What do you buy only at Christmas that's available all year

Inspired by another thread where a poster commented that another buys Pringles for Xmas when they are available all year....

For us
Cranberry sauce - I never bother rest of year even though I love it with bacon and Brie
Brie come to think of it, prob because of the cranberry thing
Chocolate oranges
Baileys
Those teeny tiny pickled onions
Mini marshmallows for hot chocolate (in December really)
Tubs of dry roasted peanuts

No logic in most of it. I know I could buy but I just don't.

Matchmakers - even though I absolutely love them.
cauliflower cheese 🫕
chilli jam

dudsville · 21/09/2024 09:59

I only have cheese and biscuits over the holidays. Basically it's a period of indulgence.

Twiglets. Off when you buy em, off when you throw em out.

I was so disappointed with Twiglets , they had no flavour , I thought it was my Covid-Mutilated Taste Buds at fault but it seems not .

My list:

After Eights
Fentimans Ginger Beer (with a dash of Roses Lime Cordial)
Chestnuts aka Teddy Bears Noses (to go with the sprouts)
Hot Chocolate to go in the Not A Velvetiser Frother

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 21/09/2024 10:34

Sprouts.

I pretty much only buy about 50 percent of the things listed so at Christmas only because if I bought them all year round I'd be twice the size I am now. Bloody love Christmas food. All year round and I'd be dead in a few years...

Pate

Pinksmyfavoritecolour · 21/09/2024 13:31

Stones ginger wine, love it with a few ice cubes,

Choosetolivelife · 21/09/2024 13:32

Fruit and nut selection, biscuit selections, wensleydale, posh crackers, pickled onions (although we have recently stopped buying these recently, as they always get wasted), hot chocolate bombs, chocolate liquor. And of course a turkey! We eat turkey mince though throughout the year! Dh, and the kids love mint chocolate, so tend to have after eights/mint selections for birthdays.

bringincrazyback · 21/09/2024 13:32

Baileys, after eights, Roses and chocolate oranges. I'd be the size of a house if I allowed myself them all year round.

Iwontlethtesungodownonme · 21/09/2024 13:35

Bailey’s
Prawns. My now adult daughter still insists that prawn cocktail is the only acceptable Christmas Day starter.

TerfTalking · 21/09/2024 13:40

Cranberries, but I make my own sauce and freeze it so I do eat it throughout the year.

Streaky bacon for the pigs.

Boxes of nice chocolates.

Christmas cake, but again I buy it at Christmas and eat it along with Christmas pudding throughout the year. They’re so rich I don’t fancy them a Christmas but I do in February!

Chambourd.

catsnore · 21/09/2024 13:51

Ginger wine
Twiglets
'Fancy' cheese
Smoked salmon/side of salmon
Roses chocolates

somethinggotmestarted · 21/09/2024 14:09

Pigs in blankets/or make them
After eights
Selection of cheeses (that aren't even my favourite. Why do I buy a box every year??! I'm sure the Red Leicester always gets binned! Im going to buy individually this year! Thanks OP!)
