What do you buy only at Christmas that's available all year

Inspired by another thread where a poster commented that another buys Pringles for Xmas when they are available all year....

For us
Cranberry sauce - I never bother rest of year even though I love it with bacon and Brie
Brie come to think of it, prob because of the cranberry thing
Chocolate oranges
Baileys
Those teeny tiny pickled onions
Mini marshmallows for hot chocolate (in December really)
Tubs of dry roasted peanuts

No logic in most of it. I know I could buy but I just don't.

Baklava, Turkish delight and Florentines. I just associate treats like that with Christmas and it's nice to wait for something and really look forward to it.

Just an excessive amount of treats and snacks, normally we just have some lunch box fillers for the kids (penguins and some cheap crisps) at Christmas we have every treat under the sun.

UngratefulOldCabbage · 21/09/2024 15:32

Cheese footballs!

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 21/09/2024 15:33

A tube of Pringles to go with Christmas supper which is always gammon sandwiches.
Coke. My household know Christmas is nearly here when I buy a box of Coke in cans. We only have tonic, fizzy water and soda water for the rest of the year.
candied mixed fruit to make my non-negotiable festive pudding of iced nougat parfait.

that's about it. We don't really buy anything special for Christmas, just eat pretty much as normal.

Cheese footballs!

These are SO hard to find now! I spend eleven months hunting them down - if I could find them all year I'd eat them all year.

Nobody else likes them except for me. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 21/09/2024 15:36

Oh and Amaretto and Manzanilla sherry both of which I adore but confine to Christmas.

I buy things associated with Christmas all year round as I have a slight Christmas obsession and if I feel a bit rubbish ever the first thing I do is have something Christmassy (eg a mini Xmas pud for breakfast with some marzipan fruits) the only thing I ever only get at Christmas time is candy canes as they are the only thing I don’t see year round in shops
