So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Hi I'm 7dpo on my first cycle ttc no2. I'm already symptom spotting obsessively.

Numberjacker · 04/08/2011 23:09

Hello!

I am 4 or 5 past dpo (I think), trying to take the casual approach of not charting etc just yet (as if) as am only on ttc cycle 3.

I like your new pad, and the Lego makes me feel right at home Grin

Numberjacker · 04/08/2011 23:10

Oh and "yes please" to the offer of vino, as am officially ceasing drinking tomorrow, just in case...........

HerniaGranger · 05/08/2011 10:12

Glad you feel at home. Thought I'd pop in this morning to add a few finishing touches. There are now biscuit crumbs on all the chairs and damp patches on the carpet. All that's missing is that yogurty/wet-wipe/burp smell that small children create. Maybe that would be a step too far?

Well, I'm on ttc cycle 2. Thought I'd use OPK this cycle just to see what my tired old carcass is up to. Hopefully won't get too obsessed this time. Hmm

Haha, I'll arrange for some sticky hand prints on the window and we're there!

Am refusing to have any testing sticks of any variety in our house, then am not tempted, as have zilch willpower......

HerniaGranger · 05/08/2011 19:51

I am definitely, definitely, definitely not going to buy any more ovulation sticks after this lot. No way. Absolutely not. Nope.
It's so easy to get carried away with it all and let's be honest, it's probably the only time in your life when you're happy to do a big wee on something and then hold it right up to your face! (Unless, at weekends, you like to call yourself Madame PeePee and have a slave who enjoys that sort of thing. Each to their own...)

Ahem. Got a bit carried away then.

Right. I'm off for a big glug of wine. May as well make the most of it while I can because I'll probably be pregnant next week. Yeah right!

Hello, feeling very much at home here! Decided last week to take the plunge and ttc dc no 2! Exciting but a little scary knowing what's coming....! Only came off the pill last week although mother nature (or my own optimism) is hinting that this month I may be in with a chance!!

Nice to meet you all Smile

HerniaGranger · 06/08/2011 20:02

Hi. Really glad you've all joined me in the drinking den. Have just put a very tired (but still struggling) DC1 to bed. Not too bad but it made me wonder what it'll be like when there are 2 of em. Been thinking about a lot of things like that recently. How are you all feeling? Are you more nervous or relaxed about things this time? I'm actually getting a bit nervous about pregnancy and I'm not sure if I'd want to tell people as early on as we did last time. I don't know why though and that's what's freaking me out a bit. I know I'm being a daft cow but I can't help it! And I'm not even pregnant yet. Did ovulation test this morning and got nothing but a blue line that says 'Congratulations. You peed on the stick correctly. Well done you. Now go away, there's nothing to report here. Gahh...

One last question - Is it safe to mix Biscuit and Wine

OP posts:
Clandy · 06/08/2011 20:12

Well dd1 wasnt planned so for rme it is very exciting getting to do the whole planning thing but also abut scared as I was very sick last time n dreading all that again! Do keep obsessing about similar 'what about when there are two of them' type things but as my dp so wonderfully put it - how amazing will it be when there are two, two lots of cuddles, twice as many kisses and two wonderful little babies. And that seemed to make it easier for me... Smile he can be lovely when he wants to be!! Haha!!

How old is your dc1?? If you don't mind me asking..?

Clandy · 06/08/2011 20:13

Oh and I think it may be required to have biscuits with wine... Grin

HerniaGranger · 06/08/2011 20:26

He's almost 2. I think because his birthday is coming up it's making me think back to pregnancy and birth etc. I had a straightforward pregnancy but a very long labour. I remember lying in the delivery suite with my knees up to my chin, getting very upset that my baby might have a lonely childhood because he wouldn't be having any brothers or sisters. I honestly didn't understand why women put themselves through labour more than once! But, here I am again, planning another one.

Your DP has a nice way of putting things. My DH just looks pale and worried.

Am mixing biscuits and booze already. Wild woman Wink

Clandy · 07/08/2011 08:52

Haha. Yeah I know what you mean my dd is 18 months n I feel so sad that she doesn't have a brother or sister for company. She has a new baby cousin that she loves and think that is what swung it for us as I know she will be such a fab big sister and she is old enough to do lots of things by herself and will definitely be by the time another baby comes. I do worry she may feel a bit put out as she is often very centre of our attention (not in a spoilt way!!)

For me it was the oh having to convince me to begin with so I'm fairly lucky there Smile

No wine or biscuits fir me... Although it's only 9 o clock so may be issues if there was Grin

Numberjacker · 07/08/2011 14:11

Hi all,

Hope all is well with everyone, will try not to spill ice cream on the sofa! I reckon am 8 or 9 dpo, and am finding it really dull waiting! DD (almost 3) keeping me busy though. Took me ages to decide on ttc %232. Although I had a dream pregnancy, the birth and few weeks afterwards were soooo stressful, i couldn't even contemplate it until this year. But now the decision is made I am full steam ahead, just blocking out the labour part in my mind........Smile

Clandy · 07/08/2011 18:52

Oooh excellent I quite fancy some ice-cream!! Thanks Smile am armed with baby wipes if there are any spills and everyone knows they are the miracle solver of everything!!
Had small panic today after reading another thread by someone who has just had baby no2!! But think I am recovering well, esp with that ice-cream!!

HerniaGranger · 07/08/2011 20:11

Awh brilliant! Thanks, Numberjacker. I just fancied an ice cream, too. Glad you brought baby wipes Clandy. I must use my own body weight in wipes each week. And that's a lotta wipes, ladies!

Had a nice moment in car today thinking how lovely it would be with two kids in the back. However, DS is refusing to go to sleep so that's a bit of the shine gone off that little day dream. Imagine 2 not wanting to sleep.

Bless him. He's shouting out knock knock jokes. Trouble is, there's no punch line. Still, if it's making him happy Smile.

Clandy · 07/08/2011 20:25

Haha my dd is singing random parts of songs and just plain making some up (think "cat meow meow cat" sung by 18 month old) adorably cute but she goes to bed at 6.30!! I just went in and told her to go na night and she very firmly told me no way na night! Little monkey! Pass the paper bag please...!

HerniaGranger · 07/08/2011 21:54

Here you go. . Sorry, it's got a hole in it. I blew too hard and it burst.

Anyone got any news /symptoms? Think I've got ovulation pain. But then again, it could be wind. No blue line on ov stick this morning. Anyone seen my egg? Maybe it's gone down the back of the sofa. It's where most things seem to end up these days!

OP posts:
Numberjacker · 08/08/2011 08:18

....and breathe, Clandy ......

Numberjacker · 08/08/2011 08:24

Had very slight back low tummy ache last night, was v excited until I realised it is prob more to do with bending in the garden to do some weeding yesterday, as opposed to egg-burrowing. But we live in hope!

How is everyone else this morning?

HerniaGranger · 08/08/2011 10:56

Will keep everything crossed for you Numberjacker. Hope it is an egg settling down for a long-term stay!

I'm fine this morning. Got a pale blue line on ov stick so fairly confident my body is still a child-bearing one. (Definitely got the hips) Hope it'll darken tomorrow when I test again.

OP posts:
Clandy · 08/08/2011 11:20

Thanks for the bag seems to have worked! Feeling much better today think it's cos dd is teething she is a little bit hard work but been walking round asda pointing out babies to me so I know she will be fab!

Fingers crossed numberjacker (my phone auto corrected that to lumberjacker and made me chuckle a bit Smile) hope it's a lovely big egg sticking, would be helpful if there was some easy way to tell not just symptoms that could be anything!

Hope that line gets darker, I'm sure it will and you can just jump the oh just incase Grin

Think it's still a bit early for me yet if everything is back to normal after pill could be next few days but I shall have to wait and see not bothering with ov tests just yet but watch this space haha.

Clandy · 08/08/2011 11:22

Ps. On searching for your egg hernia I found the missing toy Cow two odd socks and a small pile of raisins... No egg tho so must be in the right place Smile

HerniaGranger · 08/08/2011 11:41

Phew! Thanks for that. Just chuck the socks on that pile over there.
