Ok , that's it. I'm done leaving it to chance. Me and my partner definitely want to actively try for a baby. We've been letting nature take its course but not actively trying.
So I've downloaded Flo and added my last few period dates. I stopped the pill back in July after being on for 13 years.
I've got some of that seven seas Trying for a baby pre conception vitamins, I started my period very last last night/early hours this morning after being 3 days late . Normally I'm like clockwork with AF, but this month I'm late, starving, nauseous, and so tired. But obviously not pregnant if I'm on period!!
So today marks the start of us activily TTC. I'm making sure we DTD around my ovulation dates and I'm hoping for a BFP next time around...
I'm extremely clueless to pregnancy, I never realised how hard it actually is! School teaches you that it's a definite the moment you have unprotected sex!
I'm 25 yet feel like I no nothing!?
Can I test at any point or is it best to wait till the next time AF is due? As in wait till I'm late then do a test?
I don't smoke or drink heavily. May have a glass of wine here and there.
Any tips for this month? Hoping I'll get a BFP by December!!!
Fingers crossed!!
Anyone in the same boat?

@ladytmp hope all is ok for you.

@MrsP4 try DTD every other day while in the window. My friend was DTD everyday a few years back and wondered why they weren't getting pregnant (took her only a couple of tries with previous two kids) and the dr said that his sperm isn't getting chance to regenerate properly... so basically firing blanks!

@Thinkcalmthoughts welcome lovely. The only advice I have is don't expect a quick process. I'm on cycle 5, possibly about to be 6... it doesn't seem a lot when you say it, but while living it, it seems a lifetime! (And I have long cycles 35days)
Also don't stress about it, track what you can without it putting pressure on you. Get to know your body too.

ExpectantPatronum · 25/10/2018 07:04

Oh yeah so update on me... 🤦🏼‍♀️
Still no signs of her. DTD last night and there wasn't even a tinge of colour, absolutely tip!! So I'm going to test again on Saturday morning and see what that says. (Unless she turns up before then!)

MrsP4 · 25/10/2018 08:24

@ExpectantPatronum that's mainly what's been happening, Work makes things hard I've been on lates so not been getting home till about 1am so it's been hard the last couple of days, but it is what it is and if it's meant to be it will be 😊

MyloC · 25/10/2018 08:30

Does anyone have any advice re OPKs I’m finding they are getting lighter not darker yet! On CD13 and think I usually ovulate CD 14 so would have thought it would be getting darker by now! First time using them so not sure what to expect.

@expectantpatronum hope AF stays away! You have a lot of willpower waiting until Saturday to test again.

MrsC87 · 25/10/2018 12:31

Hey ladies not been as involved as been getting over a cold. I'm now ovulating I believe as I got a positive opk last night and today.
So I dtd Tues night, last night and intend to do it tonight and tomorrow. FX this covers all bases.
@MyloC are you using the one step OPK's from amazon? I find them so difficult to read at times but as soon as the colour is as dark as the test line I take it as a positive and get bonking lol. Do you get any other ovulation signs?

ExpectantPatronum · 25/10/2018 20:09

Yeah so I didn't have to wait till Saturday. The witch turned up this afternoon!! 😔
Oh well, on I move to cycle 6!

EltzBee · 26/10/2018 09:38

@MyloC this month I only caught one 'strong line' OPK test, the rest were super light. I use some cheap sticks from Amazon.

@ExpectantPatronum ah sorry to hear that, but yes, onwards and upwards to next cycle! At least she turned up and didn't do a 'missing but late' act which can be so mean.

ladytmp · 26/10/2018 16:41

@ExpectantPatronum thank you, sorry to hear the she devil turned up... sucks so much!
Well i hardly bled after my punch biopsy, and a bit of discharge but thats pretty much all gone now... problem was it looked just how implantation would look!
@MyloC I have no willpower... even though ive had a lot of symptoms this month id be super shocked if i got a BFP this month..we barely DTD and with me having the biopsy that means no DTD till im healed which just then happens to be when AF is due....ah well at least ill be ready to go again next month..

I did however pee on a stick yesterday....firstly because i thought theres no way it can be BFP this early... secondly i wanted to get rid of the last test so i wasnt tempted to kid myself close to AF arriving and giving myself false hope Grin so irrational i know...
Although i swear i could see the faintest of lines...probably just me being hopeful...
but im not gonna believe it until AF is due or late...
and im not going test mad again like last month and making myself sad...
so i will wait it out!!!
help me

ExpectantPatronum · 26/10/2018 17:03

@ladytmp glad all went ok.
You should have given the test to your other half to hide so you wouldn't get tempted until she's late. I'm glad I have enough will power to keep myself from poas every two mins! (I think I'm just a typically tight Yorkshire lass who doesn't like forking out for expensive tests all the time!) 😂

MyloC · 27/10/2018 18:38

Hi ladies
Sorry been a busy week with work! Still no positive OPK but they are getting darker and hoping tomorrow is the day!
Sorry to hear about AF @ ExpectantPatronum hope you’re not feeling too down!
How is everyone else getting on?

MyloC · 27/10/2018 21:34

Sorry to double post but I've just had positive OPK on CD 15. We DTD last night but DH is away tonight. Will DTD tomorrow when he is back but really just looking for reassurance that we won't have missed an opportunity!

MrsC87 · 27/10/2018 22:48

I think we are definitely cycle buddies @MyloC, the exact same thing happened to me this cycle. Positive OPK on Thursday lunch but dh was out Thurs night. So we dtd Friday night. Also Tues & weds before.
Try and dtd in the day tomo, but the night should be fine! Also if you can do Mon too, but I know that's quite a lot of BDing! Lol x

CrossedToTheDarkSide · 27/10/2018 22:51

Hey everyone, hoping I can join in even though I missed the start of this thread. Came off my pill end of MAY!! So “technically” it’s been about 5 months but only had AF twice! Super long cycles atm, like nearly 8 weeks a go! Sad Trying my best to stay positive. Just bought a fertility guidance book, loads of super cheap OPKs, a thermometer annnnd a bunch of cheap pregnancy test off Amazon so I feel like i’m knuckling down now and getting into the swing of things. No idea when I ovulate. Had some weird symptoms the last week or so (not really weird but just period/ possible pregnancy ones) praying it’s BFP obviously but also would settle for AF!
Anyone else have really messed up/ long cycles?! I have read so many “mine came back normal straight away”. Feeling like a right reject over here being all out of sync. Trying my best not to symptom spot or start self diagnosing just yet!!

MrsP4 · 28/10/2018 09:50

Hi everyone it's currently Day 8 of flashing smiley face and really starting to think that I missed my surge and started testing too late with the clear blue digital I started testing about two weeks ago with boots ovulation strips had a few days with one line and then last Sunday I had this (Photo attached) I only started using my clear blue on the Sunday after I'd got the two lines and I think I've missed my surge on the digital as I was only testing once a day, and obviously still keep getting the flash until it detects the surge which I think I've now missed! The boots strip ties in with my app that I've got, it's a bit of a tricky one as it's my first month off BC but if that's all correct then I would currently be in my TWW, the last week I've had lower back ache, a few cramps and today I feel a bit nauseas AF I think due around the 3rd Nov so next sat 6 days away, what do you guys think?

MyloC · 28/10/2018 11:56

@MrsC87 Okay hopefully if we cover today and tomorrow we will be ok!

@MrsP4 I have absolutely no idea these OPKs are seriously confusing me. It could just be you’ve missed your surge on the digital and as long as you DTD around the days you got your positive on strips you should have covered it!

Now I’m beginning to doubt if it was positive or not! would you guys say the last test is positive?

TTC #1 Journey starts now
MrsP4 · 28/10/2018 12:22

@MyloC yes we DTD around then few days so fingers crossed! Yes that last one definitely looks positive! Xx

Pastaallday · 28/10/2018 16:28

Hi @CrossedToTheDarkSide I'm also waiting for my period to start. I've not been off it asking as you(around 6 weeks) but feels like ages with other saying it was only 28 days! But I have also heard of people that got pregnant with very irregular cycles too. I'm going to make an effort to track using opks this month to see if i can see any patterns.

EltzBee · 29/10/2018 11:34

@MyloC I'm a bit late to the party but would say your last test (on the right) is positive - the two lines are very similar colour.

On CD29 today, 11DPO. Waiting for AF to arrive...got a banging headache and temperature has dropped to only just above base-line, so pretty sure the wicked witch is on her way again this month.

ExpectantPatronum · 29/10/2018 11:56

@EltzBee gutted for you if she does turn up love.
Mines just on her way out so fingers crossed for this month. I really don't wanna put it on hold for a couple of months.
I started taking pregnacare conception (well we both did, got the his and hers one) and I honestly don't feel any different, some ladies said it changed their cycle or made them feel quite sick on it. Anyone else taking anything like this?

EltzBee · 29/10/2018 12:59

@ExpectantPatronum no sign of her yet, but we'll see. I might test later (expecting it to be a negative but would get the urge out my system!!!) - assuming I can sorry TMI 'not wee' for a few hours! lol. The things we do to ourselves eh!

ExpectantPatronum · 29/10/2018 13:32

Oh god tell me about it!!
Well I've already told DH that this month, every time we DTD he has to finish in a position where I'm able to raise my legs without moving too much! I think that's how we managed it last time haha. Tbh I'm even thinking about 'plugging it in' there with a tampon 🙈 just to make sure none of the lil soldiers leak haha
Now that is tmi- soz!!

EltzBee · 29/10/2018 14:47

@ExpectantPatronum oh gosh that made me laugh!! I'm sure I read somewhere that it doesn't make much difference in reality as it's not a 'straight line' that suffers the effects of gravity lol!!!!

EltzBee · 29/10/2018 18:02

Sorry for the double post. Gave in this afternoon and POAS - sadly and to be honest expected, a BFN.

Feeling a bit sad. But on to next month. Hadn't been sure whether to take a break (worried about being pregnant in July/August or a summer-holiday baby) but think we've come to conclusion now after more disappointment that it doesn't matter, so long as it happens and is healthy.

Still waiting for AF so I know officially I'm not out, but with temp so low and feeling like she's imminent, and a BFN, pretty sure I am out! Time for a Brew and Cake...

MyloC · 29/10/2018 20:31

@EltzBee really hoping AF stays away you just never know!

Well I’m officially in the TWW. Is it me or has this cycle went soooooo slow Confused

How’s everyone else getting on?

EltzBee · 29/10/2018 20:58

@MyloC good luck!

I'm having a longer cycle than normal so yes definitely dragging for me haha!
