Long time lurker. Even longer Christmas lover. Here's my tree from last year. Please share photos and spread the joy of the season. I will never apologise for being a Christmas addict.

I love our tree, we've had it years but we're finally getting a real tree this year and I'm EXCITED!

It's a rainbow 'throw everything at it' style. Most decorations from the Disney store and lego over the years! It's very silly and it makes me happy. Star at the top made 10 years ago by 4 year old DC!

(Excuse the horrible black wallpaper. We'd just moved in. Thankfully all redecorated now!)

Wow @MrsMitford3 it's gorgeous! Off to add lametta to my shopping list...

Edgeofthesea · 05/11/2024 14:38

Love this thread! There are so many joyful, beautiful trees 🎄 I think @MrsMitford3 takes the (Christmas) cake for me, it's gorgeous 😍

Here are our two from last year - the 7ft one in our main living room upstairs, and then a narrow 6ft one in the kids' playroom/snug.

We bought the 7ft one for our old house with deceptively high ceilings, but we've moved house since and I'm still going to try to fit it into our new living room, and keep two trees! Maybe one in the dining room? I love letting the kids loose with the colourful decorations on one tree 😄

This was the final year for our 20 year old tree - on the tilt and quite a few internal branches missing....How I don't know - it goes away in the same box every year...bizarre!

peachescariad · 05/11/2024 14:49

Opps....

peachescariad · 05/11/2024 14:51

3rd time lucky....

Christmas tree threads are my favourite threads every year. It makes me so happy to see everyone’s trees and how much love goes into them. @MrsMitford3 and @TrickyD your trees are so lovely!

tree one (8ft ancient b and q eiger tree that I just love and have never found a tree I like more) and tree two (7ft pencil tree that I shove wherever it’ll fit 😂)

Our tree last year. It is artificial and going strong for about 20 years now. Is about 8 feet tall and each year we add a few animal ornaments to the tree.

This is lovely, where are the candle lights from please?

Lovely trees - how do you decided which presents go under each tree?

The kitchen ones are fake 😳 I just wrapped empty boxes and then any wine / bottled gifts are stored in the wooden crate until gifting time. Real presents go under the lounge tree < which I then shake / lift / listen too intently working out what DH may of gotten me>

thank you! I use zillions of lights but honesty the very put of fashion lametta makes it! I must say I love seeing all the trees- everyone so different and gorgeous.

I have to van myself from buying Baileys until December…

When you say zillions of lights... Are these one huge set of cluster lights? Or multiple sets of standard ones please?

The lady that dresses the trees (which are spectacular) in our local garden centre told me to wind up and down each individual branch, which does look loads better... But still nowhere near as lit as yours, is there a technique you use?

i bought those lights many years ago in The Netherlands. They clip on to the branches.

Xmastreefreak · 05/11/2024 18:58

i know it’s a tree thread but I also do my door and entranceway too and love sharing Xmas stuff 🙈 I’ve got thicker garland this year to make the doorway look better

@Edgeofthesea love the trees but also, where are you that you had snow! I’m down in the SE and apart from a light sprinkling in February (if we’re lucky), I can only dream of snow in December 😍

Lalanbaba · 05/11/2024 19:25

Our tree last year, there is no theme and has even homemade salt dough ornaments. Made almost a decade ago. Every year we buy new baubles/decorations for it.

@Xmastreefreak Your doorway looks amazing! I bet it's really popular with kids when they are passing by. I'm going to try a garland round my front door this year. 🤞

Here are my trees,
disney themed in the sitting room.
Ginger bread in the dining room and a tree in the hall with baubles from all the places we’ve visited.

I’ve just googled lametta but need to know more. It looks like fine silver threads??? Are they attached to each other or are they all separate? How do you put it on the tree?
