Ok , that's it. I'm done leaving it to chance. Me and my partner definitely want to actively try for a baby. We've been letting nature take its course but not actively trying.
So I've downloaded Flo and added my last few period dates. I stopped the pill back in July after being on for 13 years.
I've got some of that seven seas Trying for a baby pre conception vitamins, I started my period very last last night/early hours this morning after being 3 days late . Normally I'm like clockwork with AF, but this month I'm late, starving, nauseous, and so tired. But obviously not pregnant if I'm on period!!
So today marks the start of us activily TTC. I'm making sure we DTD around my ovulation dates and I'm hoping for a BFP next time around...
I'm extremely clueless to pregnancy, I never realised how hard it actually is! School teaches you that it's a definite the moment you have unprotected sex!
I'm 25 yet feel like I no nothing!?
Can I test at any point or is it best to wait till the next time AF is due? As in wait till I'm late then do a test?
I don't smoke or drink heavily. May have a glass of wine here and there.
Any tips for this month? Hoping I'll get a BFP by December!!!
Fingers crossed!!
Anyone in the same boat?

Hello, I am in a similar boat to you.
I recently came off the pill in preparation for TTC at the end of Dec. I haven't had my first real period yet and will feel a lot more optimistic when (if.. ) that arrives soon. I have bought some OPK which I am starting to get the hang of so hopefully by Dec I'll have my cycle back and know when I'm ovulating- fingers crossed anyway!

ladytmp · 08/10/2018 22:11

@pastaallday good luck Hun! Mine regulated pretty much straight away, I finished a pack, had my period then just didn't take any more. Seemed to just make itself right! Hope yours regulates soon!
What I hate most is the waiting to find out!! Hopefully by Xmas we can both say we got what we wanted most this year!!!

Pastaallday · 09/10/2018 18:23

Thank you @ladytmp good luck to you. We are not particularly being very careful although using the withdrawal method and hopefully by Dec everything will be back to normal. Sort of feeling mild period pains so fingers crossed that arrives soon. Excited to properly start trying soon though

ladytmp · 12/10/2018 13:50

Well its been almost a week on the seven seas tablets, my period is pretty much done, id say tomorrow morning will be a safer time to DTD Grin ! My Flo app is telling me after today ill ovulate in 5 days?? Thought it was like 14 after last period? Im really hoping these pills help in TTC, Hmm im hopeful but trying not to get too worked up about it as i hate feeling let down, as we all do!!
Heres hoping i come back with good news!! Smile

Hi all so I'm on cycle three of ttc #1 and it's been an emotional rollercoaster. I really was naive enough to think it would happen first time or in three months, but here we are with AF likely to arrive any minute. All I can say is be kind to yourself in this journey. Allow yourself to feel disappointed and sad if you get a bfn but have hope & believe it will happen one day. It's all about patience which I'm crap at lol! Last month was emotional but this month I am in a much better frame of mind!
Enjoy this journey with your dp/dh as much as possible!
Good luck and get on it girl 💕 xx

Pastaallday · 12/10/2018 18:54

@ladytmp are you using opks? I've heard the apps aren't too accurate about when you're ovulating. My period hasn't shown yet but I've definitely been getting cramps. It's been about 3 and a half weeks since I stopped the pill.
I'm also worried I won't conceive straight away. I guess you don't know until you start trying!

MrsC87 · 12/10/2018 19:21

When I came off the pill in Feb it took 4 weeks for my period to come so it won't be long @Pastaallday.
I didn't use OPKs last cycle for the first time, and although I was more relaxed I think I missed ovulation. Going back to using OPK's next cycle x

Pastaallday · 12/10/2018 19:30

@MrsC87 yes I've been using Opks on and off for a few weeks trying to get the hang of them. When my period returns I'll def start using them more regularly. It's just i think I really need to test twice a day to be sure when I'm fertile but it's so hard at work!
I'm 31 too and although I know that's not old, I feel like it'll be harder for me. I'm more worried that I've never been off the pill for so long I don't know if it's hidden anything of concern. We shall see in a few months! Fingers crossed i get AF next week...

MrsC87 · 12/10/2018 19:39

Snap I'm 31 too and have had the same thoughts but went to see the doctor and she said there really is no way to tell other than trying to be relaxed and dtd every other day. She was quite positive and said it will happen so I'm believing in that for now.
I test morning and evening from about cycle day 10- my cycles are 28-29 days long. I think if you can have sex every 2-3 days (which is bloody exhausting lol) it should cover the fertile window.
Use the next couple of months to learn about your body because my PMS symptoms have been different every time. I just keep logging away on the apps! 😊

Pastaallday · 13/10/2018 19:02

Yes I guess you never know until you start trying! @MrsC8 have you changed your diet or anything since TTC? Although I am not TTC properly until Dec, I haven't really changed much I.e alcohol. I don't drink lots perhaps a bottle a wine and the odd G&T a week. But am still carrying on the same. I don't know if I should not be drinking etc when I do start but I figure it could take a while!
I'm just really hoping my period starts within the next week or so then will properly OPK. I'm hoping I'll be able to figure out when I'm ovulating although my husband does shift work so hopefully this won't be when I'm ovulating!

MrsC87 · 13/10/2018 19:14

I haven't changed a thing diet wise 🙈 I know I should be eating healthier which I intend to try this cycle. Booze wise I tend to not drink a lot but I think the odd glass of wine really doesn't hurt. Ultimately you've got to keep living and enjoying life otherwise it becomes all about ttc.
From what I understand after a positive OPK you normally ovulate the next day. So I try to dtd as much as poss in the fertile week to try and get as much up there (sorry for the vileness lol) before ovulation occurs. Does your hubby do 6-2/2-10 shifts @Pastaallday

Pastaallday · 13/10/2018 22:08

@MrsC87 He does a variety of shifts, 7-4pm whichh is fine as I can see him when I'm home from work, or 1-11pm which isnt good as i go to work before he's up and asleep when he's home! Or nights! I've not changed my diet either, obviously I will if/when I get pregnant but before that who knows how long it will take and like you said you can't get too stressed about it and still enjoy life!

ladytmp · 15/10/2018 10:40

@Pastaallday No im using the flo app and hoping for the best! I dont wanna use opks as if i know im ovulating and miss dtd that day ill stress more! We have quite an active sex life (im 25 hes 28) so im not too worried about sticking to particular days.
Ive stopped having as much wine, i will admit that!! But we are both trying to be as healthy as we can. He quit smoking and just vapes, and i cook, so i make sure its healthy... Other than that diet is the same.
Ive been on them seven seas trying for a baby pill things jsut over a week now, this morning i woke up feeling so sick... im guessing its them, maybe now having an effect.
DO you ladies wait till your late before taking a test or just test at any point you feel you may be pregnant?

OP posts:
MrsC87 · 15/10/2018 11:36

I test about 2 days before period is due but I'm not going to next cycle. Costing way too much and it becomes obsessive peeing on a stick 🙈😂 x

Pastaallday · 15/10/2018 20:20

Still no sign of my period... it's been 4 weeks' since my withdrawal bleed finished. I know it can take a while after you finish the pill but I just want it to start already Grin

ladytmp · 17/10/2018 10:40

@MrsC87 im getting terrible, i put it off then give in like 3 days before AF is due!
@Pastaallday any signs??

Apparently i ovulate tomorrow... bit annoyed and bit upset my partner isnt as up for DTD recently.. i feel bad as i know he has stuff on his mind, im just anxious we'll miss the ovulation window and end up being disappointed again come AF time...anyone else get annoyed by this? Its ok if hes not in the mood...but its like hes up for it all day, texting and stuff then come evening time, i make him tea and food and pay him loads of attention, then he just rolls over and goes to sleep...which is fine...but kinda need some action if he wants a baby...
Any ideas what i can do to help get him in the mood??
i feel like i could lie there with bacon suggestively placed on my body parts (he loves bacon...) and hed eat the food then go to sleep.... Hmm Grin

OP posts:
MrsC87 · 17/10/2018 11:09

Pounce on him as soon as he comes through the door @ladytmp.
He doesn't have time to get sleepy after eating and snuggling down for the night.
Sex, Eat, Sleep, repeat haha!
Come 9pm I'm out for the count so always do it straight after work lol.

ladytmp · 17/10/2018 11:28

@MrsC87 That sounds like a plan... Grin ill give it a go see what happens Wink

Good Luck @ladytmp 😉 get on it girl x

LKRJM · 17/10/2018 12:12

Hi all, new here. I’m in the same yet different boat to most of you. Me and my partner have been talking about trying for a baby and my implant is due to come out Oct 30th after running out in July. My periods have been regular whilst on the implant but a little less since may when I’m assuming it started to run out a little. Long story short this month I seem to be 17 days late, no ovulation, no period and negative tests. We’re not actively trying as we didn’t see the point while the implant was still in as they can run over or so I’m told. Going on my last period we didn’t have sex anywhere near my ovulation dates and in fact it was already after I’d missed my period by a few days so I’m aware that I’m 99% not pregnant and maybe just didn’t ovulate but still it’s confusing when I’m only just figuring out all the dates myself Grin

Sorry I don’t understand all the abbreviations just yet I’m sure I’ll be up to speed in no time! Thanks and good luck to you all TTC (I KNOW THAT ONE YAY) xx

ExpectantPatronum · 17/10/2018 13:35

Hi all. Mind if I also hop on this thread?
I was on another thread but that one is such a downer, and is pretty much focused around one selfish person! So I'm staying away before I tell her to get a grip!!
So hi all... I'm 29, TTC #1, on cycle 5 but had an early miscarriage (at 6 weeks) last month so not a clue if this cycle is going to be messed up. Flo says AF should start on Sunday so🤞🏻she stays away and I get that BFP. (Big Fat Positive [test] for @LKRJM)

LKRJM · 17/10/2018 14:17

Haha thanks for the abbreviation @ExpectantPatronum fingers crossed for you and very sorry to hear about the miscarriage! So nice to finally be able to talk about wanting a baby. Hate it when friends and family ask as it’s always should of done it years ago or ‘when are you gonna have a baby?’ Etc. I’m only just 28 been with my partner for 12 years, we just wanted some selfish years first. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly for all of us xx

ladytmp · 17/10/2018 14:19

hey ladies!
@LKRJM im still none the wiser to half the abbreviations on here!! Yeah ive never had the implant myself but my best mate had it and it totally messed up her cycles, but then its different for everyone! Smile good luck to you in TTC !

@ExpectantPatronum ..firstly, great username there Grin !! Oh dear , not great! also, sorry to hear about last month... fingers crossed for you this time around!! Smile How are you finding Flo in regards to ovulation dates and AF dates being accurate??

OP posts:
cherrylo86 · 17/10/2018 14:49

Hi, I feel we are in similar positions! I am 32 and TTC#1 but was on pill for 15 years up until April this year when I came off it to give myself a chance to find my natural cycles. My AF was becoming barely non-existent on the pill we think due to stress as blood tests etc. were normal. Anyway I had my first proper AF in July then again in September so because I am still irregular I am clueless as to when I ovulate!! There is so much I had no clue about when it comes to TTC! You honestly don't learn any of this in school that is definitely or sure!

We have been TTC since my last AF in September, and if my cycle was regular I would have been due AF on Saturday just gone but it hasnt shown yet. I tested on Sun but BFN, maybe it was too early, maybe I haven't even ovulated! I am on cd38 but that at the moment is normal for me and my Flo app reckons my next period is not until 3rd Nov but they got it wrong last time so who knows!! It also reckons my ovulation date is Friday so we are DTD most days just in case!!

ExpectantPatronum · 17/10/2018 15:05

@ladytmp I find flo really good. Like earlier I put in that I had cramps (which I did at the time when I get up, but haven't had since) and it changed my af day to Sunday instead of Monday. But I'm quite regular so I'm counting it as Monday.
Also, not so much this month, but previously I did my BBT every morning and put that in so it told me when I ovulated. I personally think taking your temperature is the best way to determine ovulation.
