New ttc no1 thread.

BTW if anyone knows where those no1 babies are I'd like to know! If I was a real detective I think I would have been sacked by now!

mistlethrush · 07/08/2007 13:13

Hi Scorpio - glad all going well, keep us posted!

Nomore - great title (although, as you know, its #2 for me that's the mystery).

Surely everyone can't be having a break or on holiday?

nomoremagnolia · 07/08/2007 13:16

Glad you're feeling sick that doesn't sound right! Wish I could just test on instinct and get BFP but my cycles are too regular for me to not know when AF is arriving
Best of luck with pg and your new baby!

MT you are an honorary ttc no1 member (though why anyone would want that dubious hounour I'm not sure )

Welcome millie Yes it is for those of us ttc our first (except for mistlethrush )
I'm the 'oldie' of the thread, been trying for 20 months, how about you?

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 07/08/2007 13:19

mine were all over the place, so had no clue. only clues were:

weird cm:milky but not, creamy, almost white.

my cervix which normally comes very low just before period was so high i could hardly touch it-when i did it was v soft and wet. sorry if tmi.

i got up in the night on Saturday and was ill and fainted (sort of) - has only happened both times i been pg before. i sort of knew then...

feel terrible because i had at least 1 glass of wine a day on holiday last week [crap]

scorpio1 · 07/08/2007 13:20

am i an honourary member too? [proud]

nomoremagnolia · 07/08/2007 13:20
  • you've just started ttc. So tell me about yourself instead...
OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 07/08/2007 13:21

scorpio you can be our wise owl if you like

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 07/08/2007 13:22

oh ok. but not old-im only 22

nomoremagnolia · 07/08/2007 13:25

I didn't say old! You're just wise when it comes to ttc! BTW I'm sure I read somewhere that the baby doesn't share you bloodstream until about 6 weeks so don't beat yourself up about that glass of wine.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 07/08/2007 13:28

i thought that too.....should be ok, just was so careful all the other months, y'know? today i bought a pregnancy magazine and a special mum-to-be bath soak i still dont think its real....

nomoremagnolia · 07/08/2007 13:28

I consider myself the 'oldie' of the thread because of how long we've been ttc, not because I'm old (I'm 29) so same goes for you! Now stop being so sensitive, anyone would thing you were pg

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 07/08/2007 13:30

well i wish you and everyone the best of luck...and relax!

Millie26 · 07/08/2007 13:35

Thanks! Am 26 (really original username) and been with my bf for three years. We've just raised four chickens from an incubator and that made bf broody - men are weird! I have endometriosis and dodgy cycle lengths so it's going to all be a bit hit and miss I think...

Did a pg test yesterday just to make sure and it was bfn so actually really desperate for period to start so I can 'start again'. It's been 5 weeks or so now. Grrr.

What about you? Is 20 months longer than you expected? My doctor told me it could take a while. I need to have a test to check Im ovulating but I think I'll try for four months (until Christmas) and see what happens.

nomoremagnolia · 07/08/2007 13:44

We were trying for about 14 months by the time we made it to the GP, then discovered that although my cycles are regular I didn't ov, so was referred to hopital and they put me on Clomid to make me ov. Have just taken first cycle of Clomid and am now at the 2WW (two week wait) stage of my cycle. AF (period) due in a week.
Was it you who posted another thread about touching the chickens?

OP posts:
Millie26 · 07/08/2007 13:51

Ooo..exciting!! I think that you are lucky being so regular and knowing your dates but I can see how that is also SO frustrating. A lot of anguish on MN seems to be caused by not being quite sure though, and I have been SO convinced before that I was pregnant and then I had flu, or I was just PM or whatever. But you beleive it so much at the time.

ye that was me , I was wondering if people had advice and also if chickens are a bit dodgy, like sheep can be. Love the way you can ask anything on here...

Have been reading the boards for months, am pleased have finally decided to write something Everyone is so nice!

What is the test for ovulation? Is it a blood test?

nomoremagnolia · 07/08/2007 14:05

Yep, blood test on day 1 of your cycle and then again on day 21 to compare levels of different hormones. I've had another blood test this morning to see if I've ov'd with Clomid or not, should get results next week.

OP posts:
Millie26 · 07/08/2007 14:11

Can you get the tests done on the NHS? I dont think my work's health insurance would cover it although Im not sure. Do you pay for Clomid or can that be on the NHS too? In your experience, have GPs been sympathetic?

Sorry for all the qs, but I'm really interested.

graysongirl · 07/08/2007 14:36

Hello Everyone new and old!!!!
Been away from MN for a while now just been busy with work and trying to relax about ttc but I LOVE the new title so it drew me in again
Quick stats....I'm 30 and DH 35 and been ttc for 14 months (CD6 today)and have got our very first clinic appointment at hospital tomorrow.

It should have been the 22nd but they rang on Monday with a cancellation (some bugger got pg I'm sure of it!!!) but lucky for us so feeling ok right now.

Am a bit unsure of whats going to happen tomorrow, its only a nurse led clinic so will be prelim tests I think, had day 21 bloods done last cycle at GP's and results will be awaiting me at the clinic.
Any ideas of what will happen????

Thanks guys x x x

graysongirl · 07/08/2007 14:38

Just realised I have been totally selfish and not asked about any of you!! Sorry am nice considerate person really....
Just not caugt up on posts so have no idea where everyone is at in the ttc rollercoaster...how about a quick stats from everyone????
