Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

Hi! Would love to join, I’m starting to ttc my second but I find the whole ttc process awful. I wish I could find it exciting but I’m just anxious about the whole thing. I had a mmc and a chemical before my first, so I’m worried about that as well as the worry of getting pregnant again at all!
How are you finding not tracking?

Ladyinpink1 · 23/11/2024 20:36

Hi @BGxxx I'm really sorry for your losses, I think the worry never goes away after. I am a terrible obsesserso find a non tracking cycle alot less stressful, especially in the tww as I'm not quite as obsessive. Are you tracking? x

I think it’s nice to take a break from tracking sometimes! I’ve tried to track but my cycle has been all over, I had Ewcm continuously then all of a sudden a period! I think I’m going to try and track again this month but I do find it quite disheartening! Are your cycles normally regular? Xx

Ladyinpink1 · 24/11/2024 15:56

@BGxxx sorry that has been confusing, I hope your next cycle is better. Yes mine are pretty regular, but I also get ewcm most of my cycle too! I get it extra around ovulation time then more again a few days before my period. It is a pain as it can be confusing.
Will you use anything to track... like bbt or opks? Where are you in your cycle now? x

OP posts:
BGxxx · 24/11/2024 16:44

@Ladyinpink1 that is confusing!! I’ve never had it like this before so I feel like I don’t know what to expect 🤣 I’m going to use opks, I’ve never done bbt before but I’m up multiple times in the night so i think it wouldn’t work? I’m cycle day 4! Are you close to ovulating do you think? (Even though you’re trying not to track🙈) xx

Ladyinpink1 · 24/11/2024 18:30

Oh yes you are prob right @BGxxx sorry you are up through the night 😞. I think you need 2 or 3 continuous hours of sleep before taking your temp for it to be accurate. Opks are good too and makes you feel like you are doing something.

I use a bit of everything to track and it was good but at the same time, made me so obsessive, so by the time the tww came I was tracking every tiny twinge, convincing myself I was pregnant and eary testing... so driving myself a bit mad lol. I think I will have ovulated already. x

OP posts:
BGxxx · 24/11/2024 20:46

@Ladyinpink1 I did a test today even though I’ve had my period in case it was somehow implantation bleeding, obviously it wasn’t 🙈🤣 are you going to wait it out and hope your period doesn’t arrive this month? X

Vanilla90 · 24/11/2024 21:45

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining... I am a long time lurker on Mumsnet.
I'm not the tracking either as I don’t want to get obsessed! I'm 34, been TTC baby no2 since February. Unfortunately had a mmc at 11 weeks and a chemical at 5.
I'm roughly 8 DPO (I usually get one day of EWCM and ovulate soon after, so have based it on that) Trying to stay optimistic and not symptom spot, but easier said than done 🙄
Sorry to hear about your losses too. TTC, especially after loss, is hard! X

BGxxx · 24/11/2024 21:54

@Vanilla90 hi! Keeping my fingers crossed that this your month🤞🏻 are you going to test soon?

Vanilla90 · 24/11/2024 22:05

@BGxxx thank you! You too!
How long have you been TTC no2?
I keep telling myself to wait until AF is due, but that likely won't happen...

BGxxx · 24/11/2024 22:25

@Vanilla90 the first time I ever concieved I waited until a missed period, I wish I had that restraint again🤣 only since September, I’m still breastfeeding my first (who knows when that will end🤣) so I haven’t had a period until now! I’ve been really anxious about it and worrying I won’t be able to concieve until I completely stop breastfeeding which I don’t know how to do

Vanilla90 · 24/11/2024 22:47

@BGxxx I usually wait until a missed period, but reading stories of people getting BFP as early as 9DPO has had me testing early the last couple of cycles 🙈
I'm still breast feeding and managed to fall pregnant in May and then again in October. I've gradually reduced it down so my boobs don't explode 🤣 down to 3 feeds; morning, noon and night. Now going to start dropping the morning feed.
If you've had a period, you should be fine!

BGxxx · 24/11/2024 23:38

@Vanilla90 ooo really! That gives me hope!! Do you feed often overnight or just the before bed feed?? I was doing some reading saying that side lying overnight feeds are the worse for suppressing ovulation which I do everynight 🥲

@Ladyinpink1 & @Vanilla90 are either of you taking vitamins?

Vanilla90 · 25/11/2024 05:54

@BGxxx yeah, if he wakes in the night I do feed him. I used to worry about it too, but I think you need to be exclusively or excessively breast feeding for it to affect ovulation, like every few hours or something. If you're getting your period and ewcm, I'd say that's a good sign!
Just pregnacare really, because I have it leftover from when I was pregnant. I was looking at Preseed, but it's sooo expensive 🙄
Are you taking any?

Ladyinpink1 · 25/11/2024 07:02

I'm going to say that I will wait and not test, but we will see. I will try my best not to lol. I'm not sure, but as @Vanilla90 said I think you will be fertile if you have a regular period. Hopefully opks will give you some reasurrance also.x

I'm sorry for your losses @Vanilla90 How have you found the not tracking cycle and not symptom spotting? Glad to hear your boobs didn't explode lol.
I am the same, I previously had a faint bfp at 8dpo so that always stays in my mind as the time to test even though it's way to early x

With trying for so long I researched each new cycle for something to distract me, found so many new 'magic cure' supplements... it cost a fortune and none worked lol. But anyway, I recently had an appointment with a Gynecologist who deals with fertility and losses and she said all I should be taking is Vitamin D, Folic acid and a good healthy diet so I have cut down now. Still taking the above plus individual vitamins and coq10. x

Vanilla90 · 25/11/2024 08:43

@Ladyinpink1 I do feel less stressed not tracking. My partner takes medication and sometimes it affects us being able to DTD, so I didn't want the added pressure of missing optimum time etc. Last month we missed peak day and I felt myself getting angry, which isn't fair as it's not his fault.
TTC sends us crazy lol.
How about you? Are you just DTD regularly and hoping for the best?
I also don't want to test because if it's negative I'll be disheartened, but if it's positive I'll worry that it's not going to for last long.

BGxxx · 25/11/2024 16:17

off to a good start, forgot to take my vitamins this morning 🤣 I’m just doing vitamin d and folic acid for now, I took COQ10 and dha last time but I’m not sure they did anything! @Ladyinpink1 like you I researched every possible thing to try!!

Jess1066 · 25/11/2024 19:11

Hi Ladies! Hope you don't mind if I join too! We suffered a mc back in October at 9 weeks, we are ttc baby #1. Finally got AF yesterday for the first time since the mc so we are ready to try again on this cycle! I'm really sorry to hear of your losses as well, its such a hard thing to go through that no one understands unless you've experienced it!! Really struggled emotionally as my SIL was 2 weeks behind my pregnancy as well! But feel like the fog is lifting and hoping December will provide an extra special christmas present for us after such a dark autumn!

Ladyinpink1 · 25/11/2024 19:42

Glad you are less stressed too @Vanilla90 yes it definitely makes us crazy lol. We are dtd every other day, which does feel strange as normally we dtd lots over fertile time but it gets so stressful so dtd every other day is also alot more relaxing x

So much tesearching when ttc, Google should be time limited lol. Aw I hate when I get to work and realise I forgot my vitamins x @BGxxx

I'm sorry for your loss @Jess1066 it's still very fresh for you I'm sure. It's awful when a family member is also pregnant as you can't avoid them. Hopeful for us all for good news x

Vanilla90 · 25/11/2024 19:48

@BGxxx not the best start! Get yourself an old granny pill box. I got one as I either kept forgetting to take it, or kept taking them twice thinking that I hadn't 😂

@Jess1066 oh so sorry, that must've been hard at 9 weeks. I mc in October too. Someone at my work was pregnant, I avoided her like the plague.
How are you feeling now? How long have you been TTC?
Yes, some BFPs all round would make great stocking fillers!🤞

can’t imagine how rubbish that is with your sil, I’m sure you’re happy for her but sad for you! I avoided all pregnant people and anyone with babies in general which I do feel guilty about now but it can’t be helped!

Vanilla90 · 25/11/2024 20:00

@Ladyinpink1 well they say if you DTD every other day, then you get the timing just right.
I have been trying to do the same. Although last week I did say, "I'm really fertile now, so we need to go upstairs". It wasn't the most romantic approach lol.
I am envious of these people who accidentally fall pregnant after one drunken fumble.

Jess1066 · 25/11/2024 20:12

@Ladyinpink1 @BGxxx @Vanilla90 thanks for all your kind words! Yes it has been quite hard to have the extra feelings that come with a close relative who is pregnant but I think we are managing well and I feel in the head space to try again! We only started our journey back in July, we are both 29, so I fell pregnant in cycle #2 which we both considered ourselves very lucky! Feeling anxious into stepping back into the ttc journey, almost feel like my eyes have been opened to the negative side of pregnancy! Feeling worried about how long it will take us and also worried if we will experience another loss!

Vanilla90 · 25/11/2024 21:32

@Jess1066 if you got pregnant on your second cycle last time, hopefully it won't take you long this time either!
Will you be tracking this cycle?
Pregnancy after loss is hard, I worry it might happen again too, but trying to remain positive!

Jess1066 · 25/11/2024 21:38

@Vanilla90 yes I've ordered some OPKs so will start using them in about a week and a half! I hope so! Only thing is that I was due a smear on 12th December and during the miscarriage they mentioned they could see a small cervical polyp which I want to have removed! Nurse said they can do both at the same time! Currently would be due to ovulate 10th December so I don't know whether it would be advised trying 2 days before? What's all of your thoughts?

How are you feeling whilst you wait to see what happens?
