Thread 13 - the one with a cheesy advent calendar of 67 jumpers

Decided to combine both thread title suggestions :)

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for helping me out and I'm so excited that I was on my computer and she tagged me so I could set this one up - hurrah!

Feeling super festive today after getting the decorations up and visiting Father Christmas. Exciting news is the Christmas bedding and jumpers are all down from the loft and being washed, so I'll soon be able to walk around in my 'I [heart] Christmas' jumper Xmas Grin

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.
Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

I think I’m going to cave & get the Aldi grabber machine. I like the idea of it coming with plushies that we can put back in so I don’t need to keep refilling it with sweets!
I saw a swizzles grabber in B&M today which was £12.99 but I wasn’t convinced

Is there anyone with at 20 year old daughter who can give me some ideas for a gift of about £20? I wondered what was currently the thing on TikTok. She has fake Stanley cups already. Are laneiage lip masks popular with that age group? It’s for my son’s girlfriend. I could ask him but I don’t think he’d be much help. Thank you

CalliopePlantain · 05/12/2025 14:29

@hiredandsqueak i got my quirky hard to buy for late 20s dd a skull panda popmart thingy for her birthday and she LOVED it.

hby9628 · 05/12/2025 14:36

My DH just asked me if I’ve finally finished Xmas shopping yet 😬
he’s been off sick so I need him to go back to work so he can’t see what else I buy.

hiredandsqueak · 05/12/2025 14:39

@CalliopePlantain Had to google, not for dd1 but it's a great idea for dd2's birthday in February as that is right up her street thank you. I've bookmarked it. Usually hate the February birthdays but you might just have solved that issue in advance.

Yes LaNeige is a good shout. Or Charlotte Tilbury website has some good reductions, there's a lip trio of pillow talk reduced to just over budget that I've been eyeing up for my 19yo.

Slightly random one… has anyone used Must Have Ideas as a website before? I’m being tempted by Elf Tape and Ho Ho Hooks, for hanging Christmas decorations…. Not sure if it’s worth it, or more importantly if there is a bargainous way of getting these things?!

sillygoof · 05/12/2025 15:33

Someone asked about 3 for £20 in B&M - apparently it started today

I can’t help you with whether there’s a more bargainous way to get them but I’ve used them and the items I got were good!

Isle of Skye candles have free postage at the moment. Plenty of referrals for £5 off over on the referrals thread. Also if you fill out your details, refer someone or ‘have a birthday’ you can accumulate points towards get discounts. I filled out my details and got 50 points which is 10% off. Beautiful candles!

Gardening Express have special deals on today - £1 for red poinsettia / white or red cyclamen, mini xmas trees £5.97 and others. Looks like a maximum of 3 per person.
They have lots of plants / bulbs etc to go in the garden as well as these house plants.
Delivery is £6.99 though.

Thank you so much even with the delivery its a bargain
I was going to get 2 of the Xmas trees, they had an offer 3 for £9.99 so cheaper to buy the 3.

I have finished buying apart from a gift for my dad, he’s 71, loves gadgets but has most things already. Loves his little garden and his pond (fish pond). He’s always really hard to buy for as he just buys what ever he wants. I am tempted to just take him out to a restaurant near us that’s just opened but he’s not the easiest person to sit down and eat with. Last year I got him a voucher for the garden centre.

Londonmummy66 · 05/12/2025 16:47

IRL shopping today and stumbled upon a Monsoon/Accessorise sample sale in the church opposite Heals on Tottenham Court Road. I didn't get much but there were some bargains to be had - from £30 for the wedding dresses to £2 for the hair accessories plus rails of adult and children's clothes/shoes and accessories. Proceeds go to the Monsoon Charity which seems to do a lot of good work so a win all round. Its on tomorrow 10 -3 if anyone is heading into town.

hby9628 · 05/12/2025 16:49

Picked up the floral street discovery set from M&S today. It looks really nice. It’s definitely going on my present idea list for next year.

Arregaithel · 05/12/2025 16:50

@Moonlightfrog

Would a growhouse fit the bill?

Lock Picking kit that got recommend on here a couple of years ago might fit the gadget element!!
