Long time lurker. Even longer Christmas lover. Here's my tree from last year. Please share photos and spread the joy of the season. I will never apologise for being a Christmas addict.

That's a lovely colourful tree!

Swanlake98 · 03/11/2024 09:02

Mine from last year too. Which will be the same this year.
I love Christmas and so enjoy opening the decoration boxes and ‘rediscovering’ all the treasures!
Topper is a fluffy rat. The cats insisted lol.
Yours is so colourful and joyful.

This was 2 years ago, it was the first time we had a real tree. I was obsessed!

Last year we had a little potted thing because of the baby and I don't know what we'll do this year with a toddler 😬

Ooh I’m watching with interest as I need a new tree this year. I want a pre lit one but can’t afford to pay too whack for one

Walkley18 · 03/11/2024 09:29

Here's mine. I love my artificial snow frosted/ glittery tree and love decorating it each year. Having grown up with coloured lights, its warm white for me now.

Thank you. I love my Santa's workshop vomited tree! My mam used to say I had the best family tree as it was so gaudy and tacky it was a proper Christmas tree.

I agree about rediscovering the treasures. My tipsy looking angel topper was my mam's, who died 21 years ago. I've got ornaments from my nana's tree, who died 42 years ago. It's always lovely to recapture happy memories when they're taken out again.

I've seen people put little child gates around the tree to protect them from small children or pets. 👍

Thanks, but our house is really very small and our toddler very active/doing parkour on everything 😬 the cabinet that we had the potted tree on last year now houses a TV so I don't think we can even do that.

This was mine last year. We have a full height hall so we can fit a really tall tree in. Our dog isn’t keen though.

Beautiful tree. I'm envious of your hall!

Oh god ours is much more thrown together than any of these!

JenniferGreenHat · 03/11/2024 13:52

Lovely trees 🎄

Our tree is a mismatch of decorations - from places we’ve been, decorations the children have made, family photos. Baubles with photos of my grandparents take pride of place at the top. I’m not sure whether to add tinsel this year. It’ll go up in about two weeks, how exciting!!

SomeFiggyPudding · 03/11/2024 13:52

This is such a lovely thread! Here’s mine from last year - theme is ‘chuck it on’. Fairy on top is the one from my childhood, classic 80s affair ❤️ I’ve loved looking at everyone trees! It makes me so happy 🎄❤️

Love it! It's just like mine 🎄

Aw I love those 'chuck it on' trees!

Sadly I don't have decorations from childhood etc. I'd love to have a meaningful tree like that.

WYorkshireRose · 03/11/2024 14:13

Not the most exciting but I miss it nonetheless. Roll on December 1st ☺️

The trees all look beautiful! Making me feel happy and festive 🎄

TimeForBedSaidZebadee · 04/11/2024 21:13

Those are all lovely. I cannot wait to decorate for Christmas 😀
Here is ours from last year, it was a silver, grey, white theme.
We've recently decorated so this year will be rustic green, gold and brown.

You might be surprised @TheBeesKnee! Our toddler was obsessed with climbing but we went for it with a huge tree, explained to him to be gentle and careful with it, and it was never an issue. I was more concerned about the kittens and actually they were fine too and would simply sit watching the lights twinkle. For both the toddler and the cats, I'd just avoid putting any really nice, glass ornaments at the bottom. Good luck!

We do our tree quite late but I’d love to see more pictures of decorated Norway spruces. We always get a Nordman fir but I fancy a bushier tree this year! I just wonder if they’re as easy to decorate.

Fairnair · 04/11/2024 22:13

This is our tree from last year, got a puppy fence to try to stop out cat from eating & climbing the tree. It did make it more difficult for her to eat it, but I’am afraid the fence aided the climbing when we did not notice her scaling the fence.

This year we have decided not to put the tree up, mainly because we have had a stressful year (illness & bereavement) & we don’t feel like setting it up, takes ages, plus retrieving the cat from the tree several times a day wears a bit thin.

Sorry meant to say love all the trees.

Samandytimlucypeterolivia · 04/11/2024 22:56

Some of these trees are giving 80’s/90’s vibes and I love it. That’s how our tree has always been. Can’t be dealing with a well uniformed aesthetic tree.

Ahh, I didn't think about animals using the gate to climb the tree. Yours does look lovely. I'm sorry you've had a bad year and hope you can find some little pieces of joy during the season.
