So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Hello ladies .... [pops head in with tray of ferrero rocher]. can I join please? Have read your thread from the beginning. Congrats to all of you expecting dc2. And congrats difficulttimes on your engagement.
I'm 36. My DS is almost 8 months and as of nye we are ttc no2.

Numberjacker · 03/01/2012 21:13

Hi Kitty, welcome to the lucky thread, I hope it is lucky for you too x

QueenOfProcrastination · 04/01/2012 09:18

Popped in to see how everyone is and we've got two reasons to celebrate. Congratulations on BFP Vicky and on the engagement Diff.

Warning - TMI Alert - I'm waiting to POAS. AF either due today or Friday. Don't really know which as although had a little bleeding last month dead on 28 days, AF didn't really get going properly until 30 days.

Not sure whether to POAS this morning (desperate for a wee but going to wait until DH gets up as he's still on holiday and its his morning for a lie in) or wait til Friday / Saturday. One issue with waiting until Fri / Sat is that there's a night out involving alcohol on Thursday. Hmmm. No sign of AF yet apart from being hugely irritable and grumpy, but I felt like this just before I got BFP with DD.

QueenOfProcrastination · 04/01/2012 10:20

BFP! Excited and scared all at once, and feeling guilty about lovely DD and how she'll cope with having to share Mummy and Daddy.

kittycatcat · 04/01/2012 11:45

Huge Congrats QOP (hope abb is ok?!). Very exciting.

agirlcalledvicky · 04/01/2012 17:12

Thanks for the kind wishes. And HUGE congratulations QOP and Saxony for the BFP and for Diff for the engagement. Best of luck for everyone else and Hi to Kittycatcat - hope you are next in the recent run of BFP.

How are those who got a BFP recently feeling? I am guessing I am about 6/7 weeks now - I have a midwife appointment a week on monday and they said they would get a dating scan done asap after that. Feeling v tired and a bit sicky in the evenings which is very similar to last time. Also been getting some small amounts of brown spotting (kind of old blood IYKWIM) and feel far more paranoid and worried about MC than I ever did when preg with DS. I am also starting to panic about how DS will cope with sharing with a baby - he'll only be about 2.1 when DC2 arrives. What gap are you expecting between babies? I sound really ungrateful I know - I am really thrilled to be pregnant but I just feel very worried this time and want the scan to be here and know everything is ok I guess. Sorry for the ramble!

Chunkychicken · 04/01/2012 17:39

Hi all. Can I join the lucky thread please??!! We've literally started TTC #2 over Christmas & already I'm a bundle of nerves.

Didn't even try with DD; just had contraception-free sex twice, at apparently the right time, although I had no idea that was the case at the time... Had to wait to POAS as was on honeymoon abroad when AF was due!! We actually decided to TRY now & I'm barely resisting the urge to buy the ov kits etc. I'm becoming obsessed. Add to that the BB tenderness, nipple sensitivity, emotional/teary feelings now and I'm desperate to POAS despite AF not being due til nxt wk.
How does everyone else cope with the longing/anticipation??!!

QueenOfProcrastination · 04/01/2012 18:33

Vicky know exactly how you feel about worrying about DC1's reaction. DD will be 2yrs and a couple of weeks when DC2 arrives if my due date calculation is right. I was 2.6 when my little brother was born and I've got some lovely memories of mum being pg and him being born, but I'm worried that DD will be a little too young to understand it all and to bond with her DBro / Dsis. Whenever I think about DC2 in isolation I'm really excited, but when I think about DD and DC2 I get scared.

Also Vicky, Try not to worry about the spotting, I had it from 6 weeks with DD and all was fine, but it was terrifying at the time.

Saxony, sorry I missed you out before - congratulations on the BFP. How are you feeling?

Thanks Kitty good luck with your SWI

Welcome Chunkychicken to what is turning out to be a very lucky thread.

TbotsMummy · 04/01/2012 20:46

hey ladies....congrats on the bfp's and the engagements!! lovely start to the year :)

well Im on cd28 today, technically the witch is late as for the past 5 months I've been having 24-26 day cycles but I have a feeling she is on her way, I suspect she may be late as I have been unwell with a tummy bug and a cold although if she hasnt come tomorrow I may have to think about testing....eek!!

Only problem is the test that I have is a cbd and unfortunately it expired in July last year....oopsy....probably give it a go anyway lol.

xx

smithster · 04/01/2012 21:19

hi everyone! just thought I'd pop in as DH and I have just started trying for number 2 (by just I mean in the last half hour Blush TMI sorry).

Anyway this comes on the back of 2 miscarriages since DC1 so we're hoping for more luck this time.

I'll be popping back in to keep up to date with everyone else too Smile

Best of luck to you all

FlirtyThirty · 05/01/2012 18:47

Hello everyone!

DS Is 2 and a bit and we've jut started TTC #2...I'm over-excited at the prosect already! Nervous that it will take time, esp as i'm hopelessly impatient and it was so unexpectedly easy to conceive #1 that I just don't believe it will happen that way twice! Totally illogical but true!!

So... TTC #2. Cycle 1, CD9

Flirty x

saxony · 05/01/2012 20:09

Hey girls. Can I come back...my bfp wasn't a sticking bean. It started Monday and I am still losing. I have never cried so much, I really didn't think that I would be so upset as it is so early but I think it's because I have waited so long to have dc2.
I still can't believe it's happened. I am booked in for a scan on Tuesday but doubt I will go as it's obviously pointless now. It would be more heartbreaking to hear the words.
So I am starting all over again - well I will be eventually, feel I have been run over by a bus at the moment.
Anyone here had any experiences of miscarriages etc?

kittycatcat · 05/01/2012 20:37

So sorry saxony. big unmumsnet hugs.

wifey6 · 05/01/2012 21:11
