Long time lurker. Even longer Christmas lover. Here's my tree from last year. Please share photos and spread the joy of the season. I will never apologise for being a Christmas addict.

@MrsMitford3 can I ask how long it takes you? It definitely looks worth it, your tree is beautiful.

I never realised people have more than one Christmas tree in their house - is this a recent thing? I don't think I know any of my friends who celebrate Christmas who have more than one, although some decorate their DCs rooms with lights etc. I don't think I remember it from childhood friends either. It always seemed to be one tree downstairs, and no decorations upstairs.

Admittedly it takes me absolutely hours.

I tend to get the tree and let it sit for a day so the branches fall/relax.
I always test my lights a few days before so I can replace any that aren't working.

Then I do the lights-I can't remember for sure but most of the day.
Some of that includes me swearing I'lll never do it again and other drama 😂 but I love it so much when it is done it is worth it.

I do lights the day before decorating-way too much for one day.
And def fizz for the decorating day!

This feels like a very cosy thread. I don't know why but the thought of multiple trees in a house, especially for DC, is lovely! Do people here put lights/decorate outside, or is there a dedicated thread for that Grin There are always lots of multi coloured flashing lights on our road, I wonder if this year will be less due to cost, if they run them from the mains?

I decorate the outside of my house! I don't want to share a pic because that's too outing but I love doing it. Actually about half of the houses in my road do it too, it's lovely.

IAm16StoneHalloween2024 · 07/11/2024 15:44

@RainbowWife If you changed your name and only posted the outside of your house then you’d still be anonymous for everything else.

I really want to see pictures of people decorating the outside of their homes!

RainbowWife · 07/11/2024 15:52

@IAm16StoneHalloween2024 I just tried but because I've already wrote on this thread as this username, you can't change your username and add another post!

My tree. I love it. It won't be going up just yet though!

MrsMitford3 · 07/11/2024 19:01

We decorate the outside-

all the houses round me do but the road behind has literally every house and lights over the road etc.

We are all on the Alexander Devine Light Trail and it raises money for the charity. They do a map of decorated houses and ppl follow -really lovely.

Danniotley · 07/11/2024 19:18

Last years tree. We always have the same colour scheme so this year will be the same.

I love how fantastic that looks! I’m jealous as I can never get mine to look that lovely

Try again.. 🙄 My tree, from last year 😍😍

Our tree from last year. It looks light behind the curtains, because I put up a string of warm lights around the bay window.

Two small children here, so everything is always in a state of chaos.

The other photo, is a variation of one I take every year. Early in the morning, or late a night, I take a photo of what I'm drinking, next to the tree. This one also has a 'spare' roast potato...

I love a colourful tree. Our first year in this house I had a co-ordinated tree with plum/silver and white lights and I thought it looked so bland. From then on I’ve gone all out on colour and tat!! One of my cats loves it so much that every December she sleeps underneath it every night 😻

Mine from last year. Totally unco-ordinated as every bauble/decoration has a backstory 😀. We get a real tree so every year it looks a bit different and last year’s was much too big!!

Aww, your cat looks so cute under there! Xmas Smile Do presents only go under there on Christmas Eve then, so the cat can have their space?

@Bigboysmademedoit that's one whopper of a tree!

Just bumping this thread because I love to see the Christmas trees.

ChristmasCheesecake · 23/11/2024 13:35

Loving ALL the trees. Anyone else??
(shameful bump)

MooseBreath · 23/11/2024 20:15

Most recent tree photo is 3 years ago, apparently. We've since added a second child and a dog, so it's been chaotic!

Thank you for starting this thread, @BookyGilly - it's been fantastic to see so many beautiful trees. I must admit, I love looking at tree displays to the extent that I go out of my way to attend Christmas tree festivals! 🌲

BookyGilly · 24/11/2024 00:54

@Gummibarchen I love them too. A local church is having a Christmas Tree festival which I'll be visiting and the trees and decorations are coming out in the neighbourhood so it's starting to feel really festive. 🎄

Gummibärchen · 24/11/2024 01:07

Enjoy the festival, @BookyGilly ! I feel this is a safe space to share more details about my CT addiction: I've got one assembled, ready to light up AND I've also put together a Yolka tree (it's got a whole different vibe/colour scheme) which will go up for New Year's! 🌲🌲😂
