Hi all, can I come in please?
We are on cycle 1 of TTC #2 and I'm already compeltely obsessed. I reckon i'm about 11DPO and already did a test. Last time round it took us 6 months to get pregnant and I spent a fortune on tests. This time my solution is not that i'll refrain from testing (its never going to happen) but instead that i will buy cheapo internet pregnancy tests in 10ug sensitivity so i can test ALL THE TIME and it will still only cost me a tenner a month. that's the plan anyway.
DS is 2 and a little bit and gorgeous, but he was born v prematurely and i'm petrified about getting pregnant again and being put on strict bed rest whilst i have a toddler to look after. but i'm not letting common sense take over and am stubbonly ignoring the fact this could be a real problem and steaming ahead on the TTC anyway. DH is quite happy with the idea, but not sure he's thought through the childcare implications of having me banned from standing up. but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
So, question, should i test tomorrow? 12DPO too soon? i think last time I think I got a faint positive on CD29 and a definite on CD30 which would have been about 13DPO i think, but i was probably using the 25ug tests so obviously it is completely reasonable to test daily from about 8DPO this time, right?
oh, and sedgiebabie yes do get a smear done before, you can't have them done in pregnancy and its not something you want to miss, the consequences can be horrible if you have cell changes which are not picked up and treated quickly. From memory, it takes about 10 years on average for a viral infection to start changing the cells, go through CIN 1, CIN 2, CIN 3 and turn into cancer. CIN 1 is not always picked up on smear tests and my CIN 2 was missed and when I got my first bad result from a smear I already had CIN 3. I would hate to think of delaying it another year due to pregnancy and ending up with cervical cancer, just doesn't bear thinking about. Smears are horrible but they prevent much much worse things so they're definitely worth doing! :)
