Thread 14 - the one where I'm still not sure what a cheese spoiler is

Welcome to Christmas 2025!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

CalliopePlantain · 05/12/2025 07:50

B&M are starting their 3 for £20 instead of 2 for £20 on toys today. I’m off to stock up for the charity collection.

Fuckingfuckssake · 05/12/2025 07:57

Good morning Reastie, thanks.

SomeFiggyPudding · 05/12/2025 08:04

Thanks for this. Last year got DTwins some nerf duo type things as a last minute twitch as something joint to open with their stockings and they spent all morning playing with those. Best £20 spent!

Thanks! My cheese arrived yesterday too so thanks also to that person.

Toooldforlonghair · 05/12/2025 09:37

Thank-you for the new thread. My first year on it and I love it.
I have decided that I am stopping using MN (too nasty these days) but will keep my account open just for these threads.

I think I may have read that there is some sort of prequel thread that runs throughout the year am I right? If so I'll bookmark and follow as I'm someone who buys ahead.

Chocolateteabag · 05/12/2025 09:41

I've caved and ordered the Degustabox advent calendar too - thanks to @Hereslookinatyoukid for the code

You need to log in or create an account with Degustabox
On the main page they then have 3 different calendar options - the £39.99 option has the discount (£15 off and free shipping) - but just double check it doesn't bounce out and add a different code (which is less and doesn't include P&P) Total cost should be £24.99. I went Paypal too - will see when it rocks up!

Ordered it at £30 for DBro and he has loved everything so far (Coffee, chocolate spread, chocolate biscuits, sweets)

I do the exact same thing! The prequel threads are great all year round to buy in advance, and for birthday gifts etc. I’ve saved so much money and had some amazing inspiration from these boards 😊

Rugtambourine · 05/12/2025 10:11

Long time lurker of these amazing threads! Attempting to catch the dairy milk bargain years ago was my early hours, deprivation fuelled, breastfeeding hobby with my eldest!
Hoping for some bargainous advice from the wine connoisseurs. My DH wants to try a "good/fancy" bottle of wine (as opposed to our usual supermarket ones). Generally he likes a fruity wine- rose or white. Any ideas?
We've done laithwaites, virgin wines before.
Thank you!

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/12/2025 10:17

@Rugtambourine have you ever used the offers from naked wines or good pair days?
They usually have a cooler box offer which is good!

edited as I didn’t read the original post properly 🤦🏼‍♀️

GiddyDog · 05/12/2025 10:20

@Rugtambourine @TheGirlWhoLived i'm no wine connoisseur but would second the Good pair days cooler offers, ours has come in handy for day trips, came with tumblers and an insulated bottle.

Totally agree. I've had some nasty comments when I've tried other threads. On the other hand, I've had good advice when I've started threads to ask about something, so I guess I'll go back to being a lurker!

Go your nearest Majestic wine warehouse. They often have very good offers in store and the staff really know what they’re doing

Fillybuster · 05/12/2025 10:33

@Rugtambourine i have an £80 voucher for Naked wines to use on their welcome pack - I think it’s single use and you have to sign up for more than one. DM me if you’d like me to send it over.

What does he usually drink and what are you looking to spend on a bottle? I might be able to suggest something...

Mads96 · 05/12/2025 11:30

Anyone know what the good pair deal is? Thanks ! 🍷

zacsGranny · 05/12/2025 11:32

Gemjar wool socks were recommended on here and are lovely.
10% off with code THANKYOU10

I just bought these bao bun and sushi toys in Sainsbury’s this morning. Usually £4 but were £3.

Hoping my DS (12 years) loves them, particularly as we made sushi in Japan earlier this year 😃

Where did you do the sushi in Japan? I'm going there in June

Justforchristmas · 05/12/2025 12:43

Lakeland has free delivery at the moment.

ruralwanderer · 05/12/2025 14:00

I've just finished wrapping and have realised that I've bought nothing for my husband or mother in law yet. Husband wants a home brew kit but I have no idea which one to get him as I don't drink - can anyone recommend one that makes lager? He likes lagers like Cobra, Staropramen, Estrella. Thank you! :)
