COngratulations!!!! That's fantastic!

On the subject of periods, just been down my local shop which has just been reorganised and asked where they keeps tampons now.

Assistant - "not tampax?"
Me - "well, any tampons really"
Assistant - "what kind?"
Me - "um tampon kind of tampons?"
Assistant - "um..."
Me - "I'll go look again"

What on earth could she have meant??

CaveMum · 17/06/2010 18:23

salty that is fantastic news! Congratulations!

The first BFP of the new thread! now it really feels like home!

kkas · 17/06/2010 18:41

congrats saltyair so happy for you

evilgiraffe · 17/06/2010 18:44

Kaloki - that makes NO sense! The woman is clearly a loon.

Salty - congratulations!

Still no news from me, but a nice shiny new thread! Well done Aries

cherrycobbler · 17/06/2010 18:44

that's brill salty - congrats! extra special to be first BFP of a new thread too.

Claire lovely to "hear" you again - hope things go well for you and do pop back in whenever you want to say hello - no requirement to be TTC'ing xx

zippys are you be strong and holding out till the weekend?

zippys · 17/06/2010 18:48

Salty congratulations, I am so pleased for you.

Kaloki that was a bit of weird conversation!

Well now I am even more scared. Trying not to hold out too much hope. But I have worked out EDD if I got a BFP!! Deep down I think I know that it will not be a BFP as I have had other periods start like this . No more real blood just a little brown blood when I wipe, I just kind of assume that it would have stopped by now if implantation? Nearly cracked in supermarket today and bought test but cant bring myself to see the BFN come up so will do as planned and wait until Saturday.

saltyair · 17/06/2010 19:13

Thank you ladies.

Fingers crossed Zippy.

I don't know what to do with myself!!

WhiteRoses · 17/06/2010 19:56

Just popping in again to see had Zippy tested, and saw messages from Kkas and Claire, that I wanted to reply to.

First off, Claire, I hope you're happy with your decision, and am glad you think it's for the reasons. Hope you'll still lurk and post from time to time as well though, and let us know how you're doing...

Kkas - is this history repeating itself? Do you remember my dilemma over my promotion, whether to take it or not, what it would mean for the future... We put TTC on the back burner for the month of December, while trying to decide - lo and behold, BFP in January! Fingers crossed for you!

Oh, and Zippys - you're probably right, being all sensible, but you're a better woman than me! I'd have POAS days ago if I were you!

Sorry to everyone I've missed out - was just quickly skimming through posts there. Congratulations to Salty. We've never "met", but if you fancy popping over to the Graduates thread, you're more than welcome (it's in the Antenatal section, the only thread with "Frolickers" in the title!). I daresay you'll know some of the more recent graduates.

bobby12 · 17/06/2010 20:32

Hi please can i join your nice new thread i have been lurking for a while but never plucked up the courage to join. We started TTC in April and Got a BFP in May but sadly that pregnancy wasn't meant to be. Just about to enter my SWI week so keeping fingers crossed for this month.

whiteroses thanks for your message hun. i must admit i did think of you when this all started happening. maybe it's what we will need to get the BFP, although it would just happen to make my life more complicated!

Thought I'd go ahead and update the stats - add me and bobby....and put saltyair on the graduates list!! Congratulations!! That's the best news!

Thank you everyone for the welcome. I spoke to my doc today and have be diagnosed with PCOS. Will have blood tests and DH will have the necessaries next week, before being referred to a fertility specialist. I'm pleased that things are moving on.

Penguin - just re-read your mammoth SWI efforts. You deserve a medal after that!! Wow! Puts the rest of us to shame!

almostknockedupgirl · 17/06/2010 21:49

Whoohoo salty!! How fantastic! Let's hope this thread keeps up a lucky streak.

(I don't 'know' any of the graduates, being quite a newbie myself, but it's mighty nice to see so many popping round to say hello. There is life after TTC...)

miffles, sounds like things went quite straightforwardly at the doctor's. At least you can get on with getting things investigated/sorted now, which must be such a relief.

Hello bobby12! You and I will both be shagging for Britain next week I take it? (Separately, of course...)

I still have everything crossed for you zippys.

Thankfully, the hubs is off nights tomorrow. Hurrah! Just in time for the shagfest over the next two weeks. If you miss me, you know where I'll be...

MrsWajs · 17/06/2010 22:03

Kalispera my lovelies, I'm baaaaaaaaack

Have you missed me?? I have missed you all terribly but resisted the urge to throw 6euros an hour at the hotel PC!!

So a shiny new thread! I does very much like our guest star Aries and ERTD also - god I'm away for a week and it's all change!! Glad none of the newbies have inadvertently removed me from the list due to my holiday absence!
Hello!
And congrats to saltyair - well done you!

Well what to say, FINALLY got a high reading on CBFM yesterday!! Bit later than I expected but at least it's here now - I've roughly worked out that it probably means I'll be having a slightly longer cycle this month. Hoping that tomorrow will be peak as it was with you halo and yes needless to say we have been doing the deed daily since going on holiday so should have all bases covered!! Also noticed slight EWCM this morning too so all seems to be in order but haven't been temping due to time differences and travelling etc so totally relying on CBFM this month. Fingers crossed!!

Bellaby I know it's late but just wanted to say sorry to hear your news, big hugs to you. xx

As for holiday I was a little bit dissappointed, accomodation was nothing like 4* as described in the brochure (which I should have known) not that I'm overly fussy about star ratings but if I'd know it was going to be as poor as it was I would never have paid the amount of money for it I did. Anyway once we got the shower fixed (!) it was fine and we had a great time, weather hitting the 40's some days but quite a strong wind where we were, good for keeping you cool etc but annoying for losing towels, flip-flops, books etc!! Sadly have ended up with nightmarish prickly heat again so had to stay out of sun last 2 days which means my tan is pretty poor, DP looks like a local! Ashamed myself by getting mortally drunk on the first night and singing karaoke (badly) which DP has recorded on the camera, keep your eyes peeled on youtube for bad karaoke clips in Cyprus!! I'm sure to feature!! Took it easy on the drinking after that, which was actually fine, realised I'm not geared up for drinking til 4am and getting up at 10am to sunbathe anymore!! So all in all it was a good time all round! Sad to be home but not back to work til Wednesday, so that's a bonus!!

Anyway I'm blethering on a bit here, so I'll go for now, apologies for not making more of an effort to catch up with everyone but after a week there's just too much to read through properly! Hope everyone's fine though, I'll be joining those in the 2 week mentalness v. shortly

alien82 · 17/06/2010 23:19

Hi Zippys
Apparently it is instant return to fertility ! so we ll see what happens! We are waiting until I have my first cycle so that we can work out if I am preggers or not, but we will see how long that lasts!
scary stuff!
x

Kaloki · 18/06/2010 00:00

MrsWajs!!! Good to see you!

Hermya321 · 18/06/2010 01:17

Yay Salty!!! Woop de doo!! And people say theres no good that comes from lurking, well I say more fool them!!!

Congratulations!! I bet you are over the moon and then some aren't you!!

Brilliant, well if you fancy it the grads thread is here.

I'll pop the kettle on.

felicityFlick · 18/06/2010 02:05

Just stopping by to say CONGRATULATIONS to salty and welcome back to MRSW I've missed you!

Back to work today- been here an hour and already nearly told three people to F off and leave me alone. Perhaps I should have had another day at home!

felicityFlick · 18/06/2010 02:08

CaveMum · 18/06/2010 08:26

Good morning ladies. Whoop whoop it's only flamin' Friday!

Not a very successful Ascot yesterday - just 2 second places! I don't have time to go through selections for today but will say keep an eye out for JAQUELINE QUEST in the big race The Coronation Stakes. It would be a real fairytale if she could win this race.
Her owner, Noel Martin, only has a handful of racehorses and this filly is named after his wife who died 2 years ago. Noel is a paraplegic (sp?) who was left disabled after being beaten up by a Neo-Nazi gang in Germany about 20 years ago.
The filly 'won' the 1,000 Guineas (the first big race of the year for 3 year old fillies) last month at odds of 66-1 but was disqualified as there was interference between her and the second horse to finish. Today is all about retribution.

I won't be about much thus weekend as DH and I are heading to Bristol for Bill Bailry's 'homecoming gig' tomorrow night.

Fingers crossed for zippys and anyone else POAS this weekend.

zippys · 18/06/2010 08:41

Morning lovely frolickers,

Whiteroses I have to agree I thought of you when Kkas mentioned her potential new job. Lets hope it does work twice . I cant believe how far gone you are already! The reason for holding off POAS is the horrible feeling when you get that BFN, when I first started trying I was POAS about three times a month whereas now I am just so certain it wont happen I cant cope with the BFN (if that makes any sense at all!!!)

Bobby welcome to the thread, sorry to hear about your MC, you will find lots of people here to support you and help you obsess!

Miffles at least you have got your diagnosis early on. I think I may have hormonal issues (long story but been ill for over 6 months) but only just getting to see a specialist.

Welcome back mrsW lets hope that the lucky CBDM will work its magic. Prickly heat is horrile isnt it. Hope you are all recovered now.

Flick hope your throat is a lot better today.

Muser have you got any symptoms, are you just waiting for ERTD or will you be testing?

Thanks everyone for the good luck and crossed fingers. I am now even more confused and have spent ages googling implantation bleeding! I have no blood on pad anymore but still a tiny bit when I wipe. Am thinking that this may be a bad sign? Trying to stay positive and telling myself that when it is a BFN tomorrow then at least I see the specialsit next week (even if all the do is refer on). I am getting scared about testing - at least for now I can hang on to a glimmer of hope, I kind of feel that all the last 14 months of TTC have hit me at once and cant get my hopes up too much or else it will be like all the previous BFN built into one. Dont know why I feel like this - I suppose you can never predict how this TTC malarky is going to hit you.

Anyway I am going to try to concentrate on work today and then when I am out tomorrow morning get a test - do you think it will be ok if not FMU?

zippys · 18/06/2010 08:43

Sorry cross post Cavemum oh that would be lovely if that horse could win. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Muser · 18/06/2010 08:59

No symptoms zippy did a test yesterday morning and BFN. I know I shouldn't test early but I had a first response lying around. Not testing again. Fairly convinced it's not happening.

SaorAlba · 18/06/2010 09:00

I can't believe the new thread is on 4 pages already and I haven't posted on it yet!

I've not had a chance to be online on a PC since Tuesday and posting on my phone just isn't all that fun. In the office this morning and nobody else is here yet, so I thought I'd sneakily post!

Aries Thanks for the new thread. Absolutely loving the title.

Salty congratulations! Here's hoping your luck will rub off on the rest of us

MrsWajs glad you had a nice holiday. 40 degrees sounds a bit mad though, no wonder you got prickly heat.

Cavemum Didn't win the other day, but twas fun making a bet anyway. Bill Bailey's very amusing, have fun

I'll be checking in on Saturday to see how you got on Zippys. Fingers crossed it's your month.

Hi Penguin we are definitely 2ww buddies. I was looking at various calendars last night. My original plan was to test on Sun 27th if ERTD hadn't made an appearance, which would be CD30, but I have a feeling that i didn't ov until CD19 so I may have to have a rethink. 10DPO seems a little early to be testing. I can't believe how much SWI you managed. That's seriously impressive.

Loving the non-alcoholic mojito idea too. I had a beer last night and I'll probably have one tonight too with the football. I figure I'll pretty much be stopping drinking for 9 months after I get a bfp, and that's quite long enough!

We've got a really relaxing weekend planned. DP has been working far too many hours recently so we're just going to chill out this weekend. We'll probably do some pottering in the garden and maybe go for a wee walk.

Sorry to anyone I've missed, someone else has come into the office so I'd better go.

Hope you all have a nice weekend with lots of SWI or not too much symptom spotting, and hopefully someone will get a BFP too

OneOf8 · 18/06/2010 10:00

Salty congratulations! x
