Thread 13 - the one with a cheesy advent calendar of 67 jumpers

Decided to combine both thread title suggestions :)

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for helping me out and I'm so excited that I was on my computer and she tagged me so I could set this one up - hurrah!

Feeling super festive today after getting the decorations up and visiting Father Christmas. Exciting news is the Christmas bedding and jumpers are all down from the loft and being washed, so I'll soon be able to walk around in my 'I [heart] Christmas' jumper Xmas Grin

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.
Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

I went in to Temptation today and bought some really cute Christmas soft toys (see pics). They are made by Keely’s and are £9.99 each but they’ve got an offer of 3 for 2 on the Christmas ones. I thought they were a nice alternative to Jellycat.

I just want to say thank you for everyone who recommended Whistlefish, I always thought why is everyone talking about a card company, they are just adds, but I’ve recieved my cards today and they are honestly so beautiful.

Especially thank you for whoever gave me the idea of purchasing one of their tins and popping cards and stamps in there for elderly relatives. I’ve done exactly that and I’m really cuffed, makes a lovely present.

All credit for the codes belong with @juicyjellybaby tbh 🙂

@juicyjellybaby Thank you - what a great deal it is!

What am I doing wrong with the HC codes?

That’s strange, it worked fine for me. I used the ‘WEL’ code then added the ‘checkout’ code and it stacked fine

Sasha07 · 04/12/2025 23:14

@fishfingersandchipsagain have you used it for an order already/previously? I found that when I went to do a second order to use both stackable codes, it wouldn't work so I had to make a new account, it worked for that.

Hi as anyone seen a good deal on Peugeot or Le Creuset salt and pepper mills? I feel a twitch coming on.....

@MerylSqueak I have a Peugeot salt grinder on the way from Potters Cookshop, they have a good range of colours, despatched the day I ordered and worked out slightly cheaper than Amazon. I got a lovely email after the despatch one thanking me for supporting their small business ❤️ It’s not arrived yet though so I can’t 100% vouch for them yet 😅

If we didn’t already have the pepper one (bought for DP and he declares it one of the best presents ever!) I might have been tempted by their sale on larger Le Creuset ones. Love the ombré look.
They also have the amazing Wicked Le Creuset and had it reduced for Black Friday weekend.

3 for 2 on selected products at The Body Shop.
includes body butters, shower gel, hand creams and body yoghurt. Just got 3 body yogurts for £26 (£13 each). Includes new festive scents.

Unfortunately have to add delivery as no click and collect).

Have added my referral link to the referral thread for 20% off when you spend £20 but doubt they will stack with this promotion.

Has anybody seen a nice hot chocolate mug with a wide brim? It’s for 18yo ds, I’m doing a little hamper (I’ve gone for the m and s chocolate flakes I think), but I’m struggling to find a suitable mug.

Matalan had lovely ones with candy cane style brim and handle, good quality .

This is it, it’s a lot bigger than it looks .

@VisitingSanta I also ordered on 25th and had nothing yet. I emailed them and got the standard its a bit longer than normal email.
I'm not too worried as this was just a little extra for BiL but its irritating as its one of only a couple of things that Im still waiting for.
I ordered a couple of years ago for my kids and it didn't take this long! Not impressed this time.

@Reastie just a heads up my lovely that we are almost at page 38 so I reckon we will need a new thread tomorrow.

Have to admit to not having kept up with the thread, so no idea about thread titles other than to say that I am utterly baffled by the concept of 'Cheese Spoilers?'

<runs away>

Earlier there was a typo where someone said "bugger budget" instead of "bigger budget" which I also thought was potentially thread title-worthy.

MamaK19 · 05/12/2025 06:43

@Wowsersbrowsers @Hereslookinatyoukid ah thanks unfortunately I am in Devon and doesn’t look like there are any stores even remotely near me - I may have to reconsider and go for their second choice which is from Harrods, but also £5 delivery 😩 @ExhaustedHousewife I will let you know if I manage to find any discounts in the meantime 💜

DandelionDahlia · 05/12/2025 06:55

Topcashback have £2 bonus cashback on a £10 purchase today. You have to opt-in on the Topcashback website.

SleepPerChanceToDream · 05/12/2025 07:13

Quidco have a few good ones today as well. £10 Argos, £10 M&S, £20, £60 Harvey Nic’s - all with a minimum spend, but could be a nice little bonus for those who were already planning on buying from those retailers.

MerylSqueak · 05/12/2025 07:17

Thank you @HerInfiniteVariety and @keepincool . I'm going for potters because the Costco ones are OOS and the Le Creuset at Potters are an excellent price at £23.99.

Can anyone link to the Freeman hardy Willis discounts please I am sure I remember reading something but didn't pay attention at the time

@PocketRocket2024 Thank you so much! That’s gorgeous, I’ll brave Matalan at some point Smile

Can anyone recommend any affordable chocolate for a chocolate fountain? I read it can’t be just any chocolate ideally

I've had a chocolate fountain, same one since they very first came out about 20 years ago and found Galaxy to be the best chocolate to use as it's the most oily. The instuction manual for the fountain recommends adding some flavourless oil such as Sunflower to aid the chocolate flow and through our own experimentation we find Galaxy requires little or no oil.

@Teensknowitallthat grabber looks great. My DD has asked for one of these. I might cave for that price although I’m still sort of loathed to get her one!

Our daughter got one when she was about 10 (she's 25 now). I was not keen but she bought it with her herself. Turned out to be one of the most fun things we ever bought. It came out every party, family gathering including wedding reception and was loved by all ages. It suddenly died at our summer BBQ and am going to take a look at the Lidl/Aldi one as it looks the same. Funny enough it only yesterday we mourning the loss of the old one as we have a party tomorrow night and people have mentioned it.
