Thread 3 - The one with the Grim Giftsets

Thanks to @SpottyBumPony for giving us such a grim code Xmas Grin

I've spent the afternoon going through the Christmas list and feeling very overwhelmed about how much to get and how much it'll all cost. I need to get control and organised.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Hi,

If you have got a £10 off skincare reward from JL, it gives the discount with a minimum spend of £10.

This is a good way to pick up a small item for free, e.g. some Inkey List products, Liz Earle, Neals Yard.

I love getting freebies and didn’t get round to claiming my last £5 voucher, so I will definitely be toddling into JL next week!

There's also a small free gift with a £25 Inkey List spend so £15 after voucher

LostCats · 05/10/2024 13:07

Bit niche but does anyone know of or have a Stussy code? I’ve tried all the ones online but they don’t seem to work.

IlovePond · 05/10/2024 13:07

Ooh, interesting- thanks @tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz

Londonmummy66 · 05/10/2024 13:10

Does anyone have a code for free delivery on seeds from Thompson & Morgan? I bought some of the Kew seeds for myself and they are so lovely I want to buy some for SIL but resent paying as much again for postage when all it should cost is an envelope and a second class small letter stamp.

Flubadubba · 05/10/2024 13:11

@Reastie We're on page 38 already! Thought someone should give a heads up...

Jedstre · 05/10/2024 13:12

I'm after some ultra mini Uggs. Is it worth waiting for back Friday deals or has anyone seen any good offers now? Thanks

Chocolateteabag · 05/10/2024 13:17

@ArthurChristmas22

If my boys/brothers/DH are anything to go on - new underpants are always useful (sometimes they are more holey than a string bag Hmm)

oddballs have a few in their sale - and you can get a 10% off code if you register your email.

OnionBag · 05/10/2024 13:20

@Jedstre I’m not sure if I’d wait for discounts on those uggs. Last year they sold out everywhere even within an hour of being restocked.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 05/10/2024 13:29

I've posted my Look Fantastic referral code on the Christmas bargain thread if anyone wants it?

There's 20% selected items today, it's on Top Cashback and very easy to hit £25 for free delivery too.

PinkSkiesAtNight · 05/10/2024 13:29

Vimaybe · 04/10/2024 20:52

@PiPinkSkiesAtNight glad I'm not alone are you temped by the Christmassy cinnamon or green fir yet or am I just a bit much! 😅

Thank you for the link x

@Vimaybe I had the fir one last year! And I'm tempted by alllllll of them!!! I'm thinking maybe warm forest, whatever that is! Definitely time for a Christmasssy one!

courtesy of @Streetcornerchoir . My seeds arrived today and the packaging is so lovely!

Scout2016 · 05/10/2024 13:44

@ArthurChristmas22 do any of them like making things? I made a Timberkits automatron set of a drummer recently and enjoyed it, got a pirate and octopus on the way. Both "new" off vinted.

llamalines · 05/10/2024 13:54

For those who like a retro vibe, Rex have some great bargains in their sale, especially for little kids.

Mini rucksacks for £4.95, biros for 19p, rag rugs for £3.95, sloth birthday candles for £1 etc etc. loads of stuff for £1-£2 including kids crockery, games etc.

https://www.rexlondon.com/clearance

Sadly mine are a bit old as I love this stuff, and have already most of the stuff that isn't for little ones as I bought loads stocking fillers there last year!

If anyone else knows any sales for stocking fillers for teens and adults I'd love to know about them. Or shops with a retro / boho vibe that don't cost the earth.

I was looking at the Fahlo bracelets as I thought 20% off when they were £14.95 seemed like a good deal but when I click through it then adds tax making 4 bracelets £57 - is that right? Are they likely to have a bigger discount for Black Friday? I am back to sitting on my hands…!

BeaLola · 05/10/2024 14:12

Waffles21 if only a Velvetiser would do then see if you know anyone who is a Hotel Chocolat VIP as they can buy them for £69:95 but do need to show their card in store to get offer

Amazonmulu · 05/10/2024 14:13

@Chocolatecakewithsprinkles thanks so much for the straighteners at Boots! I've been watching them on Amazon for about 2 years 😂 And as u still have some 12yo semi functioning GHDs I've not felt I can justify it. At boots with double points plus with 10% off via an advantage card voucher they were a steal!! Thanks!!

imnottoofussed · 05/10/2024 14:40

Quite a few tonies on tkmaxx online and also in store today £9.99 each

MarshmallowsOnToast · 05/10/2024 14:45

Speaking of TK Maxx...

Was just having a nosey & this popped up.

Click & collect is free but might help those who don't have a store close by.

Wondering if anyone can help - looking for an advent calendar for a woman that's not beauty/make up/candles but more substantial than a chocolate every day

siansattic · 05/10/2024 14:57

Anyone looking for presents for a Welsh rugby supporter (there are a few of us!) -the WRU store have a sale on at the moment. 60% - 80% off some items. Obviously not this season's kit but some real bargains.

Blessedbethefruitz · 05/10/2024 14:59

Yoto player advice please! Has anyone found bargains recently? And has anyone had a child outgrow them? It's a fair whack to sink in and I'm not convinced my older would use one much - but ut would be the end of the world if his little sister got one and he didn't...

The White Company one looks good, but is pricey at £175

ruralwanderer · 05/10/2024 15:09

I'm still wearing my 10 for £10 Vera Tucci socks from last year but had a quick browse just now and they've got lots of other highly discounted offers on at the moment on hats, gloves and scarves (bargainous socks are sold out): Cheap mystery bundles
