Hi everyone!

MrsWajs Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. Hopefully if you go to the doctors you may get some answers. Hope you feel better soon. hugs

garden your frolicking in the forest sounds like fun and a good way to keep things new and exciting! Go you

crazy hope your uncertainty has eased off a bit. it's not a nice feeling especially with all the back pain. hugs for you

well my cramps have eased off now but no ertd yet which is strange for me as i normally cramp and come on at the same time. but hey ho i dont think im 28 days yet so im being a bit premature!

Waves to everyone and lets hope for a bfp very soon.

cherrycobbler · 02/08/2010 20:04

Lovely to hear from you flo really hope scan goes ok. Low profile is perfectly understandable!

All this food talk is making me ravenous - kitchin sounds amazing! Bleeding Heart is yum, enjoy kkas

pixie brilliant re al fresco SWI!

mrsw sorry you're feeling rubbish about this month. Trip back to docs sounds positive plan. I am coming to the end of my 2ww now too and boobs are deflating (nice) lower back is aching and cramps have moved lower - also taking it hard this month. Sending sympathy cake and wine your way - hope this week goes easy on you.

TigerseyeMum · 02/08/2010 20:51

gardenpixie I think the node only pops up on the side you are ovulating on when you ovulate. I have noticed it before (before I went on the pill for 20 years that is) but never knew what it was.

In fact I feel embarrassed that I never knew much about my body until recently I have had treatment for thrush when in fact I was not only normal but healthy and in fact fertile! And that was a female GP who treated me!

I am glad I know more now, just wish I had known sooner.

Good luck to all the SWI-ingers....more fandangoing later, but I am tired and achey....mustn't give up!

crazybutterflylady · 03/08/2010 08:29

Morning all!

Hope everyone is ok and there are no ERTD arrivals today - we can but hope!

Nothing here...yet.

Lots of Tuesday lattes and brownies all round
x

Karstan · 03/08/2010 08:59

Hello everyone, forgot to mention but I seem to have skipped forward a few days, I'm actually on cd13. I think it happened sometime last week but I'd just pointed out I'd been kept back 2 days so didn't want mention anything especially as I'm on my phone and can't sort the list out myself.

Anyway firmly in the fun bit right now, lots of SWI-ing.

TMI alert

Does anyone know whether who comes first matters in this whole ttc business. Have read bits about female orgasm helps suck the stuff up to does that mean the man needs to go first. It's doesn't normally happen that way in our house. We're reasonably in sync so I'm only talking a couple of minutes difference. Thoughts?

crazybutterflylady · 03/08/2010 09:04

Hi Karstan
I read recently that it doesn't really matter but it can help things along if it's at the same time or you are slightly after...

To be honest though, I think there's so much pressure around the whole baby dance thing anyway, to try and time it would take even more romance out of it! I just prefer to let nature take its course

womanlytales · 03/08/2010 11:04

Hello everyone,
Crazy totally hear you on the pressure bit and prefer nature taking its course too. In our case the frequency bit referrred to as the swiathon was really freaking us out -- once we took our feet off the time table it's been much better and a lot of fun.
I also sneakily feel that getting a bfp is least about the actual act itself..but more around the stress, food, and other stuff around the ttc period. Got to add - way to go to the frolicker who did it in the woods
Mrswajs I read your post y'day but didn't respond I feared I'd go comfort myself with food if I indulged in thinking about bfp... Today I have a cup of tea steaming by me..so here goes. My two cents there is this: Not a single morning goes by without me getting up and wondering if I'll ever be pregnant. There are times when I wistfullly wish to be like those folks who weren't even planning to ttc or even knew if they wanted to become a parent and just got 'lucky' I have a couple of these as friends and [here comes the guilt] find their sudden discovery of impending parenthood nauseating. Then again on the plus side, with those of us consciously ttcing... I want to think we're getting in the swing of things - ie when the bfp arrives we'll be far stronger perhaps with handling the anxieties we'll have each other as this fabulous network of buddies and we'll be healthier as a result of all the fat and other comments coming from our helpful doctors... LOL - or so I like to believe.
Hang in there please and I hope you get back to being your positive self soon. It will happen - it will happen - it will happen
I see that there're a lot of us due to poas this weekend best of luck to you lot. Pregnology says I can test in 9 days - that's if I go by the 28 day cycle if it's 33 then I could still be ovulating- fun, fun, fun!!!
Baby dust to all.

TigerseyeMum · 03/08/2010 12:03

Humph. Couldn't have my bone density scan as I couldn't guarantee I was not pregnant. The magnetic doo-dah of the scan is only 1 day's worth but they wouldn't do it just in case.

Be a miracle if I am pregnant so it's a bit annoying to miss it. She was going to test me then changed her mind, I got all excited about it but then, if I am 3 days pregnant I don't think there's a test in the world that would tell me yet!

Hope all is well in SWIng land

LankyLegs · 03/08/2010 13:19

Hi All - Fudge has had bad news about splodge over in the graduates in case you hadn't read. Doesn't look hopeful - really f*cking sad. Life is not fair sometimes.

CaveMum · 03/08/2010 13:25

Afternoon ladies, a lunchtime check in for me today. Only a few days worth of posting left on this thread then - who's going to be post 999?!

Nothing to report from me on TTC front. I sold my little car last night to a chap who was looking for a car for his 17yo granddaughter. She won't get much street cred in it but he's been very reliable for me.
I pick my new car up on Friday

On other matters, despite my assertions a few weeks ago, DH and I are going to look at another house at the weekend [sheepish emotcion]!
We'd seen it on the market a few months ago but it was close to the top of our budget and we weren't in a position to move.
However it has come back on the market with £20k knocked off the asking price so we're going to look and see what we think.
Sorry for the "me me me" post - it's hard to keep track of who said what on my iPhone!

crazybutterflylady · 03/08/2010 14:05

Oh lanky that's horrible, poor fudge life is shit sometimes, I totally agree.

womanly good luck with your patience I found pregnology a bit confusing actually (but that's nothing new - all of this is confusing me as you have all noticed )

tiger eeek. I think I would have demanded a test - good patience!

Tsk cavemum I hope you are not taking all the good houses off the market before we get a chance to look around Good luck with the viewing! I will keep my fingers crossed

x

LankyLegs · 03/08/2010 14:18

Cavey vroom vroom - did you get the kia in the end? Lovely! Well done for selling your old car too.

Sooooo is this the house that you gave us a link to a while back - if soo - that's great news - sounds like they might take a cheeky offer if they have dropped the price? Fingers crossed for you!!

I feel a bit shit today - phoned up the GP to get my latest bloods yesterday and my TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) has gone up from 13.1 to 15.43 which is crazy as I have been on the levothyroxine for 6 weeks now and have no idea why it has gone up and not down. Arseing babymaking wants your TSH to be ideally between 0.2 - 2 and mine is WAY above that - so until they increase my dose does not look like there will be a baby any time soon.

Sorry for me me post too - am going to sit by myself in the corner until someone hands me copious amounts of cider on Thursday. Oh and yes - its only going to go and bloody rain for the festival this weekend isn't it. Bloody Great. FKsj89jfhdj9()+((((**

cookiemoo · 03/08/2010 14:32

Sorry for not posting lately, just checking in to let you know I'm lurking and hoping there's a rush of bfp's soon.
I'm busy wishing the days away, hate the 2ww!!!
I'm struggling to keep up with how everyone is as I check in on phone so sorry if I've missed something. Sorry to hear bout your results lanky hope GP can help level things out for you soon.
To all those caught by ertd, enjoy the wine/ gin! ;0)

crazybutterflylady · 03/08/2010 15:33

Aww lanky can they not change the type of medication you are on? A friend of mine was on one kind which was a T3 and changed to another which was T4 (sorry that's as much as I know, I'm not really very clear about the names of the medication but can check if it would help?). Anyway she says changing has really helped?

And rain = wellies, wooohoooo! I love the rain when it's ok to get wet (ie you're not in your most expensive fabulous clothes en route to a fancy place); I think you should embrace it

Big hugs and sprinkles of baby dust all round - and some sort of evil spirit device to ward off the ERTDs xx

TigerseyeMum · 03/08/2010 16:38

Lanky It can take a while for your thyroid levels to sort themselves out and stabilise, it took me ages to get mine settled.Have they increased the dosage incrementally? Could be you are not getting enough. Hope they sort it soon

Is it normal to have period type pains mid-cycle? We've been SWIing since day 11 just in case, today is day 14. I am as fat as a house and am very achey.

Could be the endometriosis playing up if the uterus is getting busy, maybe. Dunno. It's like mild period pain and bloating. Guess I;m not pregnant then.

cookiemoo · 03/08/2010 16:51

Advance warning of a "me me me" post!!
Dh just rang for sa results and they've requested follow up sample in 3 weeks?? Of course now I'm convinced he must have a low count or else why request repeat test?? Surgery wouldn't give any more info ... So frustrated! It was so difficult for him to give last sample, he was really emotional and so was I. Can't believe he's gotta go through it all again. really wanna swear... Lots!!!

cookiemoo · 03/08/2010 16:53

Sorry tiger missed your post, sorry you're feeling pants. It's not over till ertd shows up. X

TigerseyeMum · 03/08/2010 17:09

Oh Cookiemoo, you never know....maybe there was a problem with getting a sample or testing it somehow that happens with blood etc sometimes, there can be something that makes them query the results that's nothing to do with the patient.

Hope it's nothing.

I have just worked out what ERTD means . Am a bit fick at times.

cookiemoo · 03/08/2010 17:27

I still don't know what swi means!!!
thanks tiger for the reassurance and I'm sure you're right, just gotta work with it I suppose and deal with whatever comes our way!

TigerseyeMum · 03/08/2010 17:39

Shagging with Intent.....

My bellyache s bugging me now. I do not want mid-cycle period pains, thank you very much! Unless it's the world's shortest cycle at 14 days!

Just my luck, we'd have been SWIing at the wrong time!

Karstan · 03/08/2010 18:09

TigerseyeMum - are you sure it's not ovulation pain? I get a crampy pain when I'm ovulating, my period pain is more just excruciating pain then cramping.

kurlyvoice · 03/08/2010 18:27

Hello girls,

I've been AWOL for a little while as I've been waiting for my appointment at the gynae clinic at the hospital, from which I have just returned, so thought I'd give you an update! TMI alert...

Apparently, except for a few soft cells on the outside of my cervix (which isn't a terribly bad thing but might have added to the extra bleeding), I'm looking ok to the naked eye. So I'm going to be booked in for a scan so that they can look for PCOS and other cyst-type things, and I have to have some kind of tests on the 2nd-5th day of my next period, but goodness knows when that will be - I've not exactly been regular! And then I'll go back to the clinic in 3 months...

Am feeling a bit most positive (despite having the private-bits examination which was deLIGHTful) now that I know that they're going to at least have a look at my insides and see if there is anything wrong there - maybe it is a bit of a blessing that I'm getting a scan earlier than lots of people because of my uber-long periods. We'll just have to see... And, you never know, our SwithoutI might lead to something first!

Anyway, I'm so behind with everyone else's news that I'll just say hello, wish you all well, and scatter as much babydust as possible to get some August BFPs on the thread before it runs out. Sorry that I don't know the newbies very well but I'm trying to cut down on the MNing as I'll get horribly obsessive again and I think that I'm in for the long haul.

TigerseyeMum · 03/08/2010 18:42

Karstan I guess it could be....will have to wait and see...will keep on with the SWIing.....

highheelsandequations · 03/08/2010 18:51

Just a quick hello from the lake district. Have been trying to keep up with all the news but need to do some proper reading before saying much to anyone. We've ben having lots of fun relaxing, eating and drinking too much and getting in plenty of practice for those all important days that are (hopefully) coming up. I have also managed to admit to DP that I'm taking my temperature and trying to figure out my cycles (had to admit it really after he noticed the beeps early morning!) and have even confessed to him that I'm thinking of acupuncture and alternative remedies. He hasn't run screaming so that has to be a good sign and it is a bit of a relief talking to him and not keeping everything so secret. Back home at the weekend but looking forward to catching up on the news and hopefully there will be some BFPs by then!

Will try and keep lurking. Hello to everyone I was chatting to and waves to those I haven't 'met' yet. Better get back to my chilled wine and decide which pub to head to for food, it's a hard life!
