Thread 3 - The one with the Grim Giftsets

Thanks to @SpottyBumPony for giving us such a grim code Xmas Grin

I've spent the afternoon going through the Christmas list and feeling very overwhelmed about how much to get and how much it'll all cost. I need to get control and organised.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Hi, just a heads up on the Solace £10 deal and FIRST25 code, (which worked for me this morning), all sold out apart from Rose Gold and Silver3, (I don’t know what that last material is).

Thought I’d mention in case anyone here was ‘getting round’ to an order.

I didn’t go ahead myself, as have been spending too much🙀

Thanks you have saved me some £ as has things in my basket and was procrastinating.

IlovePond · 05/10/2024 10:02

Hi @tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz Nice to ‘virtually’ see you

OnionBag · 05/10/2024 10:04

@IlovePond @tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz could you point me in the direction of the beauty advent calendar thread? I can’t see it in the Christmas section. Thanks 😊

I'm after some outdoor lights at a decent price to wrap around the tree in our front garden. Just remembered they weren't working properly last year and I tossed them in January meaning to pick up a set in the sales 🙄

Try garden trading company sale

LoveHearts69 · 05/10/2024 10:07

Sorry where is this mystery bundle on the site? I can’t seem to find it anywhere 🫣

They’ll be updatable for a few years yet! Apple updates their handsets every year and discontinues the previous model(s) - ios18 currently runs on handsets discontinued 5-6 years ago.

I still have an iPhone 7 and it doesn’t run on the latest software but does get security updates etc.

Is anyone else who got cards last weekend wondering if it's worth getting stocked up for 2026?!! Grin

Just spotted I'm the third person to post the offer this morning so think this is going to be the new BUNS! 😂

Thank you! 🙏🏼 I’m so intrigued what I’ll get! This thread is dangerous 🤣

Ewock · 05/10/2024 10:22

Can anyone get the whistlefish free tin offer to work? It won't add for me

Ewock · 05/10/2024 10:34

Ignore me I was being daft!

Has Anyone tried the Mallow and Marsh chocolate covered marshmallows? They look like interesting flavours and sold in my local supermarket but don’t want to waste my money if they aren’t nice.

I’m actually obsessed with the salted caramel ones!

These straighteners are currently £27 on Boots, Very and Amazon and have quite good reviews.

Thanks I've ordered these! They have fantastic reviews.

I need a whole load of gifts for boys 17-22. They are groups of brothers, 2-3, in each family. I could duck out and do gift vouchers but I've some real hit presents over the years so I'm trying to pull it out of the bag again. Over the years, they've had Hype stuff, spicery sets (they all love cooking or were off to Uni!), sports tops, multi tool pens. Any ideas, would love to know!

ArthurChristmas22 · 05/10/2024 11:31

And Tripp luggage has a flash sale. Brilliant luggage company.

Chocolatecakewithsprinkles · 05/10/2024 11:39

@JoyAngerOut I've had the raspberry ones they were nice 😋

I know this has been talked about but I can not find the chat about Tonies. My dd has decided that she'd really, really, really (there were a lot more reallys) like one for her bday or xmas. Her bday is just before Xmas.
I know Smyths have the £10 off £100 deal so I could do it on that with some other bits but wondered if there was anything better? Thanks so much

Ewock · 05/10/2024 11:53

Also just got this offer through from Munchie Mouse

I’ve got a 26% off voucher code for new look if anyone wants it? Not sure if it’s full price items only tho

I would wait. Tonies seem to do regular discounts on the bundle deals and I'd expect one before Xmas. Alternatively I think I can send you a referral code for £15 off (for full disclosure, this will give me £15 too).

Jamie Oliver's Mediterranean cookbook is back down to £4 on Amazon.

Hi,

If you have got a £10 off skincare reward from JL, it gives the discount with a minimum spend of £10.

This is a good way to pick up a small item for free, e.g. some Inkey List products, Liz Earle, Neals Yard.

I love getting freebies and didn’t get round to claiming my last £5 voucher, so I will definitely be toddling into JL next week!

Would you mind sending me the referral code (and thank you for being clear about it)
Looking at deals etc the actual Tonies website seems the best at the moment. Thanks

LemonTurdCart · 05/10/2024 12:55

@Ewock we had only last year from John Lewis which worked out cheapest with cashback at the time, bought early November for a birthday.
Then when it stopped charging on the 21st Dec they managed to get me an identical replacement in time for Christmas! As we had relatives gifting extra Tonie figures.
Can’t rate JL highly enough for that.
