbian and gay men in America were asked for their views on the Israeli/ Palestine conflict. All supported Palestine. They were then shown footage of interviews with Palestinians who were asked their views of gay men and their responses varied from, they should be imprisoned / beaten / murdered and how it is understandable for a father to honor kill his gay son. A gay Palestinian man ( identity hidden) spoke about how they are beaten and raped by police before being imprisoned.

All the lesbians and gay men in America were shocked. One actually said, ‘I thought Palestine was a progressive new country!’
Another said, ‘ it makes me feel I’ve been lied to’

How can they be so ignorant!

It must have been a surprise to the chap /chapesses who trooped along to support the Free Palestine rally in London, and took their Pride flag with them and got promptly attacked and their flag torn up!

@Trulywonderful Can I ask if you have any views on what the best way is to support the Jewish Community at the moment?

I'm so outraged at what is happening and would like to do what I can to show support but I am not sure how.
