So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Anyone just seen Vanessa's flip-out on EastEnders? That'll be me if I get a BFN on Monday.

monkeypuzzeltree · 15/08/2011 20:28

DD did eat a variety of things on the way round, I swear one of these days they will weigh her at the checkout.

Oh the shame of bodily functions during labour, with no warning whatsoever, I threw up over DH. Oh the shame!

Pass the wine, it's been a long day.

Clandy · 15/08/2011 20:28

Haha well they have seen far worse than a 'nut' so I wouldn't worry. Pooping was a big issue for me I don't even let dh know I do it (Blush) let alone want him too see. I did pee in one of those silly hat things at the hospital and while high as a kite on gas n air told oh to drink it when he asked what he needed to do with it then continued my naked walk of the maternity ward (when I asked oh why us was naked he said he had no idea I just took all my clothes off as soon as I got into birth pool room despite not being told I should Blush or anything!) whilst being chased with a dressing gown and rather stressed oh!! Was worse for him by far....!

monkeypuzzeltree · 15/08/2011 20:30

Nope I save Eastenders until lunchtime sleeps, it's my time when i can watch what i want without DH tutting about how depressing it is. I like soaps, so sue me!

Clandy · 15/08/2011 20:32

Not a soaps fan over here I am afraid am usually clearing up the chaos if the day n dint sit down til stupid o clock then time for bed - do have afternoon nap me time tho!! I don't nap billet have been watching one born every minute... Smile

monkeypuzzeltree · 15/08/2011 20:33

That's brilliant Clandy, good job you didn't leave the ward.

I on the other hand was very careful about packing my birthing clothes - a particular t-shirt I thought would be appropriate for giving birth in - WTF?! Was also in the naked gang within about 5 mins. Guess there are lots of things you won't stress about second time around.

Numberjacker · 15/08/2011 20:45

I go away for an hour and there's 30 posts to catch up on! Wine poured, so am settling in for a catch-up!

HorridCold · 15/08/2011 20:50

Oh my goodness - I'm still reeling from the Vanessa flip-out too! Great acting but what a fruit-loop - it's the way the hair moves all the same way - that hairspray must be amazing!! Grin

Clandy, your poor OH Grin, he must have been mortified!! I have to say that I kept completely covered up the whole time - I was really self-conscious about it!! I have no idea why... Hmm I think the throwing up bit would have been the final straw for me though. I've got a phobia about being sick (amazingly DD hasn't caught one stomach bug yet - but I'm waiting for it), so they gave me anti-sickness drugs with my epidural. Even with everything that I went through during the labour, I was still more scared of being sick than anything else - bizarre hey!!

Monkeypuzzletree, I know what you mean about clothes. I went out especially to buy some cheap T-shirts and polo-shirts for wearing during labour. I kept them all in their packets aswell. What a doughnut. I hadn't intended to be there so long but ended up using all of them, but saving the one for the delivery suite??!! Of course, I had to put a hospital gown on anyway so didn't end up wearing it! DH has just been ironing it - yes, two years later and I still wear it with my joggers when I'm working from home. Grin

Hernia, I'd better keep the Sancerre flowing if you're going to be like that you get a BFN - the rest of us will need it! LOL!

Anyway ladies, I need to have a shower and then go to bed. I've been on holiday for the last two weeks so I need to be up bright and early for work again tomorrow and to get DD off to the CM for 7.30 - yawn!

Have a lovely evening and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow.

xx

Clandy · 15/08/2011 21:02

Haha no way I never even though even for a second about giving birth clothes Grin I did want oh to have matching clothes after the birth to baby so paired them in white and was frantically ironing ohs top after waters broke as I couldn't possibly go to hospital without it!! Smile I am fairly sure there will be new things (and completely as unnecessary as the first time round) to obsess over this time tho! Oh lord I need paper bag just thinking of such things.... Good luck for testing tomorrow I wanna know at the crack of dawn!!! Smile fingers crossed

Clandy · 15/08/2011 21:03

Hernia not bfn!!!! Oh no I wont allow it Grin

monkeypuzzeltree · 15/08/2011 21:07

Could you just give me a virtual slap and tell me not to be so ridiculous to think testing before bed is a good plan. What is wrong with me...!

Clandy · 15/08/2011 21:09

No no no!! Not before bed rule one of the unallowed early testing is it has to be first morning pee!! Virtual slap and wrestling the test to the ground, hiding behind sofa... You'll never find it now

monkeypuzzeltree · 15/08/2011 21:15

Really, does it have to be, really, truly?

Numberjacker · 15/08/2011 21:23

Numberjacker catches the test and drop-kicks it out of the window..... Not tonight, Josephine! (no idea who Josephine is, but DH says it all the time)

You can have it back tomorrow if you promise to play nicely ......Wink

Clandy · 15/08/2011 21:24

Yes I insist (sorry) but you have technically an extra day if you wait n that in early days can amount to a fair %age of accuracy and you don't want to be disappointed before bed! Can you imagine if when kids Santa had come early but not brought any gifts.... Would have spoilt Christmas day!! iyswim

monkeypuzzeltree · 15/08/2011 21:25

Sniff.

HerniaGranger · 15/08/2011 21:34

Think you'll find that wine bottle is empty. (hic)
First morning wee = better result. Listen to us ladies now.

I got nagging pain in pelvis. Pregnancy symptom or just result of stair incident? I know, I know, it's too early.

OP posts:
Clandy · 15/08/2011 21:35

Let us know IN THE MORNING (and then only) I am excited for you and off to indulge in one born every minute. Night all

Clandy · 15/08/2011 21:37

Oops just got tucked into bed and bedside draw was open a bit so went to take my pill....

monkeypuzzeltree · 15/08/2011 21:41

Hernia - hope the cat behaved!

Night all, sooner I go to sleep, sooner I can get up and be ridiculous. Thanks for the slap!

Numberjacker · 15/08/2011 21:41

Oooh HG, pains like that can be pg! Some other threads cite a 'dragging' feeling. You shouldn't be falling down in your condition! Lol

HerniaGranger · 15/08/2011 22:03

Gasp... That's exactly what it feels like. It starts from the top left of uterus area and goes down to the bottom right.
Should be studying but will check out those threads. Thanks for that NJ.

Speak tomorrow ladies!

MichaelaS · 15/08/2011 23:06

Hi all! I'm still hanging around, but was away at the weekend. Good to hear so many of you are socialising in here over a Wine. sorry to hear horrible birth story though and AF getting a few - boo.

I'm so symptomatic i'm absolutely convinced i'm pg, even though last time i was feeling like this i was definitely not pg. DH thinks i'm mad and i'm playing it down with him. But i'm not even attempting the self control on the testing. 15 tests for 2.29 plus 50p postage from homehealth-uk.com so can test 3 times a day if i like.

Got a BFN on friday and sat mornings. was away sat night so no tests on sun morning, then tested this morning and got a tiny thin hint of a line. i put it away and looked at it later in proper daylight and it was still sort of there. could be a dodgy test, could be a very small BFP (Little Thin P?)

Needless to say am testing again tomorrow morning. My excuse is that i drank a lot of water in the middle of the night yesterday and had a huge wee in the morning, so obviously the wee volume would mean the hormone was diluted, right?

AF was due today and I felt like I was getting it but no show yet.... Today I would be 15DPO and 16DPO tomorrow. Didn't get positive test with DS until about that.... see how high my hopes are built?!

good luck hernia and everyone else who is definitely not testing! :)

Numberjacker · 16/08/2011 07:19

Hi Michaela that sounds sooooo positive. Looking forward to lots of BFPs this morning, hurrah!

HorridCold · 16/08/2011 08:25

Morning all,

DH started work extra early this morning so his alarm went off at 2am! Having been woken I then couldn't get back to sleep until 4am - boo hiss!

Up at 6am to put a chocolate cake in the oven as it's my friend's birthday today. Got DD up at 6.30am and off to the CM for 7.20am and now I'm working. What a busy morning already!

I made an extra cake of course for you ladies. Another chocolate one with chocolate buttercream 'Princess' style decorations.

Enjoy!!
