So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

I have told him I'm coming to get him if it's any longer than Tuesday Grin

Hungry may be a sign....? Never had to wait before I'm bloody impatient I have just realised haha!!

Been watching one born every minute to keep me company whilst oh is away haha Smile possible freak out brewing....!?

HerniaGranger · 13/08/2011 22:27

Oooh you cavewoman, you! Go get your man from London and drag him back by the hair if necessary - his country may need him but so does his missus! Grin

Is One born every minute on TV now or are you watching it on demand? Have barely seen any episodes and fancy watching some now.

Hello, this is clearly the place i need to be. Just to be clear I will not be testing until at least wednesday, not at all, that will be 10dpo and that is when i got a positive with dd1. So, there, we are clear, no testing before then..... because that would be ridiculous wouldn't it.

Hope you are all well, nice to meet you, feel like I must be mad TTC DC2, DD1 is a crazy thing, lovely, but totally exhausting. But here goes, tin hat on!

OP, you are right, re. lego although had an unpleasant experience this morning when I found a lump of playdoh in my shoe and thought it was a mouse.

So Wednesday it is....

Clandy · 13/08/2011 22:33

Yes yes yes monkey puzzle (very good book one of our fav bed time reads) Wednesday and not one day before!!! Cave woman has spoken! Grin yeah is a bug decision to have another but we shall soldier on to two childness.. Imagine deciding to have 4 or 5!! Haha

Dam right I have been very tolerant of his being away but if there are no problems I want him back (possible no problems due to police presence but forget bout that Blush) and yes watch one born every min it's great with a new perspective (not seen since before having dd) Smile

HerniaGranger · 13/08/2011 22:37

Hi Monkeypuzzeltree. Great to meet you. Sounds like our children are kindred spirits! I've had to ban playdoh in our house - it just created ugly scenes. If he wasn't eating it he was smearing it across living room window. Trod (barefoot) on a plastic tractor yesterday but then again most of you probably heard me screaming. Still, not as embarrassing as today when wheeling the wee fella round supermarket. He thought shouting "Help! Oh help" was really funny. Blush

So not testing til Wednesday then? Ok... (tee hee)

OP posts:
monkeypuzzeltree · 13/08/2011 22:41

Wednesday, for sure, it is ridiculous when people test before then, you would never catch me doing anything so daft, I mean, really!

You will remind me of this on Monday won't you...

Clandy · 13/08/2011 22:43

Ooops for got to add lovely to meet you!! Smile think my dd needs to be added to the crew she is a little monkey bless her! We live the playdough in our house it makes lovely pictures when rubbed on the walls Grin a little artist (pest!!) in the making...!

HerniaGranger · 13/08/2011 22:46

But of course. Wink

Just a theoretical question: If my period is due around 22nd, when could I (theoretically) test? Obviously won't be testing early either. Nope. No point. Already convinced myself on basis of grumpy mood that I am not with child.

OP posts:
monkeypuzzeltree · 13/08/2011 22:59

Thursday if you get the ones that are 4 days before...superdrug ones are, no doubt there are many others. But of course, I would never advocate such actions...ahem!

Right off to bed, 4 more sleeps until wednesday....this has to stop!

Clandy · 13/08/2011 23:01

I have tests in my draw (no use to you I understand Grin but along similar lines...?)

Sensible Clandy "no its too early if you bfn it will be unnecessary disappointment if you are and you will only do the test again in a few days which will have much more accurate result"

Normal clandy " do it do it do it now!!!! And tell me what happened so I can do it or not Grin"

Clandy · 13/08/2011 23:02

Oooh and hernia I was in the worse ever mood when up the duff with dd in the early days and I most definitely was with child!! I even have proof she is asleep in the next room

Numberjacker · 14/08/2011 10:16

Morning ladies! Hello MPT, nice to meet you.
I'm going to assume the level-headed, practical role of the group and say "step away from the tests"!
My theory is if you leave is as long as you can you get a more accurate result and save a few quid. Personally I would rather get AF than a BFN. They may as well change 'not pregnant' on the result to 'of course you're not you stupid cow' for the feeling of despair it gave me last month. Also, if it is a BFN on an early test, you'll doubt it anyway.
I know everyone is different and it's all about which is better for you. Anyway it doesn't really matter as they'll all be buns in the oven, so it's ' when' and not 'if' Grin

Goes off to look up 'practice what you preach' on google ...........

PS Clandy - perhaps a few mumsnet fake-rioters in your area would speed the return of DH? Our DCs and a tub of playdoh would do the trick!

HerniaGranger · 14/08/2011 12:39

Ok, I swear on the lives of Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends that I will not test before AF is due.

Now that's a BIG promise!

Btw, I like NumberJ's idea about fake rioters. DS is at the ready; tooled-up with contraband play-doh and a plastic hammer.

OP posts:
Clandy · 14/08/2011 14:04

Yeah let's get on it, dd will be up from nap in about half an hour and the mood she is in today she could beat those rioters hands down Grin

I am agreed with the no tests although I have no clue when af is supposed to visit so may test in a week or so just to be sure although I feel like i have missed the boat this month but it's only 1st month so not a disaster Smile

Numberjacker · 14/08/2011 14:28

BTW, I have no intention of policing the no-test-before-AF idea, as I'll just get swept along with everyone's excitement, but I'll do my best. I have 2 CBD tests in the bathroom cupboard so will need all my resolve in 4 weeks time. Maybe I should have left the price-tag on to help me steer clear of thm until absolutely necessary.

Right Clandy, can you let OH know we have playdoh and water pistols, and are not afraid to use them. we'll be in the town centre at 4pm (and if he can hurry home as bed time is 730 Wink ). That should give you time to get in some SWI first. - Apologies for lowering the tone.

Clandy · 14/08/2011 15:03

Haha it does make perfect sense not to test! And we are all grown women with abundant amounts of patience Grin so we will do cave in to such silliness....

Yes I will tell him to come with back up and baby wipes!! Bed time over here is a mean 6.30 so will have to hurry then let the swi commence for everyone GrinGrin although you will have to wait an hour!!

Clandy · 14/08/2011 15:04

Oh n also super very good idea bout the price tag would put me off! I only went for asda cheapy maybe I know I'll cave in..!

HerniaGranger · 14/08/2011 19:57

Tip of the day: Always look where you are going when walking down stairs in a floaty summer skirt.

Fell down stairs this afternoon. Think I've broken my bottom.

OP posts:
monkeypuzzeltree · 14/08/2011 20:17

Hernia - ouch! But really, you should follow the rules of our house at the moment which is me shouting all the way down the stairs, "bottom down!". As DD learns to come down the stairs on her bottom, with me going first so she copies!

Clandy - give my daughter a teaspoon and a saucepan and she can stand in your highstreet and start her own riot. Mr Clandy will soon be sent home to sort her out. That and ducking playdoh being thrown by the other children we'll get him back!

BTW, for your information, I have not tested, have not thought about it and am absolutely not considering it before wednesday. Pif, honestly some people have no self-control. [sneaks off to stroke the tests sitting in the bathroom cupboard]

Clandy · 15/08/2011 12:40

Ouch hernia sounds painful! Least you managed a summer skirt, where I am it is already autumn more of a wellies and cardies day Smile

Let's get these kids some play-dough n go crazy! One more sleep til I can stop boring you with my pining (sp??) Blush

Clandy · 15/08/2011 12:41

Oh n monkey I was laughing my backside of with thoughts of you hiding in the corner stroking pregnancy tests! Well done for not testing!!

monkeypuzzeltree · 15/08/2011 13:28

[stroke, stroke] hello my pretty things....

FYI they are still on the shelf, minding their own business and I am not testing today. I am however going to Asda this pm to do a big shop and they do sell v.cheap packs of two. Not that I will be buying more you understand, I'm just wondering if the others are getting lonely.

Now tomorrow morning, now that will be a test not to test!

HorridCold · 15/08/2011 14:15

Can I join please? I'm not actually TTCing#2 yet although so desperately want to be... But it would be a bad idea financially, DD was only 2 in June and can't afford 2 lots of childcare, plus only managed to persaude DH in July to have another one. He's really not keen but is doing it for me...

So, we plan to start in January TTCing. We're having to base it on the assumption that it may happen straight away (first month with DD) because if we started trying now and it happened straight away, we'd be up a very deep creek with no paddle in sight...

But you all sound like such a jolly group! I officially started the 'First Time Frolickers' threads over 3 years ago (although I stopped going on there when I had DD and we all moved to FB instead) and it's still going strong. It's amazing the bonds that can be made on here.

So, I am coming along, chocolate biscuits, virtual wine and homemade cake in hands, to beg to join... please? Blush

monkeypuzzeltree · 15/08/2011 14:34

Come, come and join the group. Of course you can only join us if you agree totally, that testing too early is a completely ridiculous thing to do, and not something that you would ever do. None of us are testing early, we're not even thinking about it, AT ALL.

And, you have to get your DD trained at throwing playdoh and starting a riot near Clandy's house as we need her husband to be sent home pronto so she can jump him.

And you have to share your biscuits and wine. Homemade cake - am impressed!

HorridCold · 15/08/2011 14:38

Oh thank you Monkeypuzzletree, I feel very welcomed! By the way, I have to ask, is your name down to the book Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson (one of DD's favourites...) or the actual trees - both of which I love by the way! Grin

You are welcome to anything that I bring along! The biscuits are milk chocolate hobnobs, the wine is Sancerre and the cake is Orange sponge with Orange Buttercream - decorated with orange and lemon slices. Dig in! Smile

Soooo - I swear on Charlie and Lola's books (very important in this house) that I will not test early! (When I start TTCing that is - Wink).
